It is scientifically proven that the lifetime of the block will be considerablly reduced under high boost, high RPM conditions (such as this farting hatch back thing)
Durability wise, the aluminum 1.7 or whatever it is, is going to blow up, warp, crack before the cast iron 3800 will, under say 30lbs of boost
most street civics that make 500ish whp probably run 24lbs at most depending on turbo size of course and they also dont run directly in aluminum, they use ductile iron sleevs also depends what what turbo/fuel management you use, i have seen plenty of 10-11 sec street civics last for many years and put 70k+ miles on the motors, All i got to say is HONDA- recived no money and is infact still makeing money, GM- got billions of dollars a couple mo ago and their allredy broke again LOL honda FTW

Anyway, being a previous owner of a 1997 Bonneville SSEi with the 3.8L Supercharged engine and having extensively modding it before selling it, i know what gm's 3800 is all about, what its capable of, and what is available for it

Its not a rev limiter! Its called launch control or 2 step! The first name says it all "Launch Control", you take of as fast as you can without losing traction!
so if the hatch won that means its a 9 sec civic... or atleast low 10's... or am i wrong?
