Jolie says resettlement has to begin now, protected it seems by US occupation. Will her plea make the US pour in the funds for such a massive operation to the UN and NGO agencies, even pay the US membership debt to the UN? I doubt it. If anything, Halliburton would just set up a resettlement corporation for more no bid contracts. But the war has nearly bankrupted America already. So the net effect of this well intended speech will probably only be a longer occupation, not resettlement aid.

Its funny isn't it. You spend an estimated 3 trillion to "democratize" a place, 1.4 million die, (ORB Report) nearly 5% of the pop. 50% face some personal catastrophe. 2 million run to a new town and another 2 flee across the border. Now we can spend another 3 trillion, get these friends of ours back peacefully, and then, er... the occupation can end, right? Mission accomplished.
