  • But anyway, with all due respect, I don't think you're that good of "critic."

Justin as a player > you as a "critic."

Enough said. No disrespect, just pointing out the obvious fact that you don't know everything like you think you do.

  • And turtling is a vital portion of MvC2 as much as it is in the other games aforementioned. You just don't see it as often with teams like MSP (Magneto/Storm/Psylocke), MSS (Magneto/Storm/Sentinel), and other various teams that revolve around Magneto being on point. Why, you ask? Because Magneto isn't much of a turtling character, durrh! If you see more Cables and Sentinels on the screen, then you'll see turtling.

  • MSP and MSS don't exactly turlte but the counter assist call all the time which is what many turtlers do. MSS vs MSP is an example. MSP has psylocke so if MSS Magneto tries to attack, psylocke will counter any hit Magneto tries to use and will be punished. MSS can counter-counter assist as well. Wait for Psylocke to be called then call Sentinel Proj. to hurt Psylocke while you super jump away or up and over.

  • 0:30 - "I think the other guy is supposed to get a turn to hit him."

    What a joke.

  • Lol, I hear Melee talk =)

  • Wow Isaac thought he was nice lol. When he doesn't catch a snap or double snap he plays like shit. He looks like he doesn't know what to do against Justin's mag or storm. Maybe it's the pressure or that justin is mad smart but wow just cause he got all hype from beating sent/cable team in the beginning he thought it was gonna be easy. Every time he trijumps, unless psylocke hits, he doesn't know what to do like all hope is lost. Wow really disappointing cause I thought he was gonna win too.

  • Damn you can hear those morons in the back.

  • Justin wong placed 2nd in evo this year in, and 1st in marvel vs capcom 2 so he's good in both lol

  • wow, lol. Spanked? You're probably talking about that stupid parry video, but being one of the top in the country is not getting spanked fyi. He didn't get perfected or anything, he made a bad call with a full screen super.

  • no, show me a tournament justin wong has won by not turtling in the corner and i will retract my statement. but until then, anyone can do what he does. the parry video has nothing to do with my previous statement.

  • You can think whatever you want, but Justin played Marvel before he played 3S. You can hate the game but you cannot deny that the better player will win. Wong has placed very high in every tournament he's played.

Sure Chun li is very good at turtling, but that has nothing to do with winning the tournament. He knows how to play well.

If anyone can do what he does, then why don't you prove it. You can say whatever you want, but without action it's just a shallow insult.

  • there is no such thing as turtling that is just a word that people with no defense say about players with good defense.HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE MAD AT SOMEONE WHO LIKES TO BLOCK

  • Because blocking is just a shitty way of making the opponent do something else, there are rules against it in SBO. Not only that, Justin Wong is highly ridiculed in Japan for being such a shitastic player. Watch anything where he isn't doing something like this and anyone can see. As for Blocking and turtling; they are completely viable and easy; it just lacks skill. Especially in SF3 where you can parry. I stand by that this is a joke match and a joke game.

  • yeah i agree when it comes to street fighter 3 turtling is annoying. But to tell me that good defense is shitty way of playing and it lack skills is a little ridiculous. You make it sound like blocking shouldnt be allow at all just constant attacking

  • So what you're saying is that no one should block. So I should just take the hit ? Are you listening to yourself. The kinds of ignorant things you are saying comes out of the mouth of people who can't handle losing or can't think of ways to rush your opponent down without getting everything blocked. That's why there are mix-ups in every game. You've got to keep your opponent guessing. Not just running the same strategy every time.

  • The difference between block spamming and parrying is completely different. Parrying offers time to counter attack or to begin blocking the follow up attack. I am just saying that block spamming is silly in games like SF3 for being a professional in the circuit.

  • And who are you exactly ? I don't think that I've ever heard of you in any cicuit. And parrying is a technique that's used in SF3 because it's a vital mechanic in the game. In

    MVC2 there is push guard.

  • I am a critic. I stated exactly what I saw, read my earlier comments. And I know plenty about both of those games to critique them both. Who I am is irrelevant. People think Justin Wong is such a great player when he really isn't is my point. Has been since my first comment.

  • So do I. I've been playing MVC2 for 8 years and at CF for a majority of that time as well as competitively for the past 4. That doesn't mean that I can "critique" however I feel like it especially when it seems like complaining and whining.

  • Why can't you critique a player or the game? Especially if you have put so much time into it? That doesn't make sense. I am a great TS and GGXC player, thats why I can be a critic. Why not? I have spent plenty of time playing fighting games to be able to recognize juggling (in the case of this game and particular match) vs. skill and finesse.

  • The basic mechanics of any fighter, is

    block > attacking

    attack > throws

    throws > block

the real flaw with mvc2 is that helper characters can get trapped and beat to death with launching firece punches, Capcom never accounted for that.

  • All of it is relative to execution. For example; throwing in MvC2 is relatively difficult and somewhat useless. This game is broken because you can rely on infinite juggles to win the game for you. Not only that; but better yet; people think it takes skill to do.

  • well, juggling doesnt require the skill of a genius, but its not easy for novice players. like I cant do it... yet. :)

I think what people enjoy is when, 2 expert players manage to outsmart each other, and one dominates even if they both use top players.

but I cant fault capcom, they just couldnt predict how deeply people deconstruct their engine, but they should have predicted that.

but MVC3 is in the works according to kevin faige at marvel. I just hope they keep it 2D

  • In my personal opinion, MvC2 takes more than a handful of skill to play. Playing Marvel has taught me so much, including fundamentals of fighting games, in which I use to play other games that I'm not so great at (i.e. 3s, CvS2, etc).

I don't understand why you're saying it takes no skill to perform these combos in the same situations and against the same people in this game. YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME.

  • If it really did take NO skill at all, EVERYONE would play Marvel and EVERYONE would be GOOD at it. But that ISN'T the case. Even games like 3s, CvS2, a3, and especially sf4 take as much skill to play as Marvel, if not less.

  • Everything can be hard until you learn it. Once you learn it, it's generally easy. Then when you learn harder or easier stuff, you just do comparisons to what's easy and what's easier. But either way, it's not like you are inputting everything ahead of time and waiting for them to come out, you have to input the commands at the right time. That why ROM infinites aren't all looking exactly the same. They are modified along the way according to the height of the character. Same with Ironman.

  • u have any idea how hard and tricky it is to do a snapback at the right time? if they snap only the helper while the main blocks then the main will punish pretty easily, You should PLAY this game first be4 you make stupid comments

  • you're better than me.

  • Snapback is easy. Once you see Psylocke hit, it's Snapback. You can snap back generally with most assists. Magneto can actually Snap out a character then guard break then next character into ROM, ten around almost 40 its snap that character out and keep repeating it. He can do this to the whole team until they are dead. Magneto just needs one juggle hit or psylocke to hit then he's in business. Now where's the Easy Button...

  • Justin Wong is my hero

  • Why?

  • His comeback against Yipes.

  • Who do you think has a better MSP?

  • I'm not fit to judge that, I'm just a scrubby Shuma player.

  • Yipes. easily.

  • hahaha sol vs ky ¬¬se escucha al fondo...

  • Nice

  • Sick Double snapbacks
