  • Guys this is great! Who is the 162 couple?

  • @JuhBlah, i agree with u about the new style dance in samba today not only the bounce is missing but also the Tick and the rhythm through out the complete body. and I think certain judges agree with us I think that's why u saw certain couples placed before other couple that u may like. the judges were looking for the purist.

  • i love the dancing in this video you could really see the professionalism and dedication of the participants, precision of the movements are well executed.

  • Woman in red - is amazing!!!

  • Julia Zagoruichenko is the best!

  • the cha cha song title?

  • @AhOngLoveToDAnce : "Love Potion Number 9" -Mike Pender

  • La classe!

  • This is the first time that I have seen Melia in a dress that I like! She looks great!, sometimes her dresses just don't do her justice, all those puffy skirts, she has a great figure she should go for this look more often

  • Max Z. is so graceful, but he seems more like a show. He seems to come alive with this jive. Yulia is so neat and perfect , she needs to be more latin in order to beat Joanna. Joanna is amazing in this video. It was a real toss between Skuca and Surkov, as they were superb with their ladies. Great music. Thanks for video.

  • I loved seeing Max and Yulia together! My fave couple of all time!

  • what's the name of the song at the beginning.

  • It's performed by Ross Mitchel @ this comp, but the original song is The Beatles - Love potion Nr.8.

  • Slavik is so much better than Michael. Shame He cant find a better partner.

  • a very slow samba

  • does anyone know the names of the songs?

  • Cha Cha: Love Potion #9

Samba: Something in My Eye (?)

Rumba: (A Slower and Instrumental Version of) I Can't Wait Until Tonight

Jive: Jump Jive 'n Wail [by Brian Setzer]

Paso almost always uses a variation of the Espana Cani beat, so just find an Espana Cani song and you're set.

  • Although keep in mind that in the UK they have a live band playing these to their specifications of the competition, so originals will sound far different!

  • How do people upload tv shows and they're so crystal clear? That always made me wonder. haha

  • lol on 1:16.. she almost tripped herself..!

  • this is really good my favorite is Micheal but the thing i hate about samba is that barely anyone uses the bounce anymore

  • @JuhBlah597

I can remember "the bounce" danced in the samba, back in the mid and late 1970's. Boy, I was really glad that they rid of that dance action. I can't recall how many dancers messed up the timing. I knew of a very good amateur couple "champs" who just could not get the timing of the entire dance. It was bad, although without "the samba bounce", the dance needs characterization.

  • @mistykitten1 "Bounce" is in the knee. Now a day, the bounce has been absorbed into the hips, that's all. Bounce is still a Samba characteristic.

  • @seravi Just thought I would add... And you are correct in the fact the "BOUNCE" is in the knee. But Samba Bounce is created by the compression and straightening of both the knee and ankle of the leg supporting most of the weight of the body!

  • @JuhBlah597

ur not supposed to bounce up and down anyway? a lil bit yea but ur supposed to use ur hips instead of bouncing up n down, thats for new learners

  • oh and one more thing....the beat of the paso is kind slower than usual...is that normal?...this is the orginal beat?

  • Is this recently guys?....and who was the champion?

  • it was in January 2007

  • Who won this one?

  • 1. Malitowski/Leunis (198)

    2. Skuca/Venturini (4)

    3. Surkov/Melia (76)

    4. Koznikov/Zaugorouitchenko (30)

    5. Gavriline/Kryuchkova (132)

    6. Richardson/Rodinova (162)

  • ohh my god, this wonderful, i am exited whit this, thanks every body for the espectacular show. congratulations!!!!

  • dude...every single one of the people good at latin ballroom dances can EASILY learn any dance like salsa,merengue,batchata,etc..they are so much easier...much less technique, you just have to learn some steps and shake your ass,no offence...i am a D class ballroom dancer and i still can learn how to do a salsa in maximum 3-4 hours...for the dances that i am doing i have been practicing for 5 years and i still suck compared to top class ballroom dancers...so it's the other way around

  • Although my heart will always have a soft spot for salsa (the first dance I learned after living in Puerto Rico for a bit) which I danced for years before trying ballroom, I TOTALLY agree that international style latin ballroom is much, much more difficult. There is a strict precision that is not required to dance salsa, due much to the fact that ballroom is syllabus based, whereas salsa and other social latin dances do not require.

  • With that said, people on these posts need to recognize AND ACCEPT the fact that yeah, International Style Latin Ballroom is not typically danced by many hispanics, and that's OK. Social latin dances (salsa, merengue, cumbia, bachata, etc) and latin ballroom dances are not the same, so get over it. Respect them both... any good dancer will. They have different purposes, and typically different audiences. I dance salsa at the clubs and latin ballroom at the competitions, and it's good.

  • @blittster

    Well said.

  • @blittster well said... i compete in ballroom and latin and dance salsa at clubs too :)

  • Vince solo perchè Bryan si è ritirato

  • the day this people dance to a good Merengue Ripiado, or a good salsa, or Bachata I will believe you can call it Latin dance, until then that is not latin Dance. Go to a real Latino Club and see how we dance.

  • There people dance for visual picture, they use different techniques. There is so much small figures, every step has a secret to do it perfectly. All these people are incredible and strong,i personally believe that they crazy about dancing and can dance every dance, also i'm 100% sure that all of these finalists would dance 100x times better than your 'latinits' from club. For me to dance salsa or bachata in club is a piece of cake. And i didn't learn it as it comes from inside of every dancer.

  • Those dances you mentioned are the original inspirations, as well as influences from Africa, but these Dancesport (or, Sportdance in Europe) are highly-refined advanced versions. Much harder. They incorporate "merengue action" only better. It takes a lifetime to accomplish their techniques, and only a few hours in a club for yours.

  • Yes I know they are Originally inspirations from Africa. I know my Culture, I know my people, I know my roots, I know my music. Yes it is true this EuroDancers have fancy foot work, But is it the right one with this rythem? NO!

  • What are fak you talking about? It's not only footwork.. Emotion, charisma, connection, there are million things... I bet you don't know anything about dancing and trying to prove your sh1t. so go and dance in your club where ''all dancers are perfect''!1!

  • hope someday i can dance like them..plz watch this video ( MSU-GSC AT 47TH FOUNDATION ANNIV- DANCESPORT)...THANKS!

  • Yulia & Max are too good ! :P and the Polish couple are on another level completely !! :)

  • so nice

  • i don't understand why in pro latin they start every time with cha cha

  • not all pro starts with cha cha.,...it depends on the place of event,,,,

  • does anybody knows cha cha song name?

  • Love Potion Number 9, no idea who sings it though.

  • I want to be Melia!

  • malitowsky e sergey sn bravissimi... anke se Slavik è il migliore in assoluto per me...

La nuova coppia Riccardo & Yulia???!?!??!... pure nn skerza...

  • Escuse me.. But I'm kinda new to knowing these stuff but I'm loving it!! Can someone pliz tell me who these dancers n their partners are?? Who is the one in:

    Black dress -

    Red dress -

Brown dress(the one with long black ponytail) -

Brown dress with blue n white strips at side(the cute smallest dancer) -

White dress with black n white strips(Hair in a bun) -

    Light blue dress(Redhead) -

    Thank you!!

  • In Black Dress 1.Michael Malitowski and Joana Leunis - He won last and this year.

Red Dress - Paul Richardson - Olga Rodionova they were 6th.

76 Number is Sergey Sourkov and Melia. They were 3rd last and this year.

"the cute smallest dancer" - Andrei Gavriline - Elena Kryuchkova - they were 5th last and 6th this year.

White dress with black n white strips - is Maxim Kozhevnikov - Yulia Zagorouitchenko they were 4th.

Andrej Skufca - Katarina Venturini -lady in light blue dress. They were 2nd.

  • Rumba song please anybody knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's ''Love potion number 9'' - simple...

  • It is chacha song.. Look closely what he really needs.

  • (2:13) michael at samba looks like crazy.

  • Sergey (76) looked AMAZING in cha cha and jive. Look at the foot change at 1:05! WOW!

  • You ment Slavik not Sergey , cause (76) is Slavik&Elena.

  • NO its Sergey....Slavik & elena didnt even

    compete here haha.

  • Nope, Slavik and Elena didn't compete in this one. 76 is Sergey Sourkov and Melia. Like I said, they are excellent.

  • Yes, I was completely stunned by that move as well. Kudos Sergey.

  • Can i please get the name of that amazing rumba!!!

  • which couple is the winner here?

  • Malitowski and Leunis.

  • Slavik Kryklyvyy is missing...:(

  • Who are couple #132?

  • #132 andrei and elena from usa

  • Malitowski/Leunis...the best on the floor

  • I have absolutely no dance expertise whatsoever. Please could you explain why Max is the weakest (I assume he is the one in all white)?

  • I have no idea either. I'm a latin dancer myself, amateur of course, but I can't tell why he's the weakest. He seems to have good connection with the floor and he really knows how to present his partner who is very very good. Maybe its because he doesn't look as natural as his partner?

  • Hard to say, I would say he doesnt make his movements eoughh/clear. Less control.

  • foot speed. he's in time of course, but he has more beat to play with.

  • my coach actually told me that the secret here that most competitors forget is that though most of the audience are fixated on the lady 70% of the time the judges will be looking at the man as he is the one with the lead. I find this true actually as I usually end up looking at the guy's movement more. In max's case I think it was hard seeing that Yulia was such a great and clear dancer and he wasn't as clear as her but they do have this great musicality and connection to them

  • I'm not too sure of the names but did anyone notice the slight "meeting" between the women of couple no. 30 (Yulia, I think) and 4 (Katerina, I think) during the jive? They were both really cool and carried on. True Professionalism.

  • who won here? malitowski/leunis?

  • Does anybody know what's the title of that rumba?

  • thats awesome!

  • So unfortunate that Richardson (162) has retired a great man and such a great way of dancing! Well.... Now we got Rachael Heron & Ryan Mc Shane!!! Wahey! Gonna be amazin in Jan!!! Just u watch!

  • Great video, Andrei and Elena are great. Yulia and Max are amazing.

  • OMG! Yulia is soooooo great!!!! She deserves the first position!

  • Andrei and Elena are the best! What's the name of the song for Cha Cha?

  • love potion no.9

  • go to dancesportinfo dot net and see that they were pro then....and those are them

  • Of all the latin couples, i feel that andre skufca and katarina venturini don't get the respect they deserve. Ive always been a fan of this couple but come blackpool 2008, they better step it up because couples like Ricardo and yulia, the stokebroes, and sergei/agnieska are right on their heels.

  • i have one favour

plz can u send me a song "samba"

called " lo se " do u have it?

  • Joanna is simply the best...

  • Comment removed

  • a real shame karina smirnoff wasnt in this competition.

  • I know. I wish she and Slavik would dance together again!!!

  • my trainor karina will never dance again wid slavik

  • I know! and it's so sad cause I think Slavik-Karina partnership is the best partnerships they've had on both sides!

    They had such great chemistry!

  • nr 162 are peter stokkebroe and kristina stokkebroe

  • Peter and Kristina had not turned pro yet. Couple 162 is Paul Richardson and Olga Rodionova

  • they;re now pro...

  • 162: paul richardson and olga rodionova. i don't think kristina stokkebroe is as good as olga.

  • Comment removed

  • better than Yulia?? Are you kidding?

  • Comment removed

  • GOD I LOVE YUILA, I LOVE HER!

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong!

162: paul richardson and olga rodionova. They are awesome.

  • very strong dancers...i wanna find more info about them...and not only about them but the others too like:DiFillipo,Vescovo, franova etc...if someone knows a site where i can find correct infos about them or interwievs pls contact me!thank u so much

  • who's couple number 4?

  • Who is number 162? I don't recognize them but I like their dancing.

  • Paul Richardson and Olga Rodionova. They recently won the British National Professional Latin Championhip and then retired from competition.

  • whats the chacha song?

  • Love potion no.9

  • what's the rumba song???anyone?

  • nice dancing

  • Oh My God, The singers actually hurt my ears. They are so naff..

  • name of samba anyone???????

  • Something In My Eye

  • ....but surname Melnicka

  • Who's Melia? I thought her name was Agnieszka

  • her real name is agnieszka it's just that donnie calls her melia i dunno y lol

  • you can realy see that sergey and melia are trained by donnie bruns. You see that she's imitating in this video Gaynors dancing.

  • Now that I've seen some of Donnie's and Gaynor's videos from their dancing, they have zero resemblence between them.

  • I am really trying to get my head around sergey and melia's dancing, i think he's ok but melia, walking into fan in cha cha (1:02 secs) she is just so stiff.

  • To me Sergey is better than Michael Malitowski. Melinda is stiff, yeah, but she has personality and she carries herself very well. But what I don't understand at all is Max and Yulia. Neither of them is especially good and Max looks more like a quarter-final dancer at best.

  • agree

  • I agree. Yulia is deserving of her place in the finals but errrmmm.....Max is leagues below the other men in the finals. Melia has a very different style from the other women and I think you either hate it or love it.

  • agree, max is the weakest on the floor.

  • sorry I don't mean to disrespect the fans or anything as I do appreciate their subtle style of the Man Woman approach but... Melia really needs to loosen up in competitions...

  • Comment removed

  • See Malitowski live, than we'll talk;)

  • OH NO!!!!! What should we do now???? :DDDDD

  • jay ALWAYS has the best videos!

  • Thanks jayziac for all the dancing videos im an international latin and standard dancer myself
