Authors shouldn't insult others' work. Shouldn't they lift each other up? If people read one series, they could turn to another, thus building a readership for everyone. This just puts people off reading her stuff.

I think that she's bent over backwards to avoid being insulting. This is parody in the finest tradition of the form. I'm sure that if Christiana had wanted to be insulting that would have been much easier. That being said, despite their sales numbers, that other series has nothing on the quality of anything from the pen (or word processor) of Ms. Ellis.
