The former cars i mentioned are all relying on the "Richness factor" and are hence stupendously overpriced. Hopefully the japs will show them that their days of being "exclusive for the filthy rich" are over.

why does everybody hate on american muscle cars? their just another type of car. People are like 'i like going fast', but since america has some bad cars, people hate on all american cars. People like to go fast. The point of a muscle car is raw power and intimidation. why hate?

@ericwps well I don't think people really hate anything here on youtube. Its just that people generally exaggerate here. For me though muscle cars are not my favorite because one they don't have that luxury prestige german cars have, and two they generally don't' handle well. So sure they're good to drive, but usually these cars like the covervette are not the ones that turn heads.

One of things I like more about this car is it doesn't seems a "dreamcar", it's particular, finely shaped, but still isnt "exagerate" like a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, it is more near to a category of supercars with "maserati granturismo" or "ferrari FF" or "porsche panamera": a kind of car which is fast as hell, but in the meanwhile, useful for an everyday life.... i like it even more than the other supercar even for this reason!!

Why are all the comments for this video arguing between the Zr1 and the GTR? They aren't comparable, heavy awd 4 seater vs light plastic race car. The GTR is the more civilized all rounder but the Zr1 is more of a thrill.

@1PDee As a GT-R owner it is obvious you've read two articles back in '09 and made your assumptions. The transmission launch issue is resolved and literally impacted less than 30 GT-Rs worldwide. LC2 still rips your face off launching at 3200RPM with ZERO tire slip. The dealers I've been to in So Cal are mod friendly even with an AccessPORT reflash pushing the car into the 575WHP range with no issues. There is a huge majority of owners who track 5-15 times a year with 0 issues.

personally i respect the gtr, but this car is still not up to par. the transmission gives out quickly. if you actually decide to mod it the lifespan of the car goes down. plus is it really fun to drive a car that has all the computers do the cornering and races for you? sure it goes fast, sure it can keep up with a porsche on track. but its not made to be driven so hard so often. to top it off a circus monkey can probably drive this car. Porsche could make a car like this, they chose not too

Do you domestic idiots know the difference between motor/ crank and wheel HP?

ZR1 puts down 638hp 600tq and 09-11 GT-R puts down 485 hp and 430tq. All tests I've seen have been fairly close 1/4 times and lap times favor the GT-R. '12 GT-R with 0-60 at 2.9 sec > ZR1 1/4 mile. '13 Shelby Mustang won't be close to ZR1 GT-R>ZR1>Stang>any other domestic...

BTW ZR1 lists for $130k GT-R lists for $88k...

@sarconista You are not very intelligent are you? The Nissan GT-R is Cheaper by about $40,000. Nissan GT-R is priced in at $88,000 and the ZR1 is priced at S133,000. Also the GT-R is a circuit car not a muscle car, so the top speed won't be as high as a car that is built to go in a straight line. Also its only 7 miles faster then the GT-R. So by value GT-R is much better. Search up the facts next time.

The ZR-1 still performs better. Not only does it have much more power, but its lighter weight allows it to corner more easily. The only performance advantages the GT-R has are a superior launch (thanks to its 4WD drivetrain), more stablility (due to the ATTESA-ETS system) and better acceleration at low gears (since the ZR-1, at that point, would still be spinning its wheels before it can actually put down all 640 ponies).
