Dear Sina,

All Persian speaking people take pride in Rumi's beautiful poetry. Let's not be arrogant about a particular Persian accent. I was born in Iran, but I know very well that one of the first promoters of Persian poetry in history were "Samanian" rulers of today's Tajikistan. The gentleman who is reciting this poetry has a great voice and I think it is refreshing that his way of speaking is a little bit different from mine.

why is it that everyone claims rumi as their own. rumi belongs to the world. rumi escaped the invasion of moguls and died in today's Turkey was not a Turk by origin . oh well he spoke Farsi which was the language of all Persian territory. this was before you needed a passport to travel from Iran to kabul.

This is what Mawlana Rumi says about Olagh turks, Turk Khandedan greft az dastan, Chashmi tangash gasht basta han zaman. translation; Turk started laughing about the story, his tiny eyes eyes closed themselves from the world at that moment.-- So Mawlana Rumi acknowledges the tiny eyes or oriental features of Turks in his poems while Rumi as a Tajik Balkh didnt have that kinda of feature himself.
