  • That's a nice 4100 panel. They have a Simplex 4100 system at the Silver City Galleria Mall in Taunton, MA; but it's set up as a conventional system with "LOCAL ALARM" 4251 T-bars, and 2098-9201 photoelectric smoke detectors, and it has 2901-9838 horns on 4903-9101 strobe plates. The system is from around 1991 or 1992

  • "can anyone tell me the address?"

    The address is M1-99

  • @coffeeandsugar20 technically the address is 99 M1 just indicates the mapnet chanel (SLC) that the device is on. But I bet you know that already.

    SG District 442 OKC

  • @jhovahnissi Nope. I didn't. I bought a 4010 that came out of a school in Oklahoma City.

  • @jhovahnissi I figured you must be SG or former SG to know that M1-99 was the address designator. You at least have some experince with Simplex fire alarm systems. If you bout that 4010 off Ebay, I would be willing to bet it actualy came out of Moore schools. They pulled a bunch out and sold them a few years ago. Moore is realy S OKC they just don't want to admit it.

  • What is the thing the smoke detector is in?

  • it's called a duct smoke!

  • Right, =]

  • awesome videos

    keep them coming

  • i have this same panel :)

  • yeah i'm starting to be come more and more of a fan of the simplex series.

  • ecept i have noooo idea how to hook it all up

yeah its growin on me 2

  • I love the 4100 series panels.

  • @NLind i like the mxl iqs and wheelock but i like simplex 4100s, and quick connects

  • is that in your house

  • lol....no it's in a high school.

  • Do you work for Simplex or another company?

  • another small company

  • @jjinc24 Come on folks its been 8 years since we were bought it is SimplexGrinnell now.

  • Were you pressing keys at the beginning to make it scroll through the troubles, or was that done by someone at an annunciator?

  • yeah that was me making all that noise. just getting back to the trouble screen.

  • BTW, what did pressing F1 do?

  • when you want to change the access level, F1 to long in and F2 to log out.

  • smoke...it's a duct smoke detector

  • yeah... Canned smoke.

If you use the stuff enough, it will actually gunk up the chamber and attract duct, and thats why I generally like to use smoldering punks when testing mine (which also dirties the chamber a bit) the canned smoke is a lot more convenient tho.

Smoldering punks make the whole area smell too...

  • yeah it does gunk it up. it effects the sens rating on it.

  • Is that what there call California code

  • no. this is what you call walk test. it rings out the zone when it goes into alarm

  • is the device on zone 1 address 9 and on zone 9

  • it's M1-99 mapnet 1, device 99. the zone on this panel is different, it could be zone 23.

  • thats confusing!!! Our UK fire panel (analogue addressable ones) sometimes flash the detector LED the amount of times for the address number. Sometimes you have to check the panels history after the device test is complete like my menvier df6100 (sent back for repairs lol!)

  • I think ther address for the first duct is Loop1 Ad:99 and the second is Loop1 Ad:82.

    Is it right????????

  • it's not 82. i doubt anyone will get it. nice try tho

  • Is it 180?

  • you mean 1-80 or 180? lol

  • see my comment below.

  • The address of the older duct smoke is (I think)

    Loop 1, Device 99.

And the address of the TrueAlarm duct is Loop 1, Device 8 (or 82).

  • yeah the older one says the address on it. lol. the address is M1-99. the other you are close. you did count right. it just doesnt mean 8 or 82.

  • lol I couldnt even read what was on the cover of the old one... I just counted and guessed.

I dont really know for sure how to understand this Simplex coding- I know a lot more about (and have worked on) Notifier/Fire-Lite panels, so Im all about those- but Simplex's little features are better in some ways.

  • Actually, it's 80. Anytime you get those 2 fast pulses, it means the number is 0.

  • lol...right on. it also means your on the same zone when your testing.

  • oh so the alarm sounders will pulse the address of the activated device! CLEVER!!!

  • Yeah... reminds me of Simple Coding, but an addressable version.

  • did you do a bell test on this system?

  • no thats later this week. it going to be boring..its just a steady pulse.

  • Well that's better than nothing! =)

  • ok fine..put some of it on vid when i do it..lol

  • They had this at my elementary school.

  • this is actually a high school.

  • oh cool. we have a SImplex 4002 at my High School.

  • Cool!
