Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark and DCS A-10C Warthog, very nice sims, only available through steam i think.

Movie Maker is a "entering level" software and thats not enough as you said....
You can add video effects to your projects with ADOBE PREMIER or SONY VEGAS.
i think Adobe Premier has cooler effects but it uses more ram and cpu, Sony Vegas runs better and more user friendly and it's sony :)
i work with Sony Vegas Pro 8.
