@bdrake196 we would need to turn all our atoms into photons and back to atoms again when we arrive to do that and the eaziest way to actually go faster than light in a ship is to have a shield around a ship that contains a pocket of space that dose not move due to the shield keeping it within in the shield then we would need a engine that can boost us to that speed i think it will be eazy to do once we invent the technology for shields and insane engines and able to control pockets of space lol

@bdrake196 well with your theory there could be a way in the future to attach photons to all atomic structures to travel with light but that wont make us go faster than light and speed of light in space is still too slow lol but it would be MUCH easier to do the whole contain a pocket of space within a shield way to travel through time but not space the reason i say your idea would work is because i believe NOTHING is impossible we just have to find a means to do it

I have a feeling the trick to make this work is to remove as much zeropoint energy as possible in that cavity. If that could be done it will work because frame dragging is real and physics doesn't lie.

it seems like if someone had a stack of magnets with channels a few angstroms wide milled into it surrounded by another set of magnetic disks with gaps a few nanometers wide and injected heavy ions into the channels they would exceed the normal speed of light in that "casmir" cavity. It seems like they would cause frame dragging compressing spacetime one one end and stretching spacetime on the other end.

The only way we will achieve this, is if we have some incentive to do so. It is impossible because we don't want it right now. When we decided to go faster than sound, orbit the earth, go to the moon, we had militaristic or a financial incentives. Until we get this desire back, by one reason or another, within a few hundred years we could be traveling intergalactic. 500 years ago, they would have never dreamed of what we could do today.

@pisces196949 : our "incentive" for FTL is the fact that our resources will eventually run out...and governments find it much easier to bleed a planet/asteroid dry rather than create energy from a steady object (like the sun). This doesn't mean we are pushing the research too much...but..we all have hobbies.

Finally, We are seriously looking into alternative energies now. In a few more years fusion reactors will be powering small villages and towns. We are finally starting to head in the right direction. Like I stated previously it will take time, and we won't creating an Alcubierre drive tomorrow.

I think that finding for example what caused space to expand much faster than the speed of light 1/10(36 zero) after the Big Bang should give us clue. Because apparently that didn't violate the theory of relativity. So maybe we're wasting our time always trying to adjust us to Einstein's theory, when the answer is before our eyes.

Beg to differ. I believe faster than light travel is possible, even now. I think there ARE a number of factors which when discovered and dealt with, either individually or collectively, would enable the speeds exceeding light to be possible. The existence of UFO's I believe has now been fairly accepted and the amazing speeds at which these objects travel, I believe are attainable.

General relativity doesn't deny the exsistance of particles that travel faster than light. Look up for tachyons.

using alcubeture drive, you are inside of a bubble. All the information inside the bubble (such as the spaceship) is sitting still. The spacetime around the ship however is accelerated, giving the effect of FTL travel.
