it's like phil collins and yeasayer had a kid that took a bunch of acid in the tropics and decided to record an album. absolutely the best album of 2011. so modern and timeless....and so EFFORTLESS sounding
their beats kinda remind me of songs like I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You by Black kids. if anybody knows what im talking about
"HUHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" - i love their songs that have that punch the most ;-) that "huh" effect always reminds me of this obscure 80s band called Danse Society. Oh, & i can never just listen to this once... it's too short, so always twice!!
this song is so good... just found out about friendly fires today because teen vogue wrote about them and i read it there and wow they are so gooood... seriously my type of music
that's awesome... every now & again, some magazine publication mentions a good band. I'm glad they're slowly, but sure getting some exposure here in the states... & they sure like to come play in my city, luckily :)
