  • "children don't grow up; our bodies get bigger, but our hearts get torn up" brings a little tear to my eye every time. Make me think back to those innocent childhood years, ignorant to the world problems and yet so impossibly happy. ( i wanted to be simba as a child)

  • @Thebeginingisner ohmygod.

that's what i always think; and it's so true, too. now it's like.. we've been revealed to how terrible the world really is. ahhhhhippimoment D:

  • Awesome ♥

  • This sounds just like a song for lent we would sing at my church... does any one else know what I mean?

    It's still an amazing song

  • i thought they always try to hard to make a statement of some sort, and portray there medium skills for making music. i do really like this song though. maybe i will continue to listen, to others.

  • This song reminds me of how the world is going down hill. How people are going to computors and never go outside. People are calling people names and calling people fat. We all have those days when we arn't our best, I know, but every day I see people getting beat up (physically, and verbly). Are we gonna let those people do that?

You don't have to like this or anything, Just notice it, don't just listen to the first sentence and say, "This is the most shit I've read in a day!"

    Cuz it ain't...

  • I like the live videos of this better, for some reason, especially the one in england.

  • We're just a million little god's causin rain storms turnin' every good thing to rust.

I guess we'll just have to adjust.

    ~Fave line

  • I don't get why there is a dislike button. Why would you dislike a video, like why would you go to a video you hate? Thats just stupid-

    40 dislikes?

    -_-

    somethings fucked up here...

  • @MarleyXVI THIS reminds you of panda bear :O?

I could see you posting this comment on an Animal Collective video (for obvious reasons) But It's a stretch to say PB.

  • QUICK!!! No one look at the camera!

  • @beatlesrockbandfan the girl in the middle lost that game hahaha

  • sniff...

  • Children don't grow up. Our bodies get bigger, but our hearts get torn up.

  • wake up ...and starts Vertigo...

  • I watched this because of the grammy they won, I was mad at first because I really like lady gaga, but you know what. this is really good too!

  • My band and I did a cover of this! Please check it out!

  • to all who hit dislike button: ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

  • In case anyone is interested, I think the best audio and video version of this song is Arcade Fire - Wake Up (at Glastonbury 2007) | Part 9 of 9. Dont know why it has so few views compared to the others so I'm trying to spread the word. :)

  • they were playing in the capital of the state in a festival called cervantino... wich is awsome u should go one year! So much fun, so much music, party... so much cultural events!

  • L.i.a.b. ;.c(

  • @elision8 When Are they going to Mexico cause I'll be going there next month!!!

  • @chagOwwuUUu well they played about a week ago but they will be in guanajuato! may be next week! jaja sorry!

  • @elision8 damn that sucks for me. Guanajuato as in the capital of the state or the state? If state, then in which city will they be palying??

Hope its in the capital, I went there a few years back, very beautiful place, and European. People are really nice there.

  • FUCKING

  • AWESOME

  • SONG

  • If you like this, get a hold of The Sophtware Slump, Grandaddy's best album. Magnificent. Arcade Fire is ok, but too noisy in my opinion. Their melodies would be taste better without the noise...

  • <3.

  • @ultimatekai - know exactly how you feel

  • la escucho y la escucho, no superficialmente nada hay bonito, pero le rebuscas y encuentras mucho, sobre todo porque me hace pensar mucho en TI!!!!, siento que estas tu en esta cancion

  • White Shirt Glasses- Richard Reed Parry. White Shirt Black Hair- Tim Kingsbury. Behind Richard-Jeremy Gara. Next to him-Regine Chassagne. Black/Blond Girl- Sarah Neufeld. Black Hair with Hat- Win Butler. Last Guy Next to Richard and Sarah- William Butler

  • "Before they turn the summer into dust".

This line chokes me up the most. Summer used to mean so much to me as a kid. Summer was this magical time where all the kids could play and do whatever they wanted. Now that I'm an adult, summer means nothing to me. It's just a season. I miss being a kid so much.

  • This song makes me think of when i was a kid, When i was so innocent and didn't realize what a fucked up word we're living in. Well now i grew up and learned the hard way.

  • @Rocketgirl624 Shut your god damn fucking shitty ass woman mouth, you fucking piece of shit ass fucking munching carpet stain god damn fucking assfucker!

  • @nubcorn even if youre joking, fuck you man

  • @nubcorn- what is going on with you? why are you so angry? why would you say something so mean to someone being sincere? i feel bad for you. you probably have zero healthy relationships in your life. get some therapy and stop being mean for no reason.

  • @nubcorn

Bad form ole boy. Bad form.

  • @Rocketgirl624 The world is harsh, but I think that's to hide the beauty. Make it so that only those who truly want to experience it and are willing to put an effort into seeing the worlds beauty, will find it. Really, there is beauty in everything. you just need to allow yourself to see it. Open your mind to magic, rather then looking at EVERYTHING with logic or doubt. Go on a tiny adventure. even if it's to the same park you've been to many times, Just go and try to see it as more.

  • @chukmaty leave

  • @SkiGuy1996 lol, you gaiyz mad? Too easy :D

  • @chukmaty youre a fuckin idiot

  • beautiful feeling.....

  • @MrPain Fuck you

  • I have to agree! Lyrics are really good!

  • Theme to where the wild things are!!

  • For some reason I really don't like this band...

They lack something, it just doesn't grab me.

  • @JPGallagher09 thats the great thing about them...they sound so simple but theyre so lyrically complex...its amazing

  • @ThePompousBitch: ikr!! Pure emotions!!! I just love this song 2 death... Lol I like ur nickname... Funni

  • Pure emotion.

  • i ♥ this songg!! =DD

  • what is wrong with these people on youtube! everyone is such a heartless asshole! its like they think the anonymity gives them a ticket to hate & bash & harass how ever they please.

  • @glitterfish82 People are too scared in real life to say anything, so this is really their only way to say how they truly feel. It's quite sad really.

  • @TravisVsWorld thank you!

  • @TravisVsWorld yeah its true

  • @glitterfish82 it's not just youtube

the whole world's gone to shit

it's as if racism is acceptable, sexism is acceptable, and all the other retarded things that fuck people's lives up. :./

  • @ohdanglindsy And calling things retarded is acceptable?

  • @dlp2012 And calling people things is acceptable?

  • @ohdanglindsy you forgot about "as if killing is acceptable"

  • @glitterfish82 ur right

  • @glitterfish82 it's called trolling, usually practiced by people that are extremely desperate for a hug or something.

  • @glitterfish82

    c'mon it's a kids game out here isn't it !

    Lighten Up

  • @glitterfish82 It does give us a ticket to hate & bash & harass how ever we please. Muhahahahahaha

    *bashbash*

  • @glitterfish82, lol, you seriously think that isn't something that's gone on to FAR more barbaric levels in the past? We have plenty to complain about (one look at my channel and facebook page iwll see thats what I do basically). But we are living in times where we don't get strung up, gutted, and get our heads put on pikes for not believing in Jesus or Thor or whoever. So I say that's pretty cool. I can deal with idiots on the internet, idiots won't go away until we enter transhumanism

  • @hoboboxerjoe There will always, even in a posthuman scenario, be people who see things differently. What needs to develop is tolerance--respect for other people's ideas and interpretations of events and phenomena where incomplete information is available (which is always). That doesn't require advanced technology, though it can certainly help us all to see precisely how much we all have in common and thus encourage and enhance empathy and sympathy.

  • @hoboboxerjoe Also, transhumanism isn't a rapture. A "singularity" of sorts, sure, but science and technology don't advance in discrete steps--we're already "sliding" into it, like an exponential gravity well. We won't all see a flash of light and boom--we're posthuman. We'll continue to have piecewise evolutions in medicine, robotics, infotech, nanotech, and accelerating social change all the while. Eventually, more change will occur every hour than in all prior human history.

  • its a kool song i thought it came out in where the wild things are...

  • love this band

  • this is the thoughts of a troubled youth and how we all feel sarrow but we can all find happiness. thats what i think -_-@@@@@

  • damn man, i'm 17 years old, i'm gonna be able to vote after my birthday

this song still chokes me the hell up :'(

  • wow ur so stupid MrPain331 bitch ass tard

  • @MrPain331 just shutup you obviously have no feelings for any of us here.

  • thank you

  • @Roronoa79 yep.

  • @Roronoa79 I sure hope your a girl then

  • the song seems to be about the pain of separation from what we are and what it means to be "grown up"

at least in the end he was happy just to be himself. for better or worse.

    beautiful song

    =,)

  • waouw this song is amazing !

  • it's so stupid how people are telling us what the song means!! you're not the people who wrote it so how would you know?!

  • @puppyluv4896 amen

  • this song is basicly saying when kids are small they get hurt really easily and dont know what to do. then when they get older they can understand more things. its a really cute song.

  • i completely disagree! the song & the book are trying to convey the complete opposite! i respect your opinion but the song is a pleading of desperation for every child who braved the trenches knowing exactly what to do & having to accept that one day they would grow into dull adults who finally understand it all because they have adapted

  • MrPain331- my son was kidnapped. talk bull? seriously? what is your problem? u leave nasty little msgs everywhere w/ no point & no one seems to agree. notice? mind your own business. you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • ABSOLUTELY

  • @eos312 an insightful interperetation

    well done. definitly not spam.

  • The part were he sys If the children don't grow up,

our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up. We're just a million little god's causin rain storms turnin' every good thing to rust.

Reminds me when Michael Jackson said about why childrin should have a childhood otherwise thay would become courrupt adults.

  • ya noe-- my mom didnt understand were the wild things are. She was over complicating things. that makes me think how many other adults didnt understand the movie. and or if littler kids understood what was happening.

  • question is, did u?

  • yesh i did

  • ur post seriously made me wanna cry! let me appologise for all us stupid parents! i was born in 82 & my generation is kinda the lost boys generation-most of our parents were burned out hippies or corporate slugs. we raised ourselves:on angst & a collective embrace of every outcast group that had come before us. we had no cause or wealth to fight for so we just stayed kids. i had a hard time watching this with my 7yr old son. when i was his age, the book was like our anthem.

  • i didnt know that napoleon dynamite was in a band

  • @ieatgoodpizza

    Haha yeah true

  • this song gives me hope

  • you are awesome. i totally agree.

  • wheree the wild thingsss are<3

  • it makes me wanna cry and laugh and scream and everything in between

  • this is such an amazing song. i heard it on a commercial...can anyone give my background info on them? they're amazing.

  • well i dont know much about them but... its a couple guys, maybe more. they play instruments (mostly), and sometimes they play them together to make things sound better, not always though. they are influenced by other music (not all of them though), and like to write. for the most part

  • hilarious.

  • ha sorry i wish i knew more about them too. i just discovered these guys yesterday though so you probably know more than me

  • pahahah i only discovered them 2 days ago.

    so not exactly.

  • wake up me

  • this'd make a perfect skate song

  • your'e right.should be used instead of the phoenix song

  • I fucking love this song, I get goosebumps everytime I listen to it.

  • so good. they need to come out with a new album asap.

  • if you look at the guy with glasses he kinda looks like napolean dynamite

  • This picture would be better if he had a "Vote for Pedro on his shirt," or perhaps just a liger.

  • is that a picture of the band members

  • Such a beautiful song!

It does not get more indie than this!

  • reminds me of SWANS.....

I'm thinking, it could be one of their influence...

  • is that Trevor from WKUK in the top right?

  • can you guess who looks like napolean dynamite?

  • Oooh...thats a tough one

  • Dude. I had never heard of Arcade Fire, then one of my friends wrote it as his status on facebook and I searched it, listened to it, loved it.

I used to get really annoyed at my fav bands suddenly becoming known and mainstream - but now I realise it's a good thing :) How else would I hear such great music?

  • awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude spike jones make the vid for the invisible board for the skate company girl's skate vid
