I feel the need to listen to this song about once a day, at least.. Definitely within my top 3 favorite Jeffrey Lee Pierce songs, if not number 1. He's so brilliant - it's difficult to pick a favorite!!
Ja de beste meuk uit de jaren 80. Seen time twice in Rotterdam and the Haque.Amazing how pierce keep the fire burning. And there were moment he was as cold as ice. We will never forget him R.I.P.
listened in a bare living room surrounded by empty flagons of wine with roof banging neighbours and the screaming fighting queers down the hall... and i was all alone in the palm drunken night
listened to this in the living room filled with empty flagons and roof banging neighbours, down the corridor the fag couple screamed and fought.. and i was all alone in the palm drunkemn night
@maurice2002 O.K. "traverses all genres?""""""""" Cliches are as bad as boxes, but "boxing" things into categories is what humans do!! This was brand new when it came out - when I said "we" called it cow puck, I meant a few of my friends and I - We we 18 fucking years old! Music "like this" and others is not as profound as you want to make it. Sometimes it isjust good music. Americans (and 1 French person) read way to much into talent. Please don't intellectualize this.
When this band first came out, we called it cow punk - I don't think psychobilly was a term back then, but then again, I am from the country, so this music speaks to me.

it seems that Jeffery is playing the lead guitar part on this but perhaps it was Dave Alvin

@jonnyboyW20 well there were palm trees in StKilda back then; a bit of a Melbourne Miami. Palm drunken head in hand though.

pyschobilly/ cow punk??? what the fuck... please don't continue to box music into set genres.....
especially music like this that traverses all genre's.
It just so safe to 'compartmentalize' music......
