  • This scene on the Musical alway even if I try not to is very very emotional

  • proud to say my school is doing this show :)

  • cried when i was seeing this :'(

  • never seen the movie.

  • Ogni volta che rivedo questo pezzo, mi vengono i brividi e mi commuovo.. incredibile

  • juan peron can not see Che . He only feels him as Eva did . And actually Antonio's lines in the end makes me cry ...

  • beauty lies in the limited

  • I thought Antonio Bandaras was the perfect Che, and Madonna the perfect Eva Peron!

I thought it was chilling how he kissed the coffin at the end, Juan Peron's face, and the tolling bell....

  • He is not really there in a physical sense. During the whole story no one notices him except when he interacts with the person of interest. At the funeral, nobody sees him except Peron. Perhaps as a manifestation of his concience

  • And I would like to add: R.I.P., Officer Mark Allen MacPhail and Troy Anthony Davis. *cries* :'(

  • So sad, and so beautiful. R.I.P., Evita Peron. :(

  • Antonio is the narrater and represents all the people. He is not really there in body.

  • @Janiehawkes Actually it's been hinted that his character is a young Che Guevara before going to Cuba.

  • @Spudfish93 Yes, but not in this version.

  • @txgleek It's the same version as the stage, it's just been adapted to film.

Ergo, it's hinted he's a young Che Guevara in every version.

  • Antonio is not a person who loves her, he is all the people. Thats why he can make comments to Juan Perone, and why he just walks to the coffin in the middle of the line of viewers.

  • @Janiehawkes true i was allways wondering but u notice that in all the parties it seems he just invites himself lolz

  • I like this song. When i watch this movie, this song stuck with me, just the feel of it has a lot of emotion.

  • Since I've only posted replies on this video, let me post a true comment. Evita may be gone, but she'll never be forgotten. No matter how many years pass, no matter who says what about her, her true story will remain with the survivors of the era and those who love her not as Santa Evita or the ambitious Eva Peron, but just simply...Evita, a human being with a heart of gold and a will of iron.

RIP, our beloved Evita. You'll be forever missed.

  • madonna is really good in this scene but antonio makes a good job, too love his eyes they are so honest, i don't know, but i really think that

it's jut adorabal how he is standing next to her coffin with tears in his eyes

  • this is one of the best scenes

  • haha when che is leaning over eva's coffin (or kissing it, idk which), i love peron's expression...

    4:15 ish

  • @stambeccuccio will you make a video of Madonna's version of Rainbow Tour from Evita?

  • The best movie of Madonna, she is amazing and Antonio was perfect to.

  • Can it also be said that Antonio Banderas did a God-awesome job in this film too.

  • @MissMiffed Yes, it can. He was amazing. He can sing, dance...practically anything.

  • I loveedd this movieee it was gooodd

  • such a beautiful movie!

  • my fave part ( no offense to madonna ) of this scene is the scene between che and peron. Che is giving him a look like ok buddy boy now what are you gonna do now that she's gone?

  • This is one of the 2 best songs. Freaking intense. =D

  • You don't love meh also..//

  • The broadway version of this one is better in my opinion- Patti Lupone is more powerful and believable as Eva.

  • she was born with nothing and gone with everything

  • I hate that she died so young, Damn Peron and his womanizing, she died of cancer but her immune system was weakened by a STD given to her by Peron

  • @csi3willows where'd you hear that at?

  • @csi3willows I agree that she died too young she would hae made a wonderful Vice President of Argentina.

  • @luvablekrazykat I agree, too. Had she listened to the doctors and had the hysterectemy that could have saved her life, she'd be alive today, turning 92 on May 7.

  • all i gotta say is that Eva slept her way to the top she could have gotten an STD all by herself. So it's not only Juan's fault. Just saying something to think about.

  • so Juan Peron has a Sexual Transmitted Disease before and he passed that disease to Evita...what a fucking husband !

  • @6digit In Peron's defense, I doubt he knew he had it. His first wife died of uterine cancer, a relative to cervical cancer. So you can't blame Peron completely. He must have had it since he was born.

  • love this scene and hate it as madonna looks uncanny like my sister on her death bed before she died. i travelled to london to say goodbye to my sister and when i left she died 2 days later. the song you must love me reminds me of the day i said goodbye

  • does Evita said that world "don't cry for me Argentina" during her final years as a politician?

  • So is it true that Peron killed her from a STD from his previous wife, didnt he think to take precautions !!!! not sure if they knew about protection in those days or that country. So antonio is blaming peron for her death basically is that right????

  • @n2i2c2k2y In a sense, yes. It was revealed last year that an STD can give a higher risk for cervical cancer, so I'm convinced that Peron killed Evita unintentionally. Also, Evita herself refused to get treatment for the cancer, but the diagnosis was kept from her. Had she known, she would have saved herself and lived longer. Everyone is at fault for the death of Evita.

  • @VanitasxAura unintentionally, if he had kept his business quiet, he knew what he was doing if he did cheat on her then slept with her again, or got his nut licked, i dont care the fact he did that and knew full well that what gets me !!!!!

  • If should would only let go of her enormous ego, we would get to see this often. Her true acting ability. She can summon them tears, her voice crack, I think she was channeling her mother. For those of you who don't know anything about Madonna, her mother died at 30 of cancer. This part always gets me everytime. She can be a good actress if she wanted.

  • @chotzrary She didn't hace that ego. This movie is terrible, you should watch the Argentinian film that tells the true and political story. This is such a big marketing thing, the only good thing that have are some songs and the costume. But it wasn't like that.

  • @iloveweasley5 Well the movie was based on a largely discredited biography of Eva Peron which wasn't apparently too supportive. But they didn't know it wasn't true at the time so you can cut them some slack. But you are right, the Argentine film is more accurate probably because it wasn't a musical maybe?

  • makes me cry everytime i watch this scene

  • why are there two people who dont like this scene? :( its heartwrenching from almost every angle :(

not to mention how powerful antonio is in this scene. the whole scene is magnificent

  • absolutly beautiful scene

  • thank you very much for posting these. What a life she lived....

  • Que buena que esta esta peli. Me gusta mucho MAS que las otras versiones que se han hecho, porque tiene TODOS los puntos de vistas con respecto al pirronismo en la época de Evita.

  • q iso evita por argentina o por el mundo

  • she should of got an oscar for this

  • @Ladyluck2806 i belive she actually won something like that best actress in a musical and best movie ..musical or something like that

  • @edgarivanrivera oh cool, thanks

  • bravo antonio ur voice speak for ur self

  • The great beauty of this film is that it is done as an opera, not like a Hollywood musical and you almost have to remind yourself that it is an opera or you don't even notice. It was a daring thing to make and magically worked. It will be classic for a long long time and Madonna, while not a great singer of this type was top notch. And Antonio surprisingly good.

  • amazing

  • Yeah It's sad :(

  • 2:25 is where it actually gets good.

  • Madonna, you can be awesomely commercial and a perfect material girl, but face it!, You're one of the worsts actresses I've ever seen! LOL

  • @ManuelRochaCR How can you watch this and say that she's a bad actress?!

  • @plamenlesev Because I'm not a crazy fanatic? - This allows me to see beyond commercial singers like Madonna. :)

  • I FINALLY UNDERSTAND CHE'S PART NOW!!!! Peron gave Eva cervical cancer in real life...

  • @MisstressFurter Peron didn't give Eva cervical cancer, you can't catch cancer from someone

  • @JuJuMJFan4life It was recently revealed that an STD can give people a higher chance of developing cervical cancer. My best guess was that Juan might have had that STD and accidentally gave her cancer. His first wife died of uterine cancer, and cervical cancer's in the same region of the body. It might be a coincidence that they both died of a similar cancer, but I'm still convinced that Peron had an STD.

  • @VanitasxAura OHH.....ok thanks for clearing that up for me I didn't hear about that Thanks.

  • @JuJuMJFan4life This isn't confirmed, but the theory of an Evita and Peron lover. I'm glad I was able to help.

  • @JuJuMJFan4life kinda...HPV puts you at higher risk and that is transferred sexually.

  • I CANT STOP CRYING T.T I LOVE THIS MOVIE AND SONG!!!

  • The orchestras music is very powerful.

  • This movie, Titanic, and Lord of the Rings are the movies that cemented my ambition to be a filmmaker.

  • I cry everytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • aguante argentina carajoo

  • She was my sort of lady.

A true woman of the people. Their ideology truly was third way. And it still managed to be neither socialist nor capitalist nor fascist. I think they found the soul of man again and managed to hold it for a second or two tightly.

  • She looks so young, so innocent without make-up and with her hair in plaits...

I just wanna cry and give her a big hug when I see this.

  • ALWAYS makes me cry! Perfection... True movie magic!

  • Comment removed

  • she died of both cervial cancer and lung cancer

  • hermoso... lloreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

  • if anyone is wondering she died of lung cancer

  • @theringfilm1 it was cervical

  • @themaxster100 which is lungs

  • @theringfilm1 no, cervical has to do with the uterus

  • @theringfilm1 Nope. Uterine Cancer.

  • @emlodik omfg my music teacher looked it up for me dont say that im wrong tell her that but i know it.

  • @theringfilm1 YOU tell her that!

  • (Eva:) Wybór był mój i tylko mój Mogłam mieć każdą nagrodę, jakiej zapragnęłam Mogłam spłonąć w pełnej okazałości najjaśnwiejszego ognia Albo, albo mogłam wybrać czas Pamiętaj, że byłam wtedy bardzo młoda Rok trwał tyle co wieczność i jeden dzień Więc ile by trwało 50, 60, 70 lat? ... Zobaczyłam światła i odnalazłam drogę I jak ja żyłam... jak błyszczały I jak szybko światła zgasły
  • MADONNA IDOLA¡¡

  • she is a good actress even that some people sais somethin else

  • in this scene, she may have been thinking about her mom

  • This part always makes me bawl my eyes out. It's so devastatingly sad. :(

  • @xXPersephoneXx if you cry at the end, it means that she fooled you, the way she fooled millions of Argentines. Eva's death is not one worth crying for.

  • @evaperonwasbad you don't know anything what she has done for Argentina's civil then STFU. Thank you.

  • @RyouItaruHou you mean stealing from the rich and the poor and driving the economy into the ground? You are acting just like her, telling people of the opposing viewpoint to shut up. We all have our opinions and are entitled to speak them. IMO, and in the opinion of MANY others, Eva was nothing more than a tool in the hands of a dictator. She was against free speech, democracy and women's rights, everything that I stand for. That is why I oppose her.

  • @RyouItaruHou and BTW, I hate NO person. I hate POISONED IDELOGIES like fascism that oppress others and humiliate them. I've studied Eva's life and Peronism was just fascism with other influences put together. Anyone walking away from such ideologies can be a friend of mine. Anyone entangled in such ideologies I pity and want nothing to do with.

  • @evaperonwasbad

so she derserved 2 die? wow ur such a nice person glad i dont know you...

  • @stoneyinluv You obviously don't know the story about how she stole from the rich AND the poor, harbored Nazis and condoned torture and was a fascist. Not that she deserved to die, but I think that what she experienced in the end was karma.

  • @GoddessofCoruscant i agree

  • @mozart0106 thank you very much. Like i said, I hate no person unless they do something to me personally that makes me hate them. I hate POISONED IDEOLOGIES such as fascism that drive wedges between people.

  • @GoddessofCoruscant

i never said that. and maybe it was karma so what. got nothing to do with me. personally i do agree with you on most points you make. i just didnt like the fact you said she deserved to die. take care.

  • @GoddessofCoruscant Umm, JUAN Peron harboured Nazis to get a slice of the technological pie that the rest of Europe and North America had already got from Nazis. She was in no way a fascist, elections were held in Argentina during their tenure, rival political parties were allowed to exist, women's suffrage was achieved. In regards to torture all of the regimes that followed until the restoration of democracy after the Falklands War tortured far more people without giving anything back.

  • madonna should've won the oscar after she god the globe... not just for this scene, but for the entire movie. amazing performance, period.

  • If you liked these extracts, I recommend you rent or buy the DVD of the complete movie....ma grazie mille a stambeccuccio

  • this is the bets scene.

the part when Antonio sings is most beutiful song of the whole movie

  • Madonna killed her part in this movie! (No pun intended) but ANTONIO REALLLLYYYYYYY KICK BUTT TOO!!!! I LOVED HIS CHARACTER!!!!! ahhh i love this movie so much!!

  • where's Rainbow Tour and The Lady's Got Potential?

  • @evaperonfan yea i can't find them either

  • @evaperonfan i cant fined it either, there my favorite songs

  • can someone plz download the sceen where person tell her she dieing. i would rly grateful

  • i love the way she died

  • Viva Evita y Viva Argentina, mi segunda patria!

  • Over 200 people were trampled to death trying to see her body. She was indeed a great lady who was completely adored by her people.

  • @greenmuffin101 I compleately agree with you. She was an amazing person. She did alot to help the Argentine. I wish that someday someone like her will run America.

  • This song always makes me want to cry--it's one of the most beautiful parts of this film/musical...

  • Thank you!

Muchas gracias por subirla en partes, como casi toda la pelicula es cantada fue como verla completa.

    Gracias por el aporte.

  • Argentina is a very rish and powerful country. They are rivals in many regards to Brazil.

  • for a country so powerful, what happened in 1982 when Argentina got there ass kick by a country twice as small as them?

And for a country so powerful, why have they not for the falklands?

  • We are a 3rd world country, because Peron was president in Argentina, to the town what it is for the town

  • No. Argentina is a rich country, but your's lider's get to much promisis to people of Argentina, not restrucured argentina's industry.... it's problem.

  • So tragically beautiful

  • Anyone else think Madonna sang live

  • Can someone please try to explain the interaction of Che and Juan Peron at the very end? I don't really understand it...

  • Comment removed

  • I always saw it as Che singing Juan Peron to his doom because he was overthrown three years later. It is also Che talking about Peron's choice to have Eva's body preserved forever.

  • I always took this to mean that Che was warning Peron that his days of being able to ignore the commoners, and leaning on Eva to provide the illusion that he cared were gone, and that there would soon be a day of reckoning.

  • that makes sense. it didn't make sense to me either.

  • I agree. Somewhere in the film his council corrected him and said "she's the one whose kept you where YOU are."

  • i can't find the part where evita is at a hospital bed and peron says she is dying i love that scene.

  • 4:11

    Eyes, Hair, Face, Image,

    All must be preserved.

    Still Life displayed forever,

    No less than she deserved.

As the death bell rings, this was supposed to be the part where Ché notes that a monument was to be built for Eva "Only the pedestal was completed, when Evita's body disappeared for seventeen years...."

  • Evita's body was not transfered to another coffin. It was taken and hidden in the same coffindifferent locations after the military coup in 1955. This was done in fear of the public growing into a fanatic hysteria. Eva's body was taken to Milan, Italy where it was buried under a different name. It was then exhumed in the 1970's by order of Isabel Peron, Juan Peron's third wife, who returned the body to Eva's family for burial in the Recoleta, in the Duarte plot.

  • Yes, I do believe you're right; that's precisely what happened. :-)

  • I'm sad :(

Best part in the whole movie. Really shows off Madonna's passion and intensity the best

  • Question: If Evita Duerte Peron's body was not found for seventeen years, then how did they have a transparent casket showing her body?

  • @eman2489 I assume her body disappeared after it was shown to the public. "The body disappeared" usually means it was stolen in transit from wherever it was on display to it's final resting place.

  • A few years after her death, Peron was overthrown in a military coup. The new dictatorship hid the body.

  • They transferred her body to another casket.

  • best scene ever but i always cry at this bit. antonio bandares is actually a good singer.

  • this is one of the best movie scenes ever.

    long live MADONNA

  • omg this scene always fills my eyes wirth tears...

  • the light going out signifys her death right?

  • doi

  • @GwendolynBlack That's right.

Maria Eva Ibarguern Duarte de Peron, spiritual leader of Argentina, entered immortality at 9:25 on July 26, 1952. (Yes, they said 8:25, probably to keep it interesting).

    Have a safe Memorial Day.

  • @GwendolynBlack

yes the light going out is the sign that she is goine.

  • @GwendolynBlack yeah

  • @GwendolynBlack Yes it signifies that she had died.

  • @GwendolynBlack it is a catholic tradition. It usually is done when it is obvious that the person is about to pass. They let the candle burn until that last breath is taken and the person closest to the passed blows it out. It is usually done with national leaders and dignitaries. Which would explain all the candles around her.

  • Még mindig libabőrös vagyok, olyan szééép zene, történet. Időtálló mű!

  • I love this clip and all others from this film. But for over a year, I've been looking for the clip in which Peron tells Eva she is dying while they are in the hospital. It would be great if someone could upload that clip here on youtube. I had a copy of the movie on DVD, of course, but a friend borrowed it and has not not returned it for the longest time.

  • The song is called "Your Little Body's Slowly Breaking Down." Just in case that helps, but I have not seen it on Youtube at all.

  • I just spent a bit of time looking for that too and couldn't find it. :(

  • It's on there now.

  • Ohh My Godd , she really tried to win a Oscar...rsssss..

  • Quizas la mejor parte de la pelicula... fabuloso el lamento!!

  • I've just seen the movie and I love the part where Che is singing. Thanks for uploading!

  • She is very touching.

  • @stambeccuccio why don't you upload Rainbow Tour and Santa Evita?

  • I know "Evita" is supposed to be lying on her deadbed here, but Madonna actually looks so beautiful.

    Wonderful movie!
