  • I agree that it's his best work since Pulp Fiction, good review. Did you see True Romance?

  • this movie was just too fucking good, a masterpiece

    9.8/100

  • Inglourious Basterds has the best written dialogue in cinema history.

  • tarentino sucks once you start watching Hong Kong cinema and find that he has stolen so many scenes

  • I personally hated this movie, I saw it late so I heard mountains of hype so maybe that affected my interpretation of it. To me it was all reading subtitles and the occasional "over-the-top" violence and overall predictable.

  • This movie celebrates the senseless torture of human beings, Nazi or not this is just sick.

  • I surprised you don't have a more logical reaction to this movie. Aren't you concerned that it's a justification for war crimes?

  • Inglorious basterds is a sick, disgusting, hate filled, jew terrorist propaganda movie. Imagine the scandal the fucking kike owned media would make if there was a movie made about crushing the heads of israeli terrorists

  • @UFCMania98 Uh, almost every single modern day war movie involves Israeli terrorists.

  • @UFCMania98 Also, that's an argument against the overreaction of Islam in the media, not Jews being the victim in a movie.

  • I thought the movie would be crap...then I've watched it and I would be right if there was no Colonel SS Hans Landa :D:D

    it was fucking awesome :)

  • I never realized until now that you had a reviews account too. 'rrivederci.

  • David Lynche, Tim Burton, and Quentin Tarantino... That's really... weird.

  • Didnt like IB to be honest... Acting was pretty good, but the story line was kinda terrible, especialy the ending

  • Areva Derche>>>hahah

  • I watched this movie because of you. I was surprised it was so good. Thanks

  • IB was a typical Jewish revenge flick. Which pretty much makes it garbage. Don't waste your time with this one. It could have been much better.

  • @FaganRoberts

you sir are retarded. i didn't LOVE the movie, but it does not even remotely resemble a "revenge flick".

in fact, your comment gives me the distinct impression that you haven't even seen it. that and you're a racist prick.

  • @Robstailey You boldy claim to lucidly watch as an archetypical WW2 anti-Fascist film with a blatant accompaning Semitic revenge motiff and you cannot bring yourself to openly admit you love it? What are you hiding? You inconsequential, sheepish, intolerant, small minded, ignorant, cheesey shit eating inglourious little basterd! LOL!

  • @FaganRoberts

lol this guys a scientologist im like 85% sure

  • The Jew Hunter reminded me of Walter Koenig's (Star Trek's Chekov) character from Babylon 5, Alfred Bester, a Psicop who hunted rogue telepaths. Both characters were educated, sadistic, ruthless, convinced of their kind's superiority. They even almost look alike.

  • the part where the girl gets shot at the end was absolutely well done omg im still shaking after watching that movie

  • Did anyone notice the parallels between the manner the Nazi propaganda portrayed their protagonist during the shooting scene, and the manner in which the heroes in the movie were portrayed during their shooting scenes? There is no way that was accidental. Even the close-ups were similar.

  • david lynch, tim burton and tarantino.. i instantly loved this review before you even started..

  • more evil than the nazi with the scar on his palm whose face melts off in Raiders of the Lost Ark? i don't know about that

  • it was good to watch....thats it though, watching that was like being in An Americans imagination of world war 2,..as we know they won WWII all by themselves apparently, they even won the battle of Britain and they made the atom too lol. It was a good madeup storyline but that was it.

  • @britishgoose01 AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

  • @wubbadubdub lol, well come on US not many countries like ya these days

  • Hugo Sti Glitz ROCKED!!!

    :-D

  • booyaka:)

  • acting: 9?

i dont want to sound like a jerk (which i probably will) but i hated Brad Pit's performance... it was the first time i hated his acting. Am I being unfair?...

  • @pbtorre i didn't think he added much to the movie -- except star power, which might have helped it succeed. i kept thinking, "there must be some less well-known guy who would be infinitely better for this part, infinitely more convincing." t

  • a "redneck" Bonjourno, Crissy. i thoroughly agree how you expressed the brilliance. contemplating what you said, you mentioned all i appreciated.

    Film Noir 1930s Technicolor feel.

i love how Brad Pitt's character shatters southern stereotype. you'd think 1940s rednecks would be racist & side with Nazis. but he surprises you with a redneck Intellectualism & wit.

i love how he pronounced Italian with Kentuckian accent yet no one notices. i laughed harder than i have in decades! LOL "Areva dairchi"

  • When I first saw the trailers of this movie, I didnt get whether I'd hate or love it.

After I saw the actual thing, I made up my mind to: I hate it. There was not a moment during the film that I enjoyed, I honestly think it was the worst thing I ever saw.

I really tryed to see the point of the movie, but I was never able to. All the time, I thought "oh come on, find something positive"...well, I didnt.

The movie's a crime when viewed by people uneducated about WW2...

  • At first I hated the ending because I found it ridiculous, but I then heard that it was 'Hollywood's version of WWII.' I ended up really liking it. But I dislike Burton because all his films are the exact same, and whatever originality he had has been hijacked by those damn goth/scene kids.

  • Virtuoso film-making, but it still bugged me how Tarantino changed history without some kind of excuse. Metaphor, symbolism, alternate realities, parallel universes? I'm not picky at this point. i want to love the movie but that's my hang-up.

  • @ThePhantomBlacksmith lol he doesn't give a fuck. He has brain-damage or soemthing lol. He's a crowd-pleaser, that's the only real reason. It's his worst flaw if you ask me but I'm into deeper stuff... I'm not a Tarantino fan but I liked this one cause it has symbolism with me personally...

    :-D

  • Great movie and spot-on review... I am now going to go back and watch everything Brad Pitt has ever been in.

  • @mikatollah SEVEN

    a real movie for thinkers...

  • God! (just joking) That was gross, I thought I was going to puke.

Don't watch this if you are squeamish.

  • I noticed she uses three fingers to indicate the number three. I think I'll start a list. That's UK, US, and Romania so far.

  • i LOVED Inglourious Basterds..i've seen avatar and i gotta say i didn't like it but IB remains the most thrilling experience i've ever had in the movie theatre..

  • Criss is a Bear Jew.

  • Criss have yuou seen four rooms? if not you must see it.

  • Well there's no accounting for taste i guess.

I thought the film was the most tedious pile of pretentious, self-indulgent crap i've sat through since...well since Kill Bill actually.

It's so frustrating because QT is clearly capable of making great movies (see: Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown), but instead he chooses to piss his talent away on all of these bizarre vanity projects.

  • yea i think ingllorious basterds was a load of wishful thinking......what people wish they could have done to hitler.

  • Tarantino is a genius.

  • Saw it a couple of weeks ago. Quite good.

  • "...He has this insatiable thirst for blood, violence and vengeance..." and feet. It wasn't obvious a few years ago, but as time goes on Tarantino's foot obsession is getting out of hand. Deathproof? Festooned in feet. And he has a particular thing about Uma Thurman's feet; any excuse to get her piggies on camera.

  • i used to be a big fan of quentin tarantino,i havent seen this film yet but i feel that in the past several years quentin tarantino has disappeared up his own arse

  • So what? If he keeps making movies of this calibre I'll climb in there with him. He's fucking incredible.

And he's only 46! If he keeps going till he's 70-80 he could perhaps be the best director of all time.

  • The jew hunter in this movie is perhaps one of the best antagonists Ive ever encountered in any story.

  • That's a bingo!

Is that how you say it, that's a bingo?

  • yep

  • it's like a fairy tale about a terrible terrible reality

  • loved it myself. Just got it on Netflix and I kinda cant believe what a solid actor Brad Pitt has turned out to be for real.

  • ariva dirce !

  • Critics and movie-goers should not rate the film bad mainly because of what happened in the movie, but the fact of WHY the director chose it to happen, and how it was executed. It was about the contrast of immorality demonstrated by the capability of vengeance. Stop being so immature about this; if the Reichs and the fuhrer came to a jewish girl who's family has been massacred's theater, she would obviously take advantage and burn it to the ground; hell I would've been pissed too.

  • Did I just watch a Christmas tree review Inglorious Basterds?

  • This is the first time you've ever said anything I disagree with. My estimation of Q.T. took a nosedive with his production of Hostel. I remember the TV ad for it, that said something very much like BE WARNED: THIS MOVIE CONTAINS GRAPHIC SCENES OF INTENSE TORTURE. They obviously considered that was a selling point for the movie, that people WANT to go see people being tortured (and sadly, they're right)...sorry, Q.T., watching torture isn't something I'm even remotely into.

  • that said, I'm not poopooing I.B., which I haven't seen, yet....I'm just not a fan of Q.T. as I used to be...

  • there is a difference between classical american movies with violence in them , and a quentin tarantino movie ....

QT doesnt make movies that glorify violence , his movies always have a comedy factor to them but its not in any way glorifyng violence , if u didnt realise this u need to watch more QT movies..

  • The Jew Hunter shoud get the oscar for best supporting actor.

  • thanks for the recommendation. just watched this godforsaken movie and it was fucking class. the violence was beautiful and the dialogue was perfect. i was a bit sick of tarantino after death proof but this was good 'ol fashioned carnage. might watch it again just now. au revoir

  • Inglorious was AWESOME! I just loved those Bastards.. and the bad guy was pretty awesome too... I just knew he was gonna get it at the end.

  • I love you !!!!!!!!! and your vids!!!!!

  • I dïd like the plot , but the Jews jezz, after watching the movie I almost felt bad for all Natzis.. but then again of course not, anyway i would given the movie 3.5/5 ..

  • I did not like Kill Bill 2. Part 1 was ok.

    But I loved Pulp Fiction!!!!

  • I'm generally sceptical about Tarantino (both Kill Bill's sucked majorly) but I have to admit I loved Inglourious Basterds

  • Hells of Yea!

Big Tarantino fan, This is an insta-five stars.

  • Tarantino is one of my favorite directors too, right after Hal Hartley (although both have had some misses in recent memory).

I agree that Inglorious Basterds is his best work since Pulp Fiction.

    Thanks for the review.

  • Inglorious Basterds was a fucking AWESOME movie! That was probably the BEST Tarantino movie EVER!

  • i did not know u had this channel. i'll subscribe right now!

  • The guy who played the nazi was great. I remember him most from the movie.

  • IT SUCKED!!!!!!!!! Inglorious Suck My Dick! . . . absolutely one of HIS WORST!!!

Anyone reads this: DON'T EVEN BOTHER RENTING IT!

I agree with her most the time but, she's off on this review big time. SUCKED balls.

  • How in the Hell did the movie suck? It was great! The plot was so detailed! Man, I don't care if you don't like it, but I sense a lot of disrespect for one of the greatest directors alive! You really need to watch it again and appreciate how much effort was put into the project. Great film.

  • @al4prez13, It was just to chopped up for my taste, the accents sounded like they got pulled out of someone's ass and I'm not sure if Tarantino had it done on purpose but, the dubbing was off in spots . . . and the Plot was kinda nebulous. I like Mr. Quentin, I didn't like this movie. Sorry=/

  • fa un review la avatar n-are cum sa nu-ti placa

  • silly girl

  • Ok I watched the movie. It was good. I was a little disappointed concerning some of the people who got killed when I was hoping they would live. All in all it was a really good watch. Thanks Criss for the review, I probably would have never watched it if I had not seen your review. ^5

  • Thanks for the review. I had over looked this film but now am going to go watch it. I will let you know what I think after. Happy new year /hug

  • I really could not get over the part where Col. Hans Landa is mildly and sarcastically interrogating Perrier LaPadite in his log cabin. When the whole interior of the cabin graually turns into a painting (the door, clock, windows etc)...Wonderful stuff! Tarantino is king! If anyone missed that part, then I strongly urge you to re-watch it. Awesome! :)

  • inglorious basterds kicks ass!david lynch is an interesting director.but have you seen inland empire?what do you think about it?it kinda sucked for me.too long and waaay too"subtle"...

  • I have to agree. I love both directors too and i LOVE Lynch, but Inland Empire was exhausting.

He just went over the top with this one. I like Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway the most.

As far as Tarantino Movies goes. Inglorious Basters was one of his bests, but i also like pulp fiction, reserviour dogs and of course from dusk till dawn.

  • I didn't know you had a movie reviews channel! Subscribed!

  • i loved the movie and good review

  • Intariti-va in credinta, frati ortodocsi! S-a depasit masura, s-a trecut peste linia tolerantei.

  • Proof of evolution before our very eyes. Anyone who loves David Lynch is the product of evolution beyond the level of Homo sapiens.

  • Isn't it funny how all the clips on you tube of the "bear jew" scene where the baseball bat is used, conveniently edit out the part where the nazi tells pitt to go fuck himself.

Honor is honor no matter what ape exhibits it.

In real life all of the "basterds" would have been court marshaled and executed for war crimes after the war. This is why we have the geneva conventions. But glorifying war crimes sure is great entertainment right?

  • The best part was when the nazi commander was on his knees and given the choice of revealing the locations of his units or be bashed to death with a baseball bat - he politely declined. When threatened again, he said "FUCK YOU". Now that was golden. Any soldier that will roll over on his comrades deserves to be beat to death. A p.o.w. who remains loyal and is murdered for his patriotism deserves a medal.

...and the movie turns this war crime into a good laugh. poor.

    I'd give it 4 of 10

  • Isn't it amazing that he is nominated for an Emmy for best director? I think he deserves it, this movie was amazing. By the way...funny and random 'booyaka' at the end there...

  • I agree with you about Tarantino and Lynch (except for Dune, Scifi Channel's version was much better, then again, Dune isn't the same sort of story as Blue Velvet XD) Tim Burton an the other hand is a credit and idea stealing hack and I hope someone stops him from ruining any more classics.

Anywho, Inglourious Basterds was nothing short of amazing and I agree that it's Tarantino's finest directing work since Pulp Fiction, though I still feel that PF was far superior in every sense

  • I thought it was a good movie... Just not my style. Good acting, and good jokes, but it failed to entertain me =/ You might get a few laughs out loud, but most are actually inside jokes.

  • it wasnt bloody as normal with Quentin

  • When I finished watching Inglourious Basterds, four words came to mind: Picture of the Year.

    Excellent review! Subscribed. :)

  • I like this review. I will now have to see this movie. THanks Criss. By the way, great Idea having a separate channel for this kind of stuff. Perhaps we'll see more of you this way.

I am gay, so I am not drooling over this girl, but let's face it she is one of my top ten you tubers of all times; Smartest, Prettiest and Bitter-sweetest, great combination!

  • Great review, Criss.

I'm not Jewish, but "Inglourious Basterds" was still the most cathartic experience I've had in a theatre in years. When Shosanna calmly growls, "This is the face of Jewish vengeance." I just about lost my shit. I was pretty much cheering at the carnage at the end.

Did you see it in English?

  • Me too! I was almost with my hands in the air. :')

My boyfriend is now shocked by my nature...

  • great movie, but I really hated the scalping element, it added nothing but a awkward pause into the pacing, and the whole element of a crack team of jews all fired up about the holocaust came off feeling like historical revisionism.

also, whats with the heavy suicide attack theme? part of a good tragedy is sacrifice, not setting yourself on fire instead of making a timer. sure, his woman is dead, but planning it like that from the get go? it seemed alot of the basterds planned to die too, meh.

  • 2:50

    I prefer to masturbate

    is that ok with you?

  • I absolutely loved that movie x3 It was Tarantino at his finest, back to the Pulp Fiction days.

The dialogue was amazingly well written, and some the parts were just so satisfying in a primal, bloodthirsty kinda way XD

Classic Tarintino, lots of really well written dialogue sandwiching a few deliciously brutal action scenes.

In my opinion, Brad Pitt's accent was the most memorable character XD

  • his accent was so god awefull, so much that it was awesome.

  • you don't need to apologize;

good luck on the new chanel

  • there was some really fantastic scenes but thats about it

  • This review is far too rushed. If you mixed elements of this one with a later review after the second viewing it would work a lot better.

  • haha, good review

  • I agree 100%

  • Yes! I agree, best Tarantino movie since Pulp Fiction. I didn't like Death Proof, I thought that Planet Terror was a whole lot better so I was afraid that Tarantino was going downhill. But Inglorious Basterds was friggin awesome.

I also just read a review that trashed it the other day and said it was "brainless" or something. I was really pissed reading that review, since I know the reviewer fairly well and I think she's sortof an idiot and completely missed the entire point...

  • ... of the movie, which was to be as entertaining as possible. It's not supposed to be some historical movie portraying exactly what happened in WWII (obviously) and it isn't supposed to give some deep commentary on the Nazi psyche. It's supposed to be entertainment. This reviewer didn't get that at all. Whatever, sometimes reviews that I disagree with just piss me off so i had to rant, haha.

  • Awesome Review!

  • your have the same favourite directors as I do (:

except i also LOVE stanley kubrik

  • I loved Inglourious Basterds xD i love gory films :P

    Booyaka....Sha?

  • I saw it myself a few days back (being the cheap bastard I am I DL'd it)

I liked it, but it I didn't think it was superb.

tbh I expected the 'Basterds' to be in it a bit more than they were. Still an excellent movie though!!

The main nazi guy was brilliant, a great mixture of psychotic and occasionally hilarious behaviour. Brad Pitt was great too, and the guy playing Hitler was hysterical

The 'final scene' in the theatre was so mercilessly violent it had me rolling around laughing!!

  • Inglourious Basterds is one of my favorite movies of all time. A breath of fresh air after watching Transformers 2. My only complaint was the length, but it was well worth the watch.

  • Watched it 2 times, first time alone and i fricking loved it, and day after that watched it once more with a couple of friends, and enjoyed it even more.

One of the best move of the decade for sure IMO.

  • hpmf.......ai probleme frate....

  • Nightmeare!

  • Hai ca iti dau pm ca ma enerveaza sa tot scriu commenturi :P

  • Yea i love this movie also probably worth getting on blu ray instead of just downloading

  • Tarantino is a loon. I like this film and because it's such a departure from other films about WWII it's simply not possible to compare it to others. That's why it's a good film. It doesn't fit in a category. The opening scene is simply amazing. It's very chilling. When you get to the theatre scene, it's become this freaky revenge fantasy told in this odd tongue in cheek way. Did I mention that Tarantino is a loon?

  • I'm a big Tarantino fan too. My favourite is probably Reservoir Dogs.

I would say Basterds was fun film that has a surprise ending, not because of history or anything like that but because the plot did not follow traditional lines. There wasn't the usually unexpected obstacles that pop up near the end to challenge the characters' plans. And yes, it was very entertaining. However, the real value was in the dialogues.

Great first impression. Are you going to follow it up?

  • I love this movie too, that I do.

  • My first impression was that this movie was just ok... but im not super huge fan of QT although "dogs" is one of my favourite films of all time

That said the one thing that took this movie much higher in my usual estimations of his recent movies was Christoph Waltz as the colonel.... this for me was oscar material and im now looking for every movie he stars in ...... simply incredible acting!

    great review *****

  • Quentin Tarntino is the best! All his movies have exquisite and indiscriminate violence and the dialogues are awesome!

Good review Criss. Hope to see more of them.

  • I too am a huge Tarantino fan. While I didn't think this movie was bad, I think they could have sped it up in parts. But you are right about the visuals and set up, it definitely has that old movie feel. I still do like Pulp Fiction better though.

  • I saw Inglourious Basterds at the theaters and watching this film from the start I knew it was going to be a real movie going experience. Alos, without giving away any spoliers I will just say there is a cinema scene in the movie unlike any that I have ever been a witness to. Mind blowing. Oh, and I agree with you about the noir elements in the film. It appears Tarantino's long going interest in grindhouse movie projects carried some weight into this latest entry into balls out movie making.

  • Wow, this channel is really young! No comments yet? lol

Anyway, I agree for the most part, yet would never put Burton on the same level as Tarantino.
