  • Damn you cells, why wont you accept the insulin signal!

  • @BeamSurfer

When the body breaks them down the excessive rush of fat and sugar content distorts hormone regulation that can damage cells. Basically its like bashing your head against the wall. When there are fluctuations like this cells will start to ignore the response of insulin for the reason that cells can no longer store the excessive fat and glucose.

  • @BeamSurfer

The pancreas continues to pump insulin into the blood vessels forcing cells to take up the extra fat and glucose. Too much glucose in blood causes thickening which will lead to heart attacks and damaging vital organs like kidneys.

Forcing a full cell to take more in is like shoving food into someone who is already vomiting. Eventually this will lead to cells ignoring insulin.

  • @441meatloaf

I appreciate your explanation even though you were not talking to me. You just taught me something new today.

  • i had this for over 7 years..

  • Is it possible that you will have this for another 7 years if you don't figure out that your problem is a lot more involved than just needing insulin? Is insulin a tweak? Sort of like solve one problem and ignore all the rest?

  • i dunno XD

  • @purplekushpro Spam, nice job.

  • @tickyul spam ? how so ? explain as your comment makes no sense

  • @purplekushpro You are pushing some unproven, BS diet. Lol, your comments on this video got closed because of the spammish nature of what you wrote. Maybe you are not spamming........but, the YT community has given you the thumbs down.....try again and drop the Infomercial tone.

  • @tickyul how are you saying its unproven ? i have 1st hand knowledge it works in my native community with many whom followed the diet and regulated their blood sugar with no need for insulin shots or pills of any kind....that is all i can offer

  • Yep, I defintely have metabolic syndrome, Let myself go a bit. I Stopped all junk and am exercising, scale does not want to budge. Even 5 years ago, if I would have done the same thing, pounds would have dropped quickly. Thick abdominal fat, high BP, high LDL, low HDL, prediabetic fasting glucose levels if I start eating too many carbs, just to name a few of the symptoms I have. No ones fault but my own. Carbs are very problematic for me, eat too many and I get constant painful hunger. Cheers!

  • @tickyul

Me too. I was just diagnosed with the syndrome as well. I got into a depressing stupor 5 years ago and just let myself go. The doctor put me on meds and I'm trying to find ways to change my diet and exercise.

    Cheers to you!

  • @Sephirah777 Are you taking Metformin, if you are does it help? I managed to get down to my ideal weight and feel pretty good, but I think my problem is just in check and I will really have to watch it. I did basically zero carbs for 5 months and have switched off to a more moderate diet for a while, will probably go back to the high fat/ low-no carbs in a while, really makes the appetite go away. And whatever you do stay away from the Chinese Buffets

  • @tickyul

Yes, I am taking Metformin. It helps a little.

I haven't went to the Chinese buffets either in a while. I've been trying to watch out for things high in sodium and high in sugar. My hubby got me a puppy for my B-day so I've been getting plenty of exercise chasing her outside.

Glad to hear you have dropped to your ideal weight, now if I can do the same thing it will be all gravy. (Yes, I'm staying away from that too. >_<

  • @Sephirah777 Well, I just came of a 5 month cycle of basically no carbs, worked pretty good but it was getting kinda old. I am now trying different ways of eating, maybe 2 days of no carbs, then a carb meal. How did you get diagnosed with IR and what were your symptoms? Did you have a Gtt done, did you have a Glucose/insulin ratio calculated for both fasting and nonfasting, did you have a 5-6 hour glucose/insulin tolerance test? What type of diet works best for you?

  • @tickyul

As of now I'm not on any restricted diet. I just try to limit my portions and try to avoid adding salt to anything that I cook. My husband got me a dog so I think going out for walks helps with exercise.

I took a fasting glucose test and a non fasting glucose test which led to the doctor discovering my insulin levels were dangerously high. As far as symptoms go, I have those dark discolorations all over my body and stay very irritable. At times my mind is in a fog.

  • @Sephirah777 The reason I ask is because a Gtt is only part of the picture, measuring insulin alongside glucose is the best way to see what is going on. Have you tried low carb? The reason I mention it is because high levels of insulin are not good for you. The dark patches are called Acanthosis Nigricans, a symptoms of high levels of insulin. The body can use fat for energy, it just needs time to adapt to this for of fuel, requires a lot less insulin.

  • Sephirah777, you limit your portions of what?

Are you eating healthy, grass fed beef? Or very unhealthy, high glycemic index pasta with spaghetti sauce that's full or corn syrup? If you want to be healthy, you MUST give up sugar and corn syrup.

I hear a lot of excuses - Oh, I could never give up sugar.

Then stay fat and have a heart attack.

Most people would rather die, literally die, than give up their junk food, their alcohol or their cigarettes.

  • @AppleSouffle

I agree with what you're saying, but I crave more starches than I do sugary goods. Yes, starch turns to sugar which is where the sugar is coming from. My main issue is water retention which mostly comes from excess salt, not sugar!

I check my sugars all of the time and they are perfect, so that's not it.

I was told I might have a blood pressure problem more than anything. BTW, that beef that your talking about is too expensive for my budget, so unless you want to pay for me.....

  • @AppleSouffle I can tell you personally that my wife Sephirah777 is doing the best she can to lose weight. We have no money to buy health food, and most of that health food crap isn't even sold in our small town supermarket. Grass fed beef, what the hell is that? I thought all cows are fed grass or some type of grains. Anyway you're telling us shit we already know but can do nothing about. STOP JUDGING PEOPLE AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

  • @KujoDaTrollEater Just wanted to let you and your wife know, if your bodies tissues have plenty of glucose in them it will cause water retention, much the same way that sodium causes fluid retention, water is attracted to both molecules. I personally do not think it makes much difference what labels they put on beef, it is pretty much the same, all cows are grass fed, some just go to finishing lots for a little while before they are butchered...big deal. Good luck!

  • @tickyul Thank you for you're helpful information and kind words.

  • @KujoDaTrollEater Well, good luck to you and your wife. Not to preach but, in my opinion, for most people with a carbohydrate metabolism disorder you cannot beat a high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet.

  • @tickyul Most cows are corn fed.

  • @youbintubinallday As a supplement, out on the regular lots they eat grass too. Many cows (not all) spend their last couple of weeks in a finishing lot where there diet is mainly grains.......that helps them put on a lot of weight in a short period of time.

  • @tickyul True. Grains are always the best way to fatten up livestock, dogs, cats, chickens, geese - almost any mammal or bird in fact.

  • @drcldrcl What bothers me is when people point out that most livestock is fed grains......as a way to discourage people from eating meat. HEY, I am not going to pay 2-4 times as much for the meat I eat because it is NOT finished on grain feedlot. From what I have read, meat in general has never been a very good source of Omega 3. I eat a lot of fish and Omega 3 eggs.....but I will not pay 12.99 for a pound of yuppified, oeverpriced meat.

  • hehe funny accent

  • how much carbs proteins and fats can your body store before it will start to utilise your fat cells ?

  • it depends on your body mass, lean body mass, and your level of activity or how conditioned you are for athletic exercise/ work

  • algo entendi, yo tengo eso de insulino resistencia, pero se que estare bien. :)

  • aqi iwal, me dices que sintomas tuviste o tienes?
