what is the size difference between this knife and the Ozark trail knife which i currently own cause i like the style put hate my Ozark trail knife I am looking for a USA made one to put in my belt pouch instead of the Ozark trail knife but need the same 7 1/2 over roll length for my pouch
Brilliant review! I'm hoping to order one of these this week if I can find one in stock in the UK.I've got the Buck Alpha Hunter,It's a work of art-a truly magnificent knife! Which is why I want another Buck!
I've owned this knife for about 5 years now and I think it's a work of art. I recently remove the scales and polished the metal. I did find some time ago and found it to be too heavy and a bit too thick and heavy for EDC, though. I keep it on my desk at home just to admire it.
@ansdguy It is somewhat thick, but for me, this is offset by the fact it does not have a pocket clip, it's loose in my pocket whenever I have it on me. It is a beauty right :)
I've been considering my options for a new knife. I thought about the TOPS/BUCK CSAR-T Responder, but it's a monster for everyday carry and NOBODY has a review for it.
Thanks a lot for the review on the aplha dorado. I really like the grip being larger than the ones on most blades that size. I'll probably buy one sometime this year.
@ryanrrx cool! I have the alpha folding hunter, it's a beast of a folder and I like the blade shape, different than the fixed blade anyway. Bucks are great! enjoy it buddy
I also have this knife and really like it. It is a very functional size (neither too big nor too small), and is an extremely good looking knife. I agree that it locks up very well, with no wiggle that I can detect -- it might not feel as rock-solid as a Buck 110, perhaps, but it is a different mechanism.
is the blade finish a mirror finish or a satin finish? I just bought one and it looks like it might be tarnished. Other than that I think this is great knife. Please advise.
@MyPhotog Couldn't advise on it, if it's tarnished, return it to the dealer, but good to know you like it. Too bad to hear that it's tarnished though.
@MyPhotog thanks, for me, both my alpha dorado knives are rock solid in all directions. The liner 'bites' a little bit when opening the knife a lot in succession, but that's not how you'd normally use it.

@ryanrrx you're welcome :) did you get it already and what do you think?

Nice. Was just looking at this at Cabela's.
Glad you did the review. Didn't realize it was treated 154cm. I guess that explains the price tag. (not BAD, just a bit more than I was expecting.)
Either way, it's a nice piece. Unique.

I like this and construction. Nice presentation. My question is how is the lockup and blade play/wiggle. Is it rock solid up/down/side to side?
