  • Oh my, Linc had big glasses.

  • John Deffenbaker fucked Canada over...

    Nice idols man.

You deserved the "fuddle duddle" :D

  • @FoodNazi001

That puts the interviewer in perspective, eh? ! Trudeau had the balls, explains why he became PM and these whiners are obsessed with making a big deal about nothing

  • Trudeau's really enjoying himself here.

  • @newargot

he really is ahahahha he was amazing.

It always makes me smile when I watch these, to think Canada had such a controversial prime minister

  • fuck off, it's just a word

  • John Lundrigan pressed dislike 3 times

  • yah conservatives are so truthfull, bunch of bullshiiters

  • Right, a Liberal denying that they didn't say anything. There's a lie right there.

When does a Liberal NOT say anything!?

  • "what were you thinking when you moved your lips"....lol

  • whats a fuddle duddle can anyone explain?

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson

It's basically saying that people come up with stupid words like "fuddle duddle" (common examples would be darn or dang) but they are thinking "fuck"

  • @893160007 could you give me an example, in a sentence please brother?

  • @ReturnOfJackDawson

its never used, watch the video thats the only way

  • my guess is that wasn't the first time those guys have been told to "fuck off"....i remember this .....much ado about nothing....i loved p.e.t.... except for him opening the immigration floodgates...

  • Final point on Trudeau. He was extremely respected as a statesman. He didn't let anyone push him around...he was extremely intelligent...and he had great vision....all qualitied that Harper lacks greatly... Harper has no vision beyond his own pocket book and his christian dogma that he thinks he can impose on the Canadian public.. He has no ability to relate to others who are different from him....which is often a problem with christian conservative politicians.

  • Stephen Harper has been tearing apart our finances and our values since day one. We are NOT a christian neoconservative society, as George Bush liked to play on in the US. We have fundamental differences from the US that have made Canada unique for many many years. We are not the kissass crime concerned selfish country that Harper has made us out to be in such a short time. Give it enough time, and my bet is that Harper will get flushed down the shit tube just like Mulroney..just watch...

  • What are Trudeau's accomplishments? First of all...the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.....a very very significant statement of the values of Canadians. I don't think any Canadian prime minister since then can rival that. Trudeau knew what he believed in, and it was a vision for all of Canada. I can't say that ANY prime minister since has had vision anywhere even remotely close to that. Paul Martim put us in amazing financial position with his handling of finances..

  • Trudeau totally looks like Mr. Burns in 1:30..... "yessss, excellent"

  • Trudeau is an amazing man: not afraid of anything

  • Woah, we had a black politician in the 70's , nice?

  • @sekoyes1 Yup he was the first black member of parliament.

  • This man... that is Trudeau, is my hero.

  • Prime Minister Trudeau was the best Prime Minster we ever had.

  • I have a message for CBC--Fuck off

  • @gcwbr1 Ditto

  • I was a teenager when he was PM.

    I found him embarrassing.

  • @mottledbrain really? because I think you should have found him inspiring... Trudeau was more educated, intelligent and more open minded than most of the people in his profession ... the man had backbone too

  • @euginam91 The man was supposed to be a statesman. The leader of an entire nation. Someone to help us feel at least a little proud to be Canadian.

    What did this fool do?

He did pirouettes behind the Queens back. He gave the press the middle finger on more than one occasion.

As far as his public behaviour goes, he never grew up. These are all childish antics.

Steven Harper is a statesman. Trudeau was an embarrassment.

  • @mottledbrain Charisma is what you're describing. He gave Canadians hope in their country. Now I just wish I was in America so I had Obama.

  • @lukejw1995 My first original political thoughts emerged when I was a kid witnessing "Trudeaumania".

I was genuinely disturbed that people would use charisma as a criteria to lead a country.

Thanks be to God that here in Canada we do not have that baby-killing Obama as a 'leader'.

  • @mottledbrain you're an embarassment

  • @binkerrrrr How would you know if I was an embarrassment? All you know are a few of my opinions.

What is it that bothers you? That I don't like using charisma (as in being a media darling for example) or that I am willing to speak the truth about Obama's evil agenda? Something else?

  • @mottledbrain Stephen Harper is a statesman...lol...that is the most laughable statement I have ever heard. I have never been around a Canadian government that cannot make up it's own mind about anything in regard to foreign policy, without the US stating their position first. The last time that someone had any guys in foreign policty in Canada was Chretien who rightly called George Bush and idiot and refused to partake in the Iraq war.

  • @mottledbrain Stephen Harper is a total wimp when it comes to foreign policy, and foreign policy is the mark of a great statesman. Canada had built up a great reputation for being progressive and humanitarian in the world...for being trusted in their international direction. Stephen Harper is the biggest kissass in the world He has been a total disgrace for Canada on the international scene. Thanks to Harper, we were disgraced in regard to getting a seat on the security council.

  • @paulfornasier Just look at Trudeau...watch the one about the FLQ crisis where he says "just watch me". The guy is not afraid of any kind of debate at all. Try this with Stephen Harper and he either runs away or he changes the subject. The guy is a total control freak. He could never handle the kind of open debate that Trudeau allowed. Trudeau was an incredible statesman...regardless of his wild expression at times. At least he acted like a human being...and not a Harper robot..lol

  • @paulfornasier Actually I do not really like Stephen Harper. I just like him a lot more than Trudeau.

The only thing that Harper has done that really impressed me was not to give in and include abortion as a way to help maternal health in third world countries.

Unfortunately he does not have the backbone to ban the state sanctioned killing of babies right here in Canada. But then, no politician is willing to do what is right ... they only want to do what is politically expedient.

  • @mottledbrain I don't believe the "politically expedient" line. We don't live in a country where religion runs our parliament. We believe in the right of a woman to choose to a certain point in the pregnancy. Once you pass a certain point in the pregnancy, it becomes a crime. This is an agreed upon decision in most developed countries around the world. Harper will get kicked out of Parliament so so fast if he changes abortion legislation.

  • @mottledbrain I think what you're seeing with Stephen Harper is a hardcore Christian conservative....and he is being pressured from that side of the party... But..truth is...that is not a reflection of Canadian values at all...we have been a liberal non sectarian society for decades. Harper can't touch legislation that gives gay people eual rights and he really can't touch abortion legislation. Just watch....he will suffer the consequences if he really stants to play in those areas in Canada.

  • @paulfornasier Sorry, just to clarify, there hasn't been legislation on abortion in Canada since the Supreme Court decision in R. v. Morgentaler in 1988. It should also be noted that the court did not express that a woman had the "right to abortion", but that sections the Act were in violation of Secton 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and therefore not enforceable. And only one attemp has be made to update it, but it failed in the Senate.

  • @mt1eh True...I never said that there had been legislation since Morgentaler. I was just discussing the current legislation and the possibilities of whether Harper would make another move to try to overturn it....

  • @paulfornasier You've missed my point....There is NO, zero, zip, nada "Current" legislation on abortion. There is nothing there for Harper government to try to overturn; which by the way is inaccurate. Courts overturn laws; legislatures/parliaments proclaim, enact and repeal laws. There is, however, the "Notwithstandiing clause" of the Canadian Constitution, but that is a whole different story!.

  • @mt1eh Thanks for the correction. I had forgotten that Canada had never actually introduced legislation after the Morgentaler decision. OK...so Harper won't overturn it by introducing legislation...but he can change the Canadian legal posiiton by introducing legislation....which will likely get challenged in the courts immediately of course...

  • @mt1eh And to also clarify..I wasn't stating what was in the legistlation, as much as what the general stated beliefs are of Canadians who support the legislation...the right of women to choose to a certain point in pregnancy...

  • @mottledbrain What are Stephen Harper's real accomplishments? Nothing substantial at all....he fritted away the surplus he got.......and leaves us in huge deficit when he stated very clearly that we would not go into deficit at all. He keeps reducing taxes like his Bush buddy.....stupidly of course...cause Bush was the master of creating deficit. And Harper claims to be concerned about our finances. Truth is he is concerned about HIS finances and that of his corporate buddies...NOT ours.

  • You gotta love a Prime Minister who shakes his head with disapproval and says "God, you guys!".

    RIP Trudeau, 1919-2000

  • Malcom X seemed pretty offended.

  • Good Day

I remember him when I was a boy...him giving the cameras the "1 finger salute"..."pirouetting" behind the queens back,..."Trudough Dollars" (my mom gave me 2, I still have) . Ppl back then either hated him like ppl hated (Brian) Mulroney, or were thankful he was PM!

  • @RetroCaptain I bought a ball cap in Alberta not long after the infamous "national energy policy" .The hat was thrown out long ago but not before i pulled the label off . it read: PEEAIRS FRIED CHICKEN and below that the punch line ALL LEFT WINGS AND ASSHOLES

  • What an arrogant prick he was.

  • he's an amazing guy. hahahah

  • Trudeau had huge balls and Nixon hated him. He called Trudeau that @sshole from Canada. We haven't had a real leader to stand up for Canada since he left the scene.

  • @tickattack If you call being arrogant and disrespectful of any and all that opposed his policies or lack there of balls, then yes he had very large ones

  • Awwww that poor little reporter had a four letter word yelled at him. LOL he should have been greatfull that a real leader said it to him, not one of these new dinks like Harper.

  • @DodgeMan360 I believe he said it in parliment as well ,and that shows what a disgusting piece of shit he was !

  • When one observes how almost naively Barack Obama is trying to secure the cooperation of the Republicans, it would have been terrific to see a Pierre Trudeau dealing with those hypocrites.....he simply takes no prisoners!

  • What is the nature of your thoughts gentlemen ?

  • 2:07 IS THE BEST MOMENT IN ALL TIME

  • This is a PUBLIC broadcaster, why are there so many commericals? We pay for the CBC in taxes.

  • @somewhatlongdong If there were no commercials, we would be taxed a lot more.

  • you got to admit it, trudeau had personality! I wish he was still the PM. These guys though sound like a couple of whiny b**ches...they are crying to momma lol momma's boys

  • This guy addored Diefenquacker? this guys was a nutter!

For the record he said Fuck Off lol

  • @akropiss Yeah, that's what I said, he knew what "mouthing a word" meant but he was playing stupid in order to avoid answering the question, and that is condescending and irritating. This was not undue flack, the government, especially the Prime Minister, needs to have more restraint than to tell the opposition to "fuck off" in public.

  • He looks so much like Mr. Burns here.... EXCELLLLLLENT

  • What an asshole. Political gamesmanship at its best from the master of it. Man up and tell them you said Fuck Off Pierre, don't dance around and make like you are smart enough to run a country, but you don't know what "mouthing a word" means.

  • I remember my sister having a Fuddle Duddle tee shirt back in '71. Love P.E.T. for all his playing to the press. He made politics interesting.

  • Iggy take notes that a true Liberal Leader!

  • I was born while Trudeau was PM.

  • What is it about parties in opposition that turns them into whiny little bitches. The Conservatives then, and the Liberals now.

  • Lincoln Alexander at 0:45 - what an amazing man.

  • @normvb Linc has been on of the most underrated politicians of our time. A great statesman too,

  • @normvb Or was until he started crying like a kid in grade 5 about swearing.

  • Comment removed

  • My god, I want them to bottle whatever Trudeau was on back then and start feeding it to all of Parliament.

  • @LunaticFringe20 backbone?

  • haha, what a badass.

  • @sweiland75

Ya because Canadians really identified with Jean Chretien and Paul Martin.

  • @sweiland75 I'm sure not wrong am I. I hope you're not one of these guys who still drinks the liberal party kool-aid....Convince the public of anything to get voted, then stick the ignorant masses with even more taxes making them even more dependent on an inflated beuaracracy....How 's that for working at the PMO's, that would make me entitled government worker would'nt it. Harper is not perfect, but he is wayyyyy better than the alternative.

  • Comment removed

  • @vidlivs Is Liberal koolaid ready sweetened? we can all thank providence we weren't born with our heads up our asses, ( read conservative ) whatever happened to that muloney, or maroney, guy all I remember, he was a prime minister , a bad one ( joe who? ) no not him, read about it kids ,those were dark times !!! now we have old steve who if he stands still too long blends in with the wall paper and disappears.

  • @jsilence418 It may interest you to know that Mulgooney wasand still is a very sought after world negotiator for both foreign govts as well as the business community. Truedope never had any offers for same,Truth is no one in the world liked or trusted the arrogant sob

  • @Garrys300 No what interests me is idiots such as yourself and your self made world view. lets see first let's talk about Trudeau and his visit to China before that nut nixon, and for mostly the right reasons lets talk about the constitution, you talk about mulroney hmmm the g.s.t. not to mention being the most unpopular pm in history maybe that's why you like him, you both need friends??

  • @jsilence418 nope sorry buddy I dont need friends I have enough already, but I dont think you can say the same for the Liberal party or Trudope for that matter......therefore I give your post a fail. And how about the constitution? Our mother country great britian doesn't even have one......but the americans do. was truedope jealous or something ? As to the gst sure we all hated it however it turns to ok in the long term judging by the price of goods that has come down in the last 25 years.

  • Comment removed

  • @Garrys300 sure pal if you had any friends, they would tell you how stupid you look defending the worst prime minister in Canadian history. one that left a ring around the office like a dirty tub! sucked Regans ass, and left with no rerspect from any one, and a legacy of ineptitude that will only get worse with time!

  • @jsilence418 I thought the subject was trudope? But since there is absolutely nothing positive about the nefarious little prick you try to turn it into a Mulgooney fest. sorry troll you fail as did 90% of the trudopes policies.Maybe you weren't born yet or are just naive. Trudope: the only prime minister to ever invoke the war measures act and nearly losing the prov. Trudope : The only Prime minister to alienate the entire west, nearly losing the western prov indangered trade with USA + China

  • @jsilence418 I thought the subject was trudope? But since there is absolutely nothing positive about the nefarious little prick you try to turn it into a Mulgooney fest. sorry troll you fail as did 90% of the trudopes policies.Maybe you weren't born yet or are just naive. Trudope: the only prime minister to ever invoke the war measures act and nearly losing the Quebec Trudope : The only Prime minister to alienate the entire west, nearly losing the west prov , endangered trade with USA + China

  • @Garrys300 In the worlds eyes Canada stopped being a tory snivelling toady country crammed up the ass of the U.S., where shallow minds like you are comfortable! sure the U S was going to harm it's biggest and closest trading partner? hey they did a good job of brainwashing you and making you afraid! a good conservative you are!

  • @Garrys300 And please stop using the term trudope, unless of course you are a dim witted grade 8 student?

  • @jsilence418 ok how about Trudough then? still sidestepping the truth huh? free trade was/is good for Canada , the gst was 7% (half of tax it replaced) and is now only 5%, The chinese are now a trading partner Mulgooney started that ball rolling and Harper is implimenting it. To me that is a way more important to Canada then a prime minister that takes a back packing trip to China to study communism. tell me something positive about the sob and stop trying invent shit about other pms

  • @Garrys300 Of course being an acolyte of an incompetent bum kisser like mulroney you wouldn't have a clue about Canadian identity you know the thing tory governments try and strip away in the quest to be little America if it hadn't been for Trudeaus visit to beijing we would not be a proper trading partner as we are now the U.S. also benefit from the visit improving westrners in the eyes of the chinese and the image of an intellectual head of state is not one we could have had from brian

  • @jsilence418 Oh silly me ......I forgot all about Canadian identity and how Canadians are so stupid that they don't know who they are and they need a Lieberal to tell them who they are and need a nanny state to take care of them.So Trudough and his merry band sat down one day and wrote the charter of rights and freedoms,Liberal style. How do spell arrogance again? oh Ya, liberal party of Toronto.Truedope was a failure no arguement there enjoy your koolaid with the "American" wanna -be IGGY

  • @Garrys300 Speak for yourself loser, one too to thick realize the destructive path left by Canadas worst and most hated prime minister and( homliest) mulroney and uh most Canadians can spell Liberal idiot!

  • @Garrys300 Most thinkers point out if the U.S. is going to try and screw Canada it will be through Nafta as they already have ! hey suppose any of those brown paper bags containing cash are in any of those hotel rooms? that is the way to conduct business if you are an honest and above board individual isn't it? sleaze.

  • @jsilence418 and those would be "progressive " thinkers AKA= ndp I suppose ? If you meant homlly I dont ever remember hearing a spiritual or religous speech form Mulgooney (of course I never listened to any of his speechs or voted for him so the point is mute)If you meant Homely then you need spelling lessons as well. By the way most people outside of GTA refer to the liberals as LIEBERALS so its the spelling of the majority which is more important then the spelling of elites or wanna-bes

  • @Garrys300 Religious a speech from some one that lies under oath? being some kind of catholic, he probably had a fear of hell fire!

  • @sweiland75 Who needs personality in a PM? Harper is only one of the most respected world leaders in terms of understanding Economics. Did you see the respect he commanded at the G20. Like him, or hate him, he came off smelling like a rose and has Canada in pretty good economic shape compared to all G20 nations, and most of the world.

  • I remember when this happened.I was 7 and I wondered why my mom cracked up laughing. Now Trudeau's famous fuddle duddle speech is actually taught in some schools.lol

  • @ranchai100 hmmmm where do they teach that shit? GTA?

  • @Garrys300 actually I dont know about now,but in grade 2 our class was told of this incident,I havent a clue why but we were.Of course this was the same class where they taught us to say the alphabet backwards and I can tell you that skill is only good for drunken house party's.lol

  • @ranchai100 lol lol good one After the fuddle duddle fiasco a whole line of wines came out of the Okanagan ,the 1st one being called fuddle duck, the rest I dont know but I think they carried duck labels ?

  • love how he brushes off the media, walks out saying "god you guys are.... " now what did he mouth to finish off that statment lol

  • classic trudeau.

  • " what were you thinking when you moved your lips"?..........lol

  • fuddle duddle lmao, sounds like an elderly persons version of fuck off

  • @sweiland75 and an american puppet

  • Now thats a Prime Minister! Bring back another Treadu!

  • @EnlightenedArab agreed, the liberals need to go back to their roots if theyre gonna survive

  • Greedy ass losers from Faggotville, Ontario. You guys don't appreciate hardwork like us Albertans. You guys arnt entitled to what alberta has. Quit bitchin and go eat some shit.

  • @boarderfever um hard work? environmental destruction? a fucking huge ass mess that is a stain on all Canadians? a place that has the least taxes and still complains? I say Alberta isn't entitled to what it has

  • Comment removed

  • I wish he would've said "fuck off" and leave at the end.

  • "the first word starting with F and the second word starting with O" LMAO pity how much the society has changed since then..... LOL

  • What is the difference between God and Stephen Harper ...God does not thinkhe is harper...:)

  • "What does mouthed mean?" LOL!! What a hilarous response. This man was brilliant, especially with the press.

  • Harper is certainly not a "leader" like the charismatic Obama prez - wood comes to mind too - but hes extremely well educated and versed with economic matters and what was wrong with the "government way" of doing things. Hes not out of touch with the west as far as that is concerned.

  • Go crying to momma lol lol lol lol

  • wasn't he really mean to western canada or something?

anyways, i love the song that stemmed from this. tis my new cure for stress.

did he seriously die? i thought he was still alive

  • He wasn't mean to western Canada. Western Canada was pissed off with Trudeau because he made everything bilingual in Canada.

Seriously, people in Calgary and Vancouver don't give a damn about the French language.

  • @Bojaxs true loll seems like it since they are so far away fomr quebec loll

  • @Bojaxs he killed or tryed to kill most of the western economy and showed nothing but contempt for everything west of winipeg .As to the french language, the west didnt give a shit about and still dont. why would they ?Alberta has a french pop of about 1% and BC 1/2 % .believe me its not an issue. After truedopes antics the liberals ended up with 0 seats west of the great lakes and still only get a few in the poor neighborhoods in a handful of cities in the west.

  • @gocanadayayyy yea he died in 2000. no he wasent mean, the west (.I.E) Alberta were too greedy and did not want to share ther resources with the poorer provinces in the National Energy Program

  • @Gardenstatehomecomin uh, i live in alberta... i don't think that's the case... that's not what my parents told me when i was a kid, anyways.

  • @gocanadayayyy yes its the case Alberta had soo much money and what the programm would have done is redistribute the money. and let me guesse your parents were ether social credit or PC right?

  • @gocanadayayyy your parents were correct Truedope was a nefarious little sob

  • @Gardenstatehomecomin more like he attempted to rob Alberta and give it to Quebec for votes. The end result was 0 Liberal seats west of winnipeg for a long time .And look at the liberals now baababaabaahahahahaha they are the laughing stock of the whole country outside of GTA You can thank your evil little basturd for that

  • @Garrys300 yes. do you think i'm from Toronto? and i wouldn't say zero more like a good 20 seats but yea lol, beacause the Pc's with 72 seats in total at the time is so much better eh? acctually the west IE Saskatchewan, Manitoba and BC all were gobbled up by the NDP. MOST NDP seats of that time were in the west and MOST PC seats were in the maritimes and ontario.

  • I too find Pierre Trudeau an interesting individual. A sharp and quick witted person, who when asked to give a response to the obvious, will give an answer that that shames the presses arrogance.

  • I find trudeau really interesting. Shame he wasn't my PM

  • oh give me a fucking break, because he swore at a black person he was racist? What a stupid implication.

  • Comment removed

  • Why on earth does this sort of thing always resort to a discussion of race? Don't be so stupid....

  • Thanks! He is from my home town! I wish I met him before he died.

  • Does anyone know if the first interviewee featured in this clip is the famous Newfoundlander MP, John Lundrigan?

  • news geeks are pathetic.....thanks g-d for the internet ....at least one can get real discussion and not a load of propoganda and horse manure

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, I love this country. We're so wacky.

  • it was a prussian pointed helmet.

but yeah the sentiment is still the same.

  • This was the viewpoint of many of those in Quebec during first and second World War. :/ It's natural that he would've been influenced by the ideas he grew up with. However, judging from his efforts to settle things between English and French speaking Canada (bilingualism anyone?) I think it's safe to say he broke away from the ideas of his youth and matured to do broader, better things.

  • @boomer42460 ok, that was a joke. He had a German ww1 uniform on and a friend of his wore a French ww1 uniform and they rode around as a joke.

  • Funniest PM evah!

  • 00:48 - I like how this guy is so offended that not only will not say the 'F'-Word ("Fuck"), he can't even bring himself to say the word "off"!

  • does the parliamentary website

have the hansard for that particular

    session?

  • Those guys deserved to be told to FO because they were pissin off the PM. What's the problem????

  • I wish we had another Trudeau. At least he knew what to do without the political bull crap. The only person I see that can resemble him is Obama. (walking in burger joints like anyone else, saying sweety and has rock star flair.) Not a snob what so ever.

  • i still like trudeau

    better than obama

    :)

  • That's true. He not only opened trade with Cuba 30 years before the U.S. (because Obama is going to remove the embargo in 2010), he opened up more trade with other countries to lighten our dependance on the Amrican market, brought the constitution home, made bilingual official and had play boy bunnies at one of his parties during office. Girls went after him, he legalized homosexuality and gave us the open society rep. after Pearson. Obama is in his shadow. Not even he has that much guts.

  • PLAYBOY BUNNIES!?

    ARE YOU SERIOUS!

  • I saw them in a pic with him. XD Not even JFK or Clinton did that. LOLs He even danced behind the queen's back. Now that's balls you can't get without being crazy.

  • do you by chance

    have that pic :D

  • Sadly I don't, but if you watch the episode of Greatest Canadian with him, then you'll see it.

  • Yes. Ever heard of Trudeaumania? Girls, including playboy bunnies, were chasing after him. He was THAT charismatic!

  • of course i've heard of trudeau!

  • I wasn't talking of Trudeau, I was talking of TRUDEAUMANIA. You were wondering why Trudeau was being courted by Playboy bunnies. the answer is: trudeaumania. wiki it and discover what TRUDEAUMANIA was all about.

  • my mistake and yes, i have heard of

    trudeaumania

  • The guy had so much balls that he visited a playoy restaurant and he shot a gun up in the air two times to win his first public debate against the church when the priest judge anounced the other guy the winner due to "preferance". He wasn't affraid to get his hands in messy and sensitive subjects the polititions didn't want to touch. Man, I wish we can clone him. LOL XD

  • Trudeau had balls!!

  • @ottvalley Yah, he had balls, the problem was he made sure he took them away from everybody else through some of his poor legislation by the time he left politics.

  • We need another Trudeau for sure. Love him or hate him, he did elicit responses XD

  • Now this, I like! Trudeau could really get you going in one way or another!

Thanks to the CBC for posting!

  • Canada needs another Trudeau. Even if it's just to shake things up.

  • hmm, a word that started with F and a word that started with O. scary!... hm! was it FUCK OFF??

    haha trudeau's the best
