  • My blood typically feels like maple syrup, is less viscous, and darker in color due to increased sugar concentration. Oh and I feel like absolute shit and am feel like the ketoacidosis is burning me up in raging hellfire.

  • Does anyone with D get dizzy when your sugar is high? I also get the headache and feel a little out of breath also sometimes it makes me want to go to the bathroom more often the last one is not all the time but the other symptoms I always have with a high sugar reading.

Low Sugar: weakness to muscles.Sick stomach.light headedness. Now high.Main problem & always on.ALWAYS, well but much worse.24/7 PAIN.Base level is 6. Higher sugar is pain stronger everywhere. To what parts of my body affected.92% of my skin-nerves-circulatory systems. Is numbed sensitive. My skin is dieing. To a lifeless doll.

  • How did you guys find out you had diabetes? What were some signals?

  • Love your video and explaination !!

  • nice job on this video bub very nice and true i lost some vision when i went to the hospital its was over 700 and my cholesteral was 2400 dr said i hit a personal high for her never seen someone so high and not know they had issues

  • When I watched this, I was shocked to the core! when I heard you say BS levels of 160 - 250. I couldn't understand!!! Im no Dr but from my knowledge that shouldn't even be humanly possible. But then I looked up the details and found out that

Americans use a completely different unit/volume to Brits. So numbers of 16-250 for US is like 4.5 - 14 (US use mg/dL and UK mmol/l)

  • Your video's make me feel normal. It's really hard when you feel like no-body else understands.

  • I feel really Aggressive when i have a High Blood Sugar, and my Head Hurts real Bad,and can't hear, there's some beeping noise in my Ears,is this Normal?

  • Hahahaha the gnome!! :D) Make one for me about CGM!!! Pleeeeeeeeeeease?

  • @SmilingDiabetic that's sooo weird I got diagnosed 3 days after my 14th bday too and yea I feel pretty much tha same

  • @sheffieldmvp i would suggest getting a blood test and asking the doctor or a hospital what you can do because idk about type 2 but I know type 1 is fatal. I almost died from it, and the thirst will probably (if it hasn't already) get so bad there won't be anything to quench it

  • The intro is exactly what i'm like, when my blood sugar is high: HYPER! :D

  • i know i have diabetes, i have the blurred vision and thurst and sweating and tired feeling. I dont have insurance so I cant get medicine. The other day I almost passed out. Hopefully it won't be fatal.

  • Chronic High blood sugar has many complications.

High Blood sugar may result in poor wound healing. So if you notice a small wound which then becomes a huge wound and takes forever to heal, consult your MD. Another problem associated with poor wound healing is ulcer on the feet due to peripheral vascular disease (PVD).

The heart can also be affected as the surfaces of the blood vessels instead of smooth become very rough.

All these complications may be avoided if diabetes properly monitored :D

  • Hey man i don't think your cats likes you! haha I'm glad you mentioned High BG making you muscles tight, as that is a vital thing to know & usually point to the start of ketoacidosis in your blood stream! Vital in as much as your heart is also a muscle & if your feeling weak or cramped up in your legs/arm due to high BG, so is your heart & that makes it potentially a life threatening situation, especially if you also have a heart condition! So keep that insulin close by! lol

  • hey ive had diabetesf for about 5 and a half years now. ive been having a problem of were iffel low all the time. can high blood sugars feel like low blood suagrs?

  • When my bloods are high, I feeel real sick like I am going to throw up, but thats when they have been at their highest.

  • I get bad headaches when my sugar is low. I'm also tired, moody and get confused very easily.

  • love this video, im a nursing student and was having a hard time deferentiating between type 1 and 2, aslo signs and symptoms #coolvideo

  • @scb0421 I fell the same way, acidic like blood and cramps...

  • i love having low blood sugars but not for 2 long cause i start twitching

  • everytime my blood sugar hits fifteen, i get shaky, like i do on a low blood sugar. we use different units of measurement. mine is in mmol/L, but i'm not familiar with yours yet. i actually have LADA, or slow progressing type one. i found out exactly one year ago that i was diabetic. they didn't give me insulin until november long weekend, still getting used to it.

  • geart videos

  • i hate the high blood sugar headache!

  • My blood sugar normally is about 280-360. Bad, I know. A lot of these (okay - everything except the sweating) apply to me! The worst one is the mood swings and headaches!

  • cool videos dude i'm a type 1 diabetic too

  • I dont really notice it until it gets over 250 at that point I get irritable and my body kinda aches. At 400-600 I get really irritable and it feels like my blood has turned to acid. I have never sweated with a high blood sugar but I do sweat like a rutting hog when it's low. I have had blood sugars over 600 and actually when I was first diagnosed it was 1100, I felt like total crap and the docs were surprised I was even conscious. P.S. the pissing gnome was awesome.

  • i`m 45 and i was diagnosed with type 2 over a yr ago,but my morning bld sugar normaly stay`s at 100-120 after just coffee.but they highest that i have ever been was after junk food of 255,and it scared the crap out of me,bacause normaly after lunch i`m a good 160-180tops...

  • hi. i'm 14 and i was diagnosed almost 5 years ago. i'm acyually having high blood sugars now lol . last time i checked, i was in the 400's. My head and stomach hurt badly and i get all tired when this happens.. :P i was just put on the insulin pump, but it's not helping.....

  • i m 21yrs old boy.when my sugar goes high i also get headache, some times black skin appears below my eyes,.my legs start paining..my energy goes down..i feel thirst..n often go for urination....

  • the only thing i notice, is a strange feeling in my eyes and i cant keep them open for so long, and very very increased aggression, i just want to smash everything nearby me

  • hi i,m a boy on 11 years old i got diabetes a 6 weeks ago can you make a video off you check blood sugar from kent in norway

  • @norwayheroo Kent so Happy you like the videos! So you want me to do a video on how I test my Blood Sugar using my meter? Let me know, I can do that for you, I might add a silly twist!

  • YOu kick ass. My mom's a very bad diabetic. I'm hypoglycemic but I think i'm turning diabetic. I have all those symptoms and the ones from your low sugar video. Was wondering did you ever get pinns and needles? and close hands, where you can't open your hands? also ever drop to the floor? I used to drop to the floor all the time when i was younger. Also had bad migraine headaches too. I used to take a medicine well over 300 bucks. Also had 3 eeg's 24 hr eeg catscans and bloodtests etc

  • I am a newbie, and like everything else in my life, I did this one in a BIG way. Straight to the insulin for me, past go, past jail, straight past pills and diet.

I'm at anger and frustration right now. I keep poking and bleeding, but I am still wildly fluctuating from low to high. Last week, fell down and almost lost consciousness in a hotel lobby. How the hell do I cope with this. I'm a funny funny guy, but this doesn;t seem so funny.

  • WOW!!!

It's like looking in the mirror. You remind me so much of myself. You mentioned "Mood". I have no patience when i'm high and it does impact on my family life. My wife and kids suffer which i feel soooo bad about.

Your decriptions on Hypo's and Hyper's are very accurate.

Great videos Buddy. Looking foward to visiting your web site.

    all the best to you.

  • mine change alot and it bugs me!

  • Hey there! Im a diabethic from Sweden type 1. I tend to get dry in my mouth if I am superhigh, if I am moderatley high I just get like a tingling sensation down my arms. Thanks for the post!// Erik

  • fabulous

  • I am a type 1 diabetic and when im high i urinate and drink more, i dont get moody or the sweats but i do get this horrible dry mouth.

  • ok this scares me a bit cause i'm not diabetic as far as i know and i have had most of these symtoms

  • I really liked your video and it's so nice of you to give other diabetics all the information. You are a blessing to many. I have found that what works for me, is FISH OIL and VITAMIN E. I don't go to doctors (yeah, I know) but I believe in going the natural way, I'm not telling any body to do like me, but it works and I come from a long line of diabetics. And pardon me for saying this but the man upstairs (know who I mean?) He's there to help you too. So, thanks for sharing.

  • i dont feel anything when im 200 so i wont even know that im high. by the time im 250 or something it's too late and i'll have the worst thirst ever. not only that but when im above 250 i get chronic headaches :( theyre horrible and since i dont no anyone else with diabetes, no one understands how it feels :( ur videos make me feel better though! maybe if i pay more attention to those symptoms u pointed out i can control it better! thanks!

  • i agree its good to know there are your regular joe diabetics who really understand how you feel rather than sat in front of a doctor telling you how he thinks you are feeling.

  • I get chills, headache, sleepy, thirsty when I go high.

I get sweaty, confused, hyper, weak when I go low.

  • You are terrific!

  • 2 years with type 1 and still feeling good :)

    Awesome video! Youre friggin amazing!

  • Thank you!

  • Nice video!:) i love all of ur videos!:)

  • Thank you so much!

  • I get bad headaches when my sugars high.

  • I do too!

  • @thirdlife911 so do i

  • Very creative...I love it!

  • You are right on TARGET. I believe you have truly found your calling. I am nurse, nursing instructor, and a diabetic. I really enjoy your videos and think you should consider a job in healthcare. Your videos are helpful and they hold people's attention. You are hilarious dude! Keep the videos coming!

  • oh thank you so much! I try to be informative with a little jazz :-)

Now only if I could go back to school and do it over

  • I love the way your videos describe the symptoms. I showed my boyfriend and he laughed cause they are all true.

6 years with type 1 and still kicking.

  • Thanks so much, I'm glad you watched the videos and and showed them to your boyfriend. :-)

  • Haha you're hilarious. I always describe high bloods as cloudy. I'm Sadie and I have type one, I'm 21 and have had it for 5 years. I love your energy!

  • Thank you so much. Cloudy is great way to describe it. Sometimes it follows with a frontal headache for me.

  • I wanted to really thank you, when my surgers are high i cant stop crying any my jaw gets really tight (it TMJ)

    Also

Thank you for taking a fun and interesting look at dibeties, i feel gross and bad for being diabetic and i really appreshiate ur up beat attitude, and friendly demenor.

how do u lower ur high blood when its around 250?

  • Thanks for posting your comment, I hope you subcribed and checked out the new site, you can get some feedback there too about how you are feeling. Don't be afraid to.

Well (this is what I do, I'm not a doctor) when my BG is over 200 I become more insulin resistant so I end up needing more insulin then my normal "correction ratio" so I end up doing about 10% more insulin at that level to help me get where I need to be. Everyone is different though. Hope it helps

  • good video! that's how i always feel. lol is your cat always that moody? :)

  • Always that moody... lol. I am doing a pets video soon, already in the makes... YOU'LL see him again in action!

  • I'm on the fence. I can wake up at 11am and watch movies for like 5 hours and not drink or eat and not really have the symptoms you describe.

Yet when I eat too much I do notice frequent urination and light, light sweat.

I guess I just need a glucose meter at home.

Whats the range on an empty stomach and after a meal? How long after a meal should I test the sugar?

    Thanks!

  • Not an doctor here. So this is just what I do. But I have been told to check my BG 2hrs after a meal to make sure my BG is not too high. Just so I know I did enough insulin to cover my meal. But insulin stays in your system for 4hrs. Empty stomach a good range is 80-120, 2hrs after a meal below 180 or 160 would be amazing. Everyone is different, depends on what your Dr, educator, like for you.

  • i dont hasve diabetes!

  • OK when I had high blood sugars I didn't feel like the way this guy feels. Half the time you couldn't get me out of bed because I was sleeping all the time. I drank so much water I felt like I was going to burst. Years of letting the sugar go up have damaged my eyes to where I have to wear glasses and that I went into DKA. It is not worth it to let your sugars get high.

  • Great video! I'm going to share it with my diabetic son - I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it. (Especially the peeing gnome.)

  • Yippe!!! The peeing gnome :-) That's my favorite part too. lol He drank alot.

  • I get a really bitter taste in my mouth - almost sick in my stomach. I get moody (dont disagree with me lol). Bathroom. I wear glasses but when my sugar is high vision gets worse than normal (blurry).

  • I get the taste in my mouth too. Moody too, everything you said!

  • at 7:15 thats a nice fish tank, you mind messaging me on it? What fishes do you have? and as for your video.....it's very entertainging :) i enjoyed every minute of it, keep doing what you do! it's great!! and it's really educational, i didnt no having a high blood sugar causes increased urination, sweating, moodiness, etc. you should do one on Low blood sugar!! thanks!! =D

  • Thanks this helped me go to the docter to test for diabetes. and yes i found out that i have it too. :(

  • how is your vision doing man? it hasnt affected your eyes yet? iM 28 and i have alof of the symptoms except the sweating, doctors say i dont but last time my sugar was at 100 and i fasted the day before, my eyes are seriously blury and alot of floaters have started to show up in a short amount of time, let me kno what you think yeah. thanks -JIM-

  • I haven't had big issues yet with my eyes. I try to get them checked regularly, and I do wear glasses for somethings. I've been lucky. I don't really get the Blurred vision with my High Blood Sugars like some do.

  • Lol nice with the cat. "Wow you're so moody, you should check your blood sugar". Sorry but I kinda laughed.

  • It was funny.... lol

  • sweet vid man! I'm an eighteen yr old diabetic and ive had it for ten years, and over that time, my blood sugar has given me some real hell.

Whenever it goes high, i lose my sense of smell completely. Next, my legs and arms tighten up. I think its cuz im into lifting weights and stuff. Any more though, i either have really high highs or really low lows and it never seems to stop. in the last month i hit a new low of eleven and only God knows how high its gotten. Thank for the connections.

  • Very very very well explained. Power to the diabetic people..

  • That is so nice, all the shout outs that you give :D

  • Thanks happy for another great explaination..

I realized some symptoms in the end that I didn't realize had to do with b/s. They usually give you a list at the doctors, but it's not all encompassing. For example, they don't talk much about that mood swing thing, and I feel like I'm going crazy. Didn't even realize that not sleeping was one. I don't sweat much, but hey not everything is the same for all diabetics. Thanks again for an encouraging and thoughtful video! Best of luck!

    Pam

  • heheh very nice!

  • Dude,,, Your sugar must have been low when you made that video. You couldn't have been in a normal range and act that goofy! Great job and it's a lot better than all those sappy cry-baby, JDRF give me money for a cure diabetic videos I see on YouTube.

  • Your so funny, I read what you wrote to my wife, she laughed and said He's right!

I would like to change that sterotype.

Your Focus euals your feeling... so why not be a Happy Diabetic and not handiap yourself from the beginning.

    Thanks again bro

  • Hey!

Thanks for the great videos, my sister and I really enjoy watching them!!

You are so positive and it's cool to see the happier side of diabetes, and to learn about more symptoms of high blood sugar.

We just wanted to say thank you for posting these videos about your diabetes and helping so many people laugh, including the two of us! :]

    Always Praying for a Cure,

    Mollie and Jackie

  • Thank you so much

  • ur funny

  • Hey Thanks So Much Man You Are So Right You Help And U r Funny i scubcribed myself i will watch more of your videos cause ur right!

  • Thank you. I'm going to try to get more videos out there!

  • thanks for making this video because i did not know reall alot about my high blood sugar now i know thankzz..

  • Glad to help share some of the feelings I have when My BG is High. Hopefully it will help you in regognizing High BGs sooner!

  • It's likely i've caught diabetes now. I've had some elevated bloodsugar levels in the past 2 weeks about. And I can really feel it. I can recognise most of the things mentioned in this video. But can't do anything about it. I'm undiagnosed... Going to see a doctor as soon as possible though...

  • good luck

  • Thank You for your great video. The muscle tightness and sweating that I have, I didn't know that it had to do with this problem. Hypogycemia is and has ruined my life. I can't concentrate and the mood swings have ruined alot of relationships for me.

  • I can speak from experience. My moodiness is not the best. Wish you the best

  • I have some of your high symptoms on my lows

I was diagnosed at the age of 11.

I'm 14 now and currently on injections but will soon be on the omnipod. I'm lookin forward to it but my nos. are still good on injections with the last A1C being 6.3 i can't complain. I appreciate your videos and thanks!

  • some of the symptoms feel the same. I hate when I treat by what I feel like and not test my BG.... sometimes it doesnt work out just right.

  • thanks for the videos man

  • no prob, thanks for watching.

  • I just love your videos!! Thanks for the comment on my daughter's video! I am definately subscribing to you. I love that you are able to be so upbeat and use humor all while helping others and educating. Great job!!! You get a gold star :-)

  • Hey 1:)(Dancing!)Diabetic! I was wondering if you could do a video on where else Diabetics could do a Blood Glucose instead of on their fingers? Keep up with the videos and the dancing!

  • Loved it. Good stuff, man: as usual! How's the new site coming along? Best of luck.

  • no affence but at 7:29 you look like Johnny Knoxville in the film Walking Tall, see ya man good luck with all your videos everything becaus, my cousin is a diabetic and i told him to look your videos, now he is doing like a pro he is 7, so keep up the good work, and me i am studying Diabetologi now, i just got started so its a good experience for me becaus i whant to find a cure for all the diabetics out there, and Bill... you are awsome man and you are very cool to. see ya have a greet day.

  • Thanks for the comment. I went right to 7:29... too funny I love it.

I'm really glad you checked out these videos and told your cousin. Tell me a bit more about Diabetologi?

    Stay Cool!

  • do you mean what the basics of Diabetologi mean or what, my bloodsugar is to high and and what i have learned of some of my friend is that if you take cinnamon cakes can lower your bloodsugar, believe it or now.. it works great, at least for me it did, well in Diabetologi you study about stem cells and about the pancreas you allso study about medicin to find a cure for the diabetics, yesterday they taught us how to do an insulinshot and my teacher whas suprised.

thanks man, best of luck from me

  • becaus i watched your videos, he sayd with a weird expresion on his face" how did you learn how to do an insulinshot so good and you did it like a pro, who taught you that" i used that tecnique you used wen you go in quick and fast, and he is like "what the hell" that whas funny when i saw his weird expression on his face, and one more thing... you dident mention another thing... about the aceton smell in the breath, anyway i hope it gous well with your site and my friend, Stay cool your awsome

  • It feels like shit.

  • I usually don't feel any different until by blood is over 220. However when I do the main symptoms are muscle cramps, sore eyes, sleepiness (opposite of you I guess), and this one is sort of weird... but it feels different when I breath through my nose.

  • YES THERE IS ANOTHER ONE OUT THERE THAT CAN "SMELL" THERE HIGHS!!!

I'm not so alone. Wierd feeling, breathing through the nose it feels like congested, but different for sure then a stuffy nose.

Thanks for all the great comments

  • and while im ranting, you know wat else rashes my diaper? the cure. i get emails and letters weekly telling me about this "new meter that makes your life easier!" or a "new insulin pump!" "hey alex! with this meter, you wont have to prick yourself! just mail this in blah blah blah!" *sigh* i dont want a new meter or a new $5000 insulin pump, i want a friggin permanent cure you greedy S.O.B's. the only new item that interests me is the constant BG monitor. after that, cure please?

  • amazing. nailed it. i get real pissy and sweaty and tired. keep these videos comin theyre awesome.

  • Brownie whats going on my Friend?

    Literally PISSY.... LOL

I kinda get a minor headache and my sinuses get stuffy. This might sound strange but I can "Smell" my highs. Wierd i know, it's less of a smell and more like pressure.

Glad you posted take care buddy!

  • hahaha i had to read that like 10 times to understand what you were tryin to say. lol yes, literally "pissy ;)". i didnt get that for like an hour. haha yes i get real irritable and just like a "get the hell away from me" feeling. but you my friend have a very unique symptom. you "smell" your highs hahaha. im not sure how ur BG effects ur sinuses...but we're all different! i noticed that when my sugar is hi, my musical coordination is off, cant play the banjo to save my life when im high(sugar)

  • Hey Hey!

You know losing your musical coordination might go in the same light as time kinda slowing and feeling just tense.

My gratherfather played the banjo! I'd love to see a video! Come on.... you know I'll find away to make into my videos.

Thanks again B Man! Good Luck!

  • You make Laugh. :-)

I can kinda relate with the Musical Stuff.

My Guitar Hero skills suffer badly with a low... last night I couldn't hit the solo... sure enough I was low...

That is a true story... I felt like Michael J Fox in Back to the Future where he is playing the guitar... and he is dissappearing.... then comes back to it to finish the song.

Yeah thats what I did last night, minus the crazy scientist and floating skateboard.

    :-)

  • hahaha guitar hero could quite possible be the most frustrating game in the world. i broke my guitar over the coffee table cause i cudnt beat Free Bird on expert. thats why i picked up the banjo :D i love back to the future. i think the one when he goes back to the old west is my favorite...i had a really bad low in the middle of washington d.c. one time and i kept asking for money to put in the pop machine and i sounded drunk so no one wud give me money cause they thought i was begging...*sigh*

  • but off topic comment, you know wat really grinds my grits? when people dont know the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes...ugh that pisses me off. im like "yeah i have diabetes" and theyre like "but your not fat!" ignorance is so irritating. how hard is it to know the difference between the two? everytime someone says that, i just think of wilfred brimley on his horse saying "do you have diabeetis?! call liberty! itll help you live a better life." *sigh* no, no it wont...

  • Yeah I think Diabetes has made me a bit crazy... How could it not.

I hate feeling like that, Diabetes to me are the feelings of Highs and Lows. I try to eleminate those the best I can and try to feel "Normal"....who is this NORMAL guy I want to meet Him/Her

    Laughs -1HappyDiabetic

  • DIABETES IS CRAZY THANKS

  • Great Comment. This rings true to me.

Being Sweaty, tired, and Hot like you said I confuse the High and Low symptoms too..

I hate when I treat what I think is a low, when in Fact I was 200 and going up. I you'll learn quick not to do that.

    Great Comment again,

    Thanks 1HappyDiabetic

  • Yeah, it is very easy to mix up the lows and highs feeling. Just a few days ago, I was feeling like I am low and was so sure that didn't even bother to spare a strip. Anyway, had a glass of orange juice and an apple. The feeling didn't go away so I checked my sugar level and it was 22 mmol/l (400 mg/dl). My personal best :).

So the bottom line is always check for highs and lows before treating.

  • When my BG is high or low my parents have noticed I get really quite. But before that I start talking alot then I just shut up. Which me not talking is something to be worried about. Also I get really patient when I get high. Usually I can not just sit and read a book or try to fix something but when I am high I can. Anyways, have a nice night.

  • Thank you for your post!

My roommate in college had Diabetes as well. He would get quict too, he wouldn't answer us and space out with his lows.

I feel the same way with my Highs.... times goes by slow, and I can't focus my attention on anything

  • You are so right, I wsh I added that....

Sometimes the symptoms of a High BG will seem like a low. Thats why you should check sugars on the onset of any symptoms.

Your body is trying tell you something... Listen the best you can.

Mr96tears - Thank you for #1 being the first to comment! More importanly thank you for adding such useful infomation for everyone to view.

    Thanks again!

  • No problem buddy. That's awesome that you do these videos. Is this a hobby or do you make a living educating diabetes? Very informative stuff. I've had way too many lows in the past...doing much better now. Lows make you crazy. Once I thought I was in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", I've cussed at EMT workers and cops, done a few dance routines, met Rusty Wallace and made an ass of myself...I've got some stories. Lows can be very scary. Not good to wake up to paramedics. Thanks

  • Thanks again for the post. I love doing these videos. It's a Hobby you could say. I wish I could post more, I have sooooo much useful info to share.

I'm a professional in the Diabetes Industry. Can't say for who, but I am limited on what I can present in my videos sometimes (all of the time) because of my contract.

My knowledge is more personal on Diabetes. I have been managing my Diabetes SOLO since I was 10. Yup once I could do the shots for myself my parents took a backseat.

  • Thanks man you have really helped me with my diabetes, from the injections to the warning signs of high and low sugars. Thanks again friend.

  • I am honored to help. Thank you for your comments, I wish you the best.

Funny thing is that I can tell I have a High BG with I am driving and I look in my review and see myself with a funny smurk on. Wierd.

    Thanks again.

  • I'm 30, been a type one diabetic since 15. Soemtimes my lows/highs have the same symptons. For instance, at work I was hot, sweaty, confused, ornary, shaky...thought I was low. Those are normally my symptons for a low. Checked my sugar a few times...over 200. It was very hot that day, so I had been drinking some juice. I guess I had too much juice. That's why i check my sugar often. Sometimes you get fooled. My A1C's average 7.0 right now. Not too bad, but room for improvement. Thanks

  • I've noticed the same.

My highs and lows can have the same shakes and sweat (Wierd but I have noticed if I sweat from above my forehead is usually a high)

The BIG difference is how the LOWS feel. I explain in my other video on Lows how you get a funny feeling in your stomach. That never happens to me with High.

Thank you for your comment and insight

  • I get a funny feeling in my stomach too when my blood sugar is low, I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
