I see her French hasn't improved... Lovely timbre for this aria, but doesn't have the breath control to save it from going flat. Valiant effort, however.
I agree - most of you say "it is nice, or quite beautiful" . What I miss is SOUL - She is singing it with her head. Certainly a beautiful voice, but that is not enough . Maybe she should have waited as some of you pointed out. Nevertheless - thank you!
This is a wonderful effort; but not even Anna Nebtrebko can take this aria from Ninnon Vallin, whose rendering is only divine... Nevertheless, what a wonderful thing to hear.... Thank you!
she has the right timbre and richness in her voice for this piece, and its quite beautiful so I understand her wanting to sing it, however, she's not quite there yet technically to really pull it off...she needs more breathe control in order to connect the phrases and more importantly "float" the high notes and be able to do pianissimi...she can do it but it would have been better a few years down the line. I admire her efforts though and the enunciation is not deplorable.
@eugenelohks yes but really, she is nearing her 40's so her technique should be sound by now, especially for these types of one-off arias...yes in the end she should have waited, especially since she doesnt do many recitals or concerts to perform this in.
Because I was jolted when I read "Anna Netrebko" and "Charpentier" in the title... I directly thought of Marc-Antoine Charpentier and couldn't believe that Netrebko would venture into such repertoire... As I always say... leave Baroque music to the Baroque specialists :)
@daniel0azar She's not Ninon Vallin -- but on this number few people are! Nevertheless, AN brings that dark chocolate to bear very favourably on an old number. . .

Qualcuno le suggerisca di ascoltare prima di cantare la sua Louise, Dorothy Maynor... e poi se il caso lasciare perdere. E' perfino stonata!!!

@jgdmol4l Or more likely she should have waited a few more years and trained for much much more technique before she debuted?

Hello :)
This is Gustave Charpentier, right?
