  • I saw her alive in Casa da Musica and since then i can't help to listen to her music at least once per month.

    I hope she comes back.

  • I saw her at the Acoustic Africa show in Berkeley a few years ago. She was amazing.

  • Wow in Berkeley! One of my favorite places...sure had a lot of good times there! Where did she play? Ashkenaz? Stone? Nice to get comment from fellow Bay Area resident. : )

Cassidy - The Dreaming Is Real Channel

  • She performed at the Zellerbach at U.C. Berkeley. It was a good venue. It was good seeing her perform with Habib Koite and Vusi Mahlasela. That whole show was awesome. Dobet is such a good singer and dancer.

  • Music is the universal language, it know no borders. Music is love.

  • I simply love this song. It makes me cry. Thank you ^^

  • Good vibes

Plenty of great music comes from Africa; Senegal Mbalax, Ethiopia jazz, Egyptian Saidi,...

  • So true Herb! I'm a big fan of Mali Blues mesself... To say nothing of Tuareg guitar rebel anthems!

  • Imparts such an enveloping, glorious feeling! What does "Nuit Blanche" translate to? TY C do

  • "Nuit Blanche" means: white night... as in NO SLEEP that is! It is a yearly event, in Brussels, with music going on in hundreds of places in the city, some events for free some not, all night long. This is only one of the tons of music events that take place year round in the amazing 'inter-cultural lab' that Brussels is ; )

  • thanks Cassy Jones very beautiful

  • Cultural Cool!

  • I think song is called PALEA. Don't the gentleman is, but I think he is from South Africa. I confess ignorance as far as the language in which she sings, but he sings in Arabic, though not with a native accent. You would be amazed how many different languages African artists singin! Of course, Ali Farka Touré was the champion of that, trying as he did to play numbers in the local tongues of the locales he played at. Enjoy!
