I wonder when old praise songs weren't enough to please God. Now, we have to have the "sound" of today to praise Him.  That's just an excuse to get more and more of the world into the church. You don't need a choregraphed (sp) routine to praise God. Love this song!

@d9jack many of the "old" praise songs were "old" bar tunes rewritten to bring people into the church. Just cause it's old doesn't make it better, but it definitively doesn't make it worse either. ^_^

I went to a new church recently with an "old school" choir and they started with this hymn. I appreciate that way more than these churches with the modern "praise bands." This is how you do Church! Praise the Lord!

Music is great...its fun...and the church's are a big part of the promotion of it...I also think music was a big reason religion ended up popular...its great advertising and a fine way to SELL the idea of there being an invisible man in the sky...love this song hehe...african american baptists churches are the best
