I was a dj in s florida with a very hip station called zeta 4 during the mid 70's..and I always really dug this awesome song..It was way ahead of its time stu grant jazz radio..jazzyguy1948@aol.com great memories ..
Heard this song only once before while driving alone at 1 in the morning in the 70's...its otherwordly, haunting refrain and the hint of smooth jazz take me back to that moment. Thank you for posting!
Yes, I interviewed after he became a Christian for a magazine called Cornerstone, rather a strange life, was offered the guitar job with Chicago after Terry Kath shot himself, but he turned it down, this album was the best he did. I saw him play in a chgurch with acoustic was interesting but was lacking, still great vocals and guitar, and a very gentle man when I met him but hard to get close too, at the same time, still I treasured the moments we shared in person just listening to him talk !
did some background on James Vincent and turns out that this album is no longer available....turns out that he has either died, and the family no longer wants copys released...or he has gone into seclusion.
He has not died, he is perfectly healthy, and he just left a message on my voice mail on Monday. He is still playing music, though not publicly. He currently lives in Oregon, near the town of Sutherlin (Roseburg area) with his wife. Contact me if you want more details.
@MrGringo78 I communicate with James all the time. If you give me a first name, and some kind of reference that he would recognize, I'll ask him if it's OK to give you his e-mail addy.
It's just Tom from Germany and JVs music has accompanied and blessed me for many years. Besides ordering all of his albums I've read his book Space Traveller und would like to share a few thoughts and thanks with him, if he agrees. You or he can reach me personally at teatpowerbrand.de.
I absolutely agree with rkjazzfan. Totally underrated great musician. I like his voice which reminds me a bit of Lou Rawls. Does anybody know where he is or what he's doing at the moment?
I met James Vincent Donlinger too. I took drum set lessons from his brother Tom Donlinger back in the late seventies. I corresponded with James by mail once but have lost touch since I moved from Ca.
James was and is incredibly talented. His brother too. Tom was playing with Van Morrison for years.
This guy has weird recording history. Wooo!!! from chicago, aorta, fricken coven to Christian to god knows what> However, he is a very talented musician.
I have a copy of this on vinyl. It has a silver stamp in the corner that says "demonstration, not for sale," does this make it worth more?

@wspcougar1 Google James Vincent - Guitarist Extraordinaire. There you'll find all his albums for sale as well as some neat info.
