  • The Arcadian dream's all fallen through, but the Albion sails on course...

  • the song good old day was written round the same time as never never and before petes addiction although it has played out into that story

  • Shopuld have never been played without Peter. Especially as this song has the references that it does.

  • @guyboxer I Agree, this song is basically Peter trying to hold the Arcadian dream together when Carl's lost the love for it all, it seems a little ironic that their singing a song of salvation written by the man they've just ditched. Thats not to say its all Carlos's fault.. but it does reek of double standards and just feels a little bit like there takin the piss and as good as Carl was... the LIbertines without Pete...in my opinion were like a can of Fanta without the bubbles. Flat

  • @Marley999888 ''Double standard''? How abt Carl also trying desperately to hold on to the good old days? I can't believe anyone who's seen him play Can't Stand Me Now for Rolling Stone or Death on the Stairs on Fuji could say he was anything but crushed without Pete. Give the man some credit. He loved Pete, it's almost cruel to acuse him of ''taking the piss'' by playing a song THEY wrote together.

  • breathtaking version.

  • John and Gary never got enough credit for all they added as the backbone to the MAGIC of the Libertines. The not so silent - silent heroes! Carl and Peters captivating presence was a pretty tough act to stand beside and behind. Love this video! I keep coming back to hear it again....

  • Up the Hassal! Brill bassist, brill guitarist as well.
