Using a different size min/max causes the computer to constantly adjust to the size it needs at any given moment. This will cause a slowdown in performance which you are trying to avoid. If you use the same size in both min/max you will eliminate that and your paging file will be fixed at the number you set. That will help performance especially if you have under 1G RAM. Also, try a pagedefrag utility since Windows will not defragment your paging file because it is in use when you run defrag.

Virtual Memory uses your hard drive to assist your RAM when it is getting full(BASICLY). First check to see how much RAM you have. Then multiply that by 3(if you have under 1G ram); use that number in both your min/max boxes. If you have 1G then double. More? then same as RAM. Use same numbers in both boxes... Here's why..

Um... this won't make you're pc super fast, it'll make it when you're computer is out of RAM (Random Access Memory) It'll use a part of your hardisk (The space on your computer for storage) as ram, so... it really only works if you don't have a lot of ram, and I'm not so sure about how fast the hardisk speed of ram is, I'm sure it's not as fast as just having DDR2 or DDR3 ram though.

For people who don't know what he is suggesting (he doesn't explain it at all). He is changing the Virtual memory, this is the amount of Virtual RAM (Processing memory) that the computer has. As indicated in the name, virtual ram is only an imitation of actual ram, using hard disk space and is much slower. There is no real reason to set it to 650 or 1200. In fact if yours is larger then this might decrease your speed. I say might because it really depends on the processing speed, the RAM...

Most updated computers naturally increase paging memory if RAM is low and more is needed (you will be notified if this happens). Anyway, if your paging memory needs increasing, just buy some more RAM. Though, you should read a separate guide on this. The second thing he is doing as far as I can tell is useless, doing so will only slow boot-up.

if you have 1+ Gb of ram it is PERFECTLY SAFE to do this on a pc as long as the total amout of apps that you are runnin do not excede the amout of PHYSICAL ram that you have, read above.

so if you load a game that requires 2gb of ram on a system with 1Gb of ram and no page file then you will BSOD running the same game with 3Gb of ram and you are fine.
