  • ...we do .. strokes covers

  • brilliant drum change :)

  • I just want to know where I am here... Am I the only person who likes both Grandaddy and The Strokes?

  • Comment removed

  • @eedtheatombomb Nope, me too.

  • Rock on guys. Jed would be proud.

  • Worst. Crowd. Ever.

  • j-just doin nothin

  • I LOVE IT! <3 "COME ON! WAKE THE F*CK UP! Nah, go back to bed." LOL

  • Rube Goldberg sent me here from ebaums.

  • way before there time

  • He's probably doing the devil's horns as a mockery, just like how he says "We do Strokes covers." It was just to get a rise out of them lol.

  • did they really split up?

  • Super lol at the

"COME ON! WAKE THE FUCK UP!

Nah, go back to bed." line

because I've always used AM 180 as my morning alarm and that's exactly how I feel.

  • @HamSandwich09 That's weird; I've used the opening melody of this song as my alarm sound for a long time, too.

  • Thumbs up if you didnt know this song before 28 days later.

  • @gainpro It's also the Texas Longhorn's little dealio :D

So maybe Jason is a Longhorn fan? Or...

    HE WORSHIPS THE DEVIL.

  • That's rad. I skate with Jason Lytle all the time.

  • They play Strokes covers...lolz!!!

  • Sorry but Jason Lytle is kinda tool....the whole "rock on" hand gesture he did....Love the music. Way ahead of their time.

  • @cbebop2411 thats a devil's horns metal gesture not a "rock on" gesture.... freakin tool...

  • @gainpro Well I can say I'm pretty satisfied with the fact that I wasn't aware of the "proper name" of such gesture. Grandaddy makes great music, but that doesn't make them cool individuals. I don't know why you're calling me a tool. I was just commenting about the video. But I'm assuming you are used to being "short" of most people's expectations with a username like that.

  • @cbebop2411 >using numbers in username do to the inability to be creative + talks down on other users for a "short?"(bad? (confused about the meaning?)) username + questions why he is being called a tool + being proud of not knowing a history of a genre just because he doesn't like it = tool

lemme guess, if i told you about the Holocaust in WWII, your just gonna say it didn't happen, and then be proud that you weren't aware of it, because it would make your nazi friends look bad, right?

  • @gainpro the history of metal is far less important than the holocaust, and trying to compare them is far from reasonable. but maybe that was you trying to prove how creative you are and how, since i use numbers in my name, uncreative i am. i don't care about the history metal, i was merely commenting upon the use of the "devil horns". if you can't handle others opinions without blowing a load, please get help

  • @cbebop2411 well shoot.. that sure is a strange way of saying happy new year to someone..

  • @gainpro we're all going to die anyways, might as well squash our differences

  • @cbebop2411 um.. i'm sorry? (don't do it man!)

well what ever you decide to squash, just don't go squashing your head, cause that.. you can't go back and change.

  • That crowd sucked grandaddy balls, that's what they did. If Grandaddy's on stage, you GET THE FUCK UP!!

  • reminds me of Germany. Maybe I miss it.

  • Haha what the hell i cant get away from the Strokes their my favorite band though! Anyway these guys are great

  • HAHA the drummer playing while smoking a cigarette.. fucking EPIC

  • hahaha we play strokes covers

  • I would have gone fucking mental...bunch of cunts.

  • why do all the good bands break up...I have seen all my fav bands at shows but missed this one...wtf.

  • excellent tune! we play strokes covers haha!!

  • gotta love the drummer

  • @frykitty37

Wow, your respect must be very easily gained to be shaken over something so petty.

  • @frykitty37 obviously not, he's just making a reference to all of the bands that do.

  • HOLY SH*T is that Ryan Stiles from Whose Line Is It Anyway @ 3:52 ?

  • I LOVE YOU GRANDADDY. time reveals true merit

  • I love this song

  • Grandaddy, you were a victim of the system... your music was incredible...

  • Oh god that solo was awful! I love this song but live im not so sure

  • @quicksaund He's not trying to be Jimmy Hendrix. It just wouldn't sound right if he started playing some kind of crazy solo. He did what fit with the song. So, I guess, fwoosh!.

  • Grandaddy: Get.Back.Together.

  • 12 people were eaten by zombies.

  • I love that the drummer is smoking on stage.

  • 2:49-2:54 chick is having a total hippie moment. heh heh

  • i would rock out with my cock out at this damn concert!!!!

  • I like the way he says fuck.

  • We play...

    ...Strokes covers.

    (awkward silence)

  • hmmm.... remind me on 28 days later

    gr8 song

  • I saw Jason sing it with Midlake in Dublin last night. Superb concert. I could never get the Strokes thing, now I know why.

  • Saw Jason perform this two days ago with Midlake - (hence why I searched for it).... Brilliant quality vid too....

  • also check out a real grandad..hit on gypwin...cheers

  • For some reason I keep thinking they should have used a Grandaddy song for one of the recent Fallout games.... Like even just a riff or piano track, would have fit in so well somewhere.

  • I just bougth a Cd from Grandaddy that was recorded back in 1996 and this song is in it. Im starting to get the feel of it... He has come a long way

  • @Ryan124816 haha, yes.

  • thanks a ton for uploading this, so simple but so childish...amazin'

  • We play the strokes covers. Epic.

  • Props to the drummer for being able to drum with a cigarette in his mouth.

  • i'm a grandaddy..check out my new videos..cheers

  • This crowd really blows.

They should have played Strokes covers, :b

  • @RedGhost0

    Shut the fuck up

  • @PeterJamesBond1 I'm American myself -_-, you gotta make fun of yourself. Jeez...

  • @RedGhost0

girls, girls... you're BOTH pretty. now can you stop complaining?

  • "We play Strokes' covers" Wahou, what a frightening way to begin a concert !

  • 10 people have no taste in music

love this song, but why are the crowd so dead?!?!

  • @TommyGreenfly Cause they're American.

  • @TommyGreenfly Besides, it means less screaming and more listening. I hate it when I hear them more than the band.

  • I think this guy is my new hero.

  • <<<<<<<<< check out my remix of this! presents a certain feelling towards the colon when the ear holes come into contact with!!

  • @themuffintree101 BIG UP ;)

  • i love is song

  • COME ON, WAKE THE FUCK UP

  • i sure would go nuts

  • I think everyone is just swimming in a huge marijuana cloud at this show.

  • The singer's comment to the crowd is EMBARRASSING! I dislike lame audiences, but lame jokes are even worse. He shouldn't have blamed the crowd for not laughing. Great song, though.

  • great!!!!!

  • best song ever!!!

  • This song was on my skate video it was on VHS

  • lets go have a zombie apocolypse

  • lets go shopping in dead supermarket ^^

  • this song definantly aint made to be played live

  • @whokilledflea ? WTF? Lay off the shrooms bro

  • I agree Lemonhead. Seen them live in Glasgow... f*ckin great band

  • I found it great to live aaaaaaaaaaaaaa coolest song and more as part of their guitars which will be the group? not his song but these great

  • grandaddy >> zombies

  • Cool tune, the singer always reminds me of the singer of dEUS, anyone else?

  • @zombiehammer1

i think the singer reminds me more of yo muttah when shes taking dick....i know this because yes, i fudg'd yo muttah

  • @whokilledflea

    twat!

  • man i love the part in 28 days later when the group was shopping in the abandon grocery store. lol that the part where the girl's dad took all the wine and leave a credit card when they leave the store lol XD

  • @redchaosdragon1

    That part is awesome!

  • @redchaosdragon1

    it was scotch not wine

  • My cat's stuffed, too.

  • I first saw these guys on Later . . . with Jools Holland when I DVR'd an episode ('cause I have no life). Right after that I searched YouTube for a video. Needless to say, they're pretty good for an indie-band. And this is a pretty solid performance.

  • LMAO! same i found them on a DVR`d Later... ^^

  • Well, they were on there twice. Which one did you record? The one where they performed Now It's On? That one was my first. (As if we're discussing . . . crocheting competitions or "first times" (like there's a difference).)

  • hehe ^^ im sure "Now its on" was the first time i heard them. at first i was like "WTF why are they dressed as rednecks?" then i didnt care cuz it was awesome...... kind of an understatement haha.

  • holy crap combine harvester pop!

  • COME ON! WAKE THE FUCK UP!

    NAH, GO BACK TO BED.

Am I the only one who would be going nuts at this show?

  • nah id be too. the crowd seems kinda weak.

  • @Lemonhead86 happy 8-bit sound,COME ON WAKE THE FUCK UP lol

  • @Lemonhead86 nah i would to dawg fo sho grandaddy

  • @Lemonhead86 probably, seemed boring

  • @Lemonhead86 HALE YEAH *in Dr.Dre Voice*.

  • @everydayidiealilmore Age of irony

  • I LOVE what he says in the beginning

  • Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe theme song!

  • Can anyone give this band the recognition they deserve,He said that cause so many people think thats what this song is, a Strokes cover, its pitiful. This band was before them and before the 28 days later movie too.

  • That was a joke.

  • @Somethingpower yeah its that video game synth sound Strokes really popularized it so what do you expect

  • The keyboard rhythm in this reminds me of Saturday Night by The Misfits, since the first time I heard it on 28 days later D:

  • umDUH zombies dont exist! so shut the fuck up!

  • really??? i thought they did?? man your a smart one.

  • im trying to stop the zombie argument happening below lol it got annoying :)

  • favorite song ever kind of lol

  • Yea, it broke the ice in the movie ,28 days

  • this song is awesome

  • I love this song, i love 28 days later and love this scene! ( Super market )

  • his voice reminds me a bit of the singer to the pixies on where is my mind

  • 28 days later shopping scene! easy!!!

  • haha iv just noticed the plastic cat now

  • Great Music...

  • suits and ties make money....killing music

  • can anyone tab that solo? 2:59-3:10

  • @ infectedzomb

zombies are the living dead and don't die of starvation. The infected people in the movie aren't dead and they starve to death.

  • duh, fuckin zombies DO starve to death if they don't get any flesh and/or brains! and stupidstupidyoume, it is a zombie film... it was just tastefully done.

  • zombie = re-animated dead

no one in 28 days ever became re-animated... they just stayed dead once dead became their facebook status.

  • LMAO too funny! Why do people always say this is a zombie movie? Teh people in the movie are infected with "Rage" a vuirus that causes primal aggression kinda like in Stephen King's "The Cell" They are not zombies because zombies are the dead arisen. these are just normal people reduced to their primal rage.

  • I know, these people don't have a clue about the movie if they think they are zombies. A zombie is a re-animated corpse that was brought back from the dead. In the movie... They are indeed infected.

  • @DrummerLordProdigy

You can really say that a zombie is both a human being who has died and become re-animated, or a human being who has lost all rational thinking and has no capacity for self-preservation, and are driven by first-instinct reactions, not to mention the simplest instinct; the instinct to kill.

28 Days Later really re-invented the zombie-horror genre.

  • guys stop argueing about zombies...this is grandaddy, and grandaddy is WAYYYYYYY better than zombies lol.

    grandaddy will be remembered forever...<3

  • hey can sum1 tab the solo?

  • So a zombie isn't infectious is that right?

  • to become a zombie is to get INFECTED, so either way its a zombie movie

  • This song is now used for the opening titles of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe on the BBC.

It is consistently the funniest sharpest and rudest show on British TV.

Search Youtube for "Ten Biggest Cocks In Advertising".

  • they kinda remind me of dinosaur jr.

  • I'm sure Mr Lytle would not hate that comparison.

  • i wholeheartedly agree... both good bands too

  • it's amazing how they fit a song like that into a zombie film :L

  • But it wasnt a zombie part, it was a food part =P

  • i suppose, hah.

  • But it wasn't a zombie part, it was food =P

  • :P haha I know!.. Great song.. but it was an infection film, not zombie;)

  • dini get too smart now! :L ^.^

  • But still guys he rocks our socks off! :D

  • wake the fuck up...for real though that crowd is boring as hell. they're at a Grandaddy concert! they should be happy!=]

dont reply to this giving me some b.s crap agueing with me..this is my opinion

  • This is the umpteenth time I've listened to this recording and I feel like I'm still 'finding' stuff, like the clear emphasis on "here", as in -they- really did not want to be -there-.

But I can understand the angst at the beginning of this song. Imagine you are in a mellowish band adn you're about to play one of your most rockingest songs and the crowd is already asleep and thus going to miss it. It is a helpless, disconnected feeling.

  • I couldn't agree more, it feels good to know that the audience is soaking up whatever message you are trying to convey. These people look 30'ish and drunk. Maybe this is some sort of boring promo concert? Personally I think this set is too big for this band, indie bands feel better in a smaller, more personal setting. Just my opinion though.

  • wake the fuck up

  • They all look fucking sober. What kind of a concert is that? Band's good though

  • u guyz dnt rock u guyz kick ASS!!!

  • I love you guys!

  • weezer ripoff? are you fucking brain dead?

  • Comment removed

  • lol, yeah thats exactly how bands work. everyones a fucking robot. money in. money out.

man thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard dude - try performing on stage sometime.

  • 'yeah eveyone's a robot' jesus how teenage angst do you sound - grow up!. You are blinded by your own passion for the band - I get that - I HAVE THAT - my point was merely that if they are being paid to perform then thats what they should do, they have no right to insult the audience just because (as shootbinary puts it) their best song is coming and the audience will miss it. Its pretty much tough tits. I have performed on stage and if you have Im sure you didnt get a rave review everytime.

  • you guy's forget this band hasnt been around for what, coming up on a decade?

  • @indyballer 4 years

  • i'm quite certain "wake the fuck up" was merely an ironic rock star remark - calm down :)

  • dei 28 days laters me vuelve loco este tema!! excelente!! me gustaria conseguir temas como este!!!..;9

  • Have you guys been to a real concert? The crowd is fine, this isnt some heavy metal hardcore screamo shit. Its a slow song, they are sitting back and listening to it. Fuck

  • Crowd's so fine that Jason had to tell the crowd to wake the fuck up, right? Bands only say that to crowds that are fine, right?

  • He made a joke that they didnt get. I think he meant wake up in that way.

He's just fooling around anyways. Stop taking everything so seriously.

And also LOL @ weezer ripoff, that comment is so retarded its not even funny.

  • 0:06 - 0:33 awkward

    still an awesome performance

  • if aliens could only judge the human race based on youtube comments we would all be doomed

  • Amen.

  • Agreed.

  • This is actually one of the greatest comments I have ever seen

  • what a beautiful mind
