OMG IM DIEING TO SEE THIS

    go mormons!

  • i've seen this movie!

  • this is really great!

  • OMFG! Now there's no doubt in my mind about the Mormonism link with the New World Order. I suspected it because they sacked Stephen E. Jones from BYU. A Disney movie pretty much proves it. Keep drinking the Kool Aid Mormons. . . ahahahahahahahaha!

  • Ah, you gotta love the conspiracy theorists.

Disney's trying to take over the world, along with Mormons. Look out!

  • Let's start some MORE juicy rumors!

Most anti-mormon's think we're taking over businesses as well... let's say that Mormon's now own Disney! Oh I love it!

  • LOL!

  • This is amazing <3

  • This was a great movie. May to go Disney for putting out an awesome and family friendly show. Most of Hollywood is now chasing the dollar, but, it's nice to see a show that has values and still does well at the box office. Keep it up!

  • OMG ITS JOHNNY LINGO!!!

  • .

Remember Christians, the will of God is no Catholic, Protestant,Orthodox, Penticostal, Adventist, JW, Mormon Etc. NO DIVISION, Only Christians, holy, helping and sharing instead of buying and selling.

"That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." (John 17:9-21)

    .

  • Very valid point. But why tarnish it but using 400 year old english? It makes Christianity sound as if it is a thing of the past and no longer relevant in todays culture

  • lindo e maravilhoso! filme!

    euamei o filme!

    obrigado! irmaos! amè!

  • The Catolic church is the only church that Jesus founded, the first Pope was Peter one of the discipulos of JesusCrist that Jesus choose.

  • and over time, it became corrupt, and many other churches split from it. just look throughout history

  • BUDA is not the God of Moises, then Buda is a false God.

  • buddha was a man who had achieveda state of understanding.. buddhists dont believe in a god or an eternal soul

  • God is revealed in the Bible and not in any of your opinions or what you think. Any other god you imagine is an idol of your own mind and is idolatry.

  • i have an interesting blog...this is the problem posed " At the age of 15 I had a short spiritual journey for approximately 2 years..A journey similar to that of Joseph Smith..meaning I question what was the truth of life and which church was the true church...I never learned which church was the true church but I did learn something else...as long as there are different people in the world, there will also exist different God's, different churches, and different oppions of God.

  • Jewish people believe in God, and that's good enough for me. Muslims believe in God in some form, that's good enough for me. Even Buddhists believe in a kind of God-like figure, I think that's good enough for Him.

  • horrible theology. good enough for Him? How about, God is pissed that you are lying and claiming he is one way when that is NOT who he is?

Furthermore, the Buddha himself claimed the question "is there a God" is an irrelevant one, as the answer does not bring one any closer to enlightenment.

Respectfully, akik, you are not the one I will be giving an account to in the End... God is. So I care about what is right, not what is good enough for you.

  • I don't want to try to explain to Heavenly Father why I didn't want any more of His word.

  • So you (jesusfreakrkg) are saying that God will punish those of the Buddhist faith even though those wicked wicked evil sinners have never heard the true gospel or words of Christ? So if a baby dies in less than a year of life, God will send it to Hell for not hearing of and believing in a God? Well, you sound superdy duperdy smart, so i'm going to believe everthing YOU say because YOU are right and anyone who doesn't believe in THE God should be punished. Thanks for the insight oh smart one.

  • I haven't really followed your conversation. But in the LDS/Mormon faith we believe that if someone didn't have the opportunity to hear the gospel while they were living on the Earth they will be able to hear it and if they choose also accept it in Heaven. Also, all children under the age of 8 automatically go to what is called the "celestial kingdom" which is the highest degree of glory in heaven. :)

  • I am kind of curious as to what specifies 8 years. 7 years and 364 days wouldn't count I guess? What if the child was born early...or late? does that effect it? What if he's slow in understanding or isolated? I guess these are questions which are best not answered properly for oh dear...it might turn ugly otherwise :-)

  • The Lord has specified 8 years through revelation as a standard. However, God is perfect and just. He understands every situation and will judge accordingly.

  • Basicly that is an arbitrary number which has no valid meaning whatsoever then. Since alot of people are at different levels of development. Some kids aged 8 can easily be as smart as a twelve year old and vica versa. So basicly there is no point in putting that there since you had to make up the line ''god is perfect in his judgement'' right behind it to correct the inconsistent passage line.

  • I personally don't think God's word is arbitrary. He set a standard and we follow it.

If there was no standard, then people would baptize children earlier and earlier. Clearly a baby doesn't have a clear sense of right and wrong. Who then should make that decision? The child? The parent?

To avoid these potential conflicts, the Lord set a standard by which the vast majority of children could understand baptism and its meaning.

  • I believe God wants everyone to know that he is real, and he wants his children to live with him again. Everyone has the choice to live how they want to, and I'm not going to stop them. God gave them that choice, and I will not be the one to take it away. I believe that it is my duty, as a Latter Day Saint, to let people hear the gospel, and to tell them what I believe. They have the choice to believe it or not.

  • I know that Joseph Smith translated it under the divine orders of God and the Angel Moroni. You don't have to believe what I believe, just know what you're dealing with. I don't tell Jewish people or Muslim people or people of any other religion that their religion is wrong or from satan.

  • I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I know who I am I know God's plan, and I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ I'll honor his name. I'll do what is right, I'll follow his light, his truth I will proclaim. Why would anyone lie just to get you to honor thy parents, pray, love others as Jesus did, and all the other things the Book of Mormon says?

  • Though I'm not a part of this conversation...I have to say that there are people who use religion to manipulate weaker minded and opressed people..."Jim JOnes!! but not saying you are or your faith...I've actually met some very interesting mormon missionaries who have great character and personality...it takes a lot of dat to devote your life to that sort of spiritual journey and commitment..and the church is aslo interesting....but the only flaw i found with the mormon church and others alike .

  • to those people who loves to speak negative things about our religion..THANK YOU for your opinions but i am just thinking..IF YOU THINK THIS KIND OF MOVIE IS BRAINWASHING, THEN, WHY WATCH IT ALL WAY THROUGH?LOL..:)) I think you'd better not so you'll have nothing to say about the mormon people..we love our church and i will stand with great honor to say that this is the only true church of GOD because we are taught of great doctrines. I am a youth here in the Phil..nd proud MORMON!:)

  • Oua lotokovi!! Ha ha tangata pau auptio eni!!!!!

  • Christopher Gorham *----*

  • worst movie ever made, unrealistic portrayal of Tongans, especially from the island of NTT. Sorry but a Mormon missionary did not come and save the natives, that is a load of manure. May the true Christian God Bless you all and show you the light... Obey his word, thru the one and only Bible!!!!! All other gospels not in the Bible are untrue and stem from Satan... Take care have a great day....

  • he didn't save them he taught them and how would you know what tongans are like some of them are like that

  • I love my church and i love the Book of Mormon , and I know its true , whatever you say i wont change my mind

  • @funasaka You. Are awesome.

  • your better off getting hit by a parked car

  • /Anne Hathaway/ in a /Disney/ movie? I wasn't aware this was Mormon propaganda. But...wow.

  • wow !!! my favorite movie !!!! ganda grabe !!!!

  • i LOVED THIS MOVIE

  • I'm good friends with Brother Groberg's grandkids at my church! And today he was there and i got to shake his hand!

  • He's my grandma's cousin!!!!!!!

  • You are Lucky!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • this seems pretty cool!! :)

  • Ha. Don't fall for the LDS propaganda films. All they're doing is trying to give their religion more ground than it actually holds.

    "Missing it makes everything meaningless"

    Talk about fear mongering.

  • This was made by DISNEY, not the Church.

  • Sounds to me that the film was produced by "3Mark Entertainment" whose only film is this one, and was written and produced by Mitch Davis, who graduated from BYU. Therefore, if a BYU grad makes a film like this, it's a safe bet to say that he's Mormon.

While the film may not be officially endorsed by the Church (in the end, what movie really is?), it most definitely wasn't "made by Disney".

  • Fair point, distributed by Disney, written by Davis. But to claim that this is "LDS propaganda" is ridiculous.

Also, it was produced by Gerald R. Molen, who won an Academy Award for producing Schindler's List.

  • Why is it ridiculous? It's a movie written and directed by a member of a church with the intent to invoke emotions to lead the audience to believe that a certain agenda is correct, rather than letting doctrine speak for itself.

It's not just propaganda for non members either, it works on members as well. They're totally brainwashed by this kind of stuff everyday, perpetuating the brainwash cycle.

Sure, it's not as dangerous as other propaganda, but it is propaganda pushing a certain agenda.

  • Look at the cover. Disney did do a lot with this movie.

  • We are in no way brainwashed! We think how we want to think the church does not do it for us!

  • I'ev heard of this movie, but this preview did'nt seem about religon.

  • The main character is a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, this movie is enjoyable for people of all faiths.

  • thank you kolipoki!!..

    we love you!!

  • my favourite movies

  • This is probably one of my favorite movies to watch!! Hoorah for Israel!!!

  • Both of my best friends are on missions right now. This is such a great movie. LDS missionaries are THE greatest people you ever get the hope of knowing.

    "Hoorah for Isreal!!!"

  • did you go to the louisville mission? because my husband always wrote hoorah for israel. hah maybe it's just a church thing.

  • I am definatelly watching this movie! I am not a mormon but my, well one of my close friends is currently on a mission in the Baltics. )))

  • There's also a video called "The Best Two Years" which you might really enjoy too then.

  • Thanks :)

  • Oh my gosh! l love that movie! "with all this bike rideing and walking my rear end has become quite beautifu!" I am accually a mormon and before you say they suck just realize ur probubly going to go to hell if you say that! MORMONS ROCK!

  • hahaha! i love that movie!! the mormon pride and prejudice is pretty entertaining too ^_^

  • :)))))

  • Personally I loved the movie, but since I'm LDS and a RM, that's understandable.

  • I think I saw this one. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't remarkable either.

  • The real John H. Groberg as well as his wife Jean, one of his grandsons and one of his daughters with her husband can be seen at the very end during the wedding scene. As the camera pans from right to left, you can see his daughter, then her husband, then the grandson, then John is taking a picture of the couple, and his wife is next to him clapping.

  • That's cool, hadn't heard that before!

  • CAN YOU GUYS DO THE WHOLE MOVIE?!

  • I was in the Cook Islands when this movie was being filmed, we went on splits with Chris, he was extremely nice, in fact I saw him about 1 and a half later and he remembered my name, he is a stand up guy.

  • Is Anne Hathaway LDS ??

  • No, neither is Chris. But they both were very, very nice. The main set for the movie in the islands was a stones throw behind our apartment.

  • What a touching movie, thank you!

  • he's supposed to be a mormon missionarie but he's alone and he doesn't wear the nameplate with his name "elder..." haha awkward..

  • The movie was set like 60 years ago and I'm not sure the nameplates were used then. In the movie, he has another missionary with him.

  • i supposed so hahahaah but i didn't see his partner hhahaah THANKS! i've just downloaded the movie and gona watch it tomorrow ^^ :)

  • This was back when those rules were not strict like they are today.

  • I too saw this movie, it is so touching. I really enjoyed it. Got it in French! :)

  • other side of haeven

  • I saw this movie today! It TRUELY is Greaaaaat! It is so touching that I was a little inspired to be a short-term missionaries. However, I think there will be much against from my family since I will graduate from college this month and I need to find a job as soon as possible. And still, only I am a member and they still don't know about it. Maybe it will take a lot of time to communicate with them. Hope going well!

By the way, this video inspires me to see the movie. Awesome. Thank you.

  • pray & fast on what you should do . if you follow the promptings of the spirit the lord will bless you AND your family . god bless

  • Hey this is kind of random, but my mom is a christian/mormon singer, and i'm doing this because it's mothers day and im trying to do something nice.=).She recently made her debut cd.We are having a hard time getting her music out there so please, you can find her songs on itunes or rapsody, you can also buy her cd on Amazon. I would be truly grateful if you take the time to listen to her music. ( Sorry if I bothered anyone.)

  • What is her name?

  • Her name is Amy Harmon

  • tell me about her more :]

  • Wasn't bad but Work And The Glory series was much better!

  • I just bought this about a month ago on ebay... great movie.

  • This is great, but the coolest LDS movie of all time is the Lamb of God followed by (don't laugh) Together Forever. These two marvelous films explain many doctrines of the church in illustrious and simplistic fashion.

  • I'm sorry...I laughed anyway. I guess that video does have a bad reputation, doesn't it? You're right, though. It teaches good things.

  • SORRY....I have to...Have to say that the best Major LDS movie ever is "the best two years" it's perfect mixture of funny and serious and doctrinal. Great for watching with non-member friends since it's goofy enough and semi-apologetic enough to not CONTINUALLY confuse people not in the LDS church. Then, explains a lot and has powerful Spirit moments too. Watching the missionary get his Testimony of the Church back is awesome.

  • I dunno... I think the best LDS movie is Johnny Lingo. :D

  • hah lol dat movie is funni!

  • I think he's got a book called The Other Side of Heaven but also had a couple earlier ones describing his mission, I think they are In the Eye of the Storm and the Fire of Faith.

  • I'd like to invite everyone to please rate the video and leave a comment about what you thought about the video!

If you saw the movie, what were your thoughts?

  • One of my favorite videos related to the Church. It's uplifting, powerful and just a lot of fun.

  • I agree. Most of the other films made by movie studios just don't have the same feeling and message that this one does.

  • Did you see saints and soldiers? its about an LDS soldier during the 2nd world war and i'm pretty sure its based on a true story to. i highly recomend it ^_^

  • I never saw this but it looks fantastic.

  • I would highly recommend it. Elder Groberg is now a member of the Quorum of the Seventy and he had some amazing experiences during his mission.

  • Oh wow... so it really is a true story (unlike some movies that are just loosely based on one).

  • Before it was a movie, it was a book (or maybe a couple of books) that Elder Groberg had written describing his mission experiences.

  • It's also interesting to know that Elder Groberg served several missions there later in his life with his wife (and when his children were young enough to come with them). He has an amazing love for the people there.

  • Wow....cool! I think I'm gonna see if anyone is selling it on eBay. I've been finding lots of great church stuff there.

  • I think he's got one called the Other Side of Heaven, but also a couple others called In the Eye of the Storm and Fire of Faith.

  • I bought Other Side of Heaven (the DVD) last night for $10 (after shipping), but I'll look into those books as well.
