  • I love the ending.

And I love how you, in course of the story, fall in love with Mr. Thornton just as Margret does :)

  • The ending was perfect and so romantic and the way Mr. Thornton was staring at her at the station i loved it

  • She is pretty. What is her name??

  • they would have the prettiest babies!!!

  • MR THORTON I LOVE YOU

  • OH those lips!!!...can I have some more please..LOL

  • I'm in love with this movie!!! But what does thornton say at the end???

  • @loislovebeauty I think the last words we here him say are 'You're coming home with me?' and then she gives him her bag, and there is no need for words.

  • @loislovebeauty "Are you coming home with me?" that's what he s'ays at the end. If that man had said that to me....well I wont freak you out with the details. :)

  • its amazing that few are even caring that henry is hurt.. hahaha poor thing

  • @letthebeholderpass i think people do care, it just that she wasnt right for him. he is hurt now, but think of the injustice she would have done him is she married him but was in love with another. He will find someone who will love his that way he deserves to me loved.

  • It's just... the way he looks at her.

  • This scene is a perfect demonstration of the power of non-verbal communication. Thornton is very good at expressing his feelings without talking and understanding Margararet's feelings, even though verbally she is saying completely unrelated things. And that kiss, a perfect example of non-verbal communication obviously! We need more of this sort of communication in this world :)

  • Finally!! I actually have nail marks in the palm of my hands. Absolutely perfect <3

  • it's kinda funny, but if you watch the people going past, they're the same people....

  • God this is amazing the chemistry between these actors works perfectly. An amazing programe

  • I have fallen in love with this movie. And also has my favorite actor in it :) Richard Armitage They have come close to the novel an they couldn't have pick any other people to play the parts.

  • I'm estatic that the sun finally came out and they both smiled at the end!

  • UUUUGGGHH WHAT A SEXY MAN!!! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE. I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH OF IT. LOOOOOOOOVEEE THE STORY AND THE BOOK WASAW

  • The ending is so beautiful.... But, seriously i shouldn't be watching this romantic stuff. Reality is much harsh. Where do you find a man like Mr.Thornton?

  • This is going to be my favourite story after Jane Eyre.

  • Mr Rochester or Mr Thornton? idk

  • Am I the only one that thinks his voice is utterly sexy??

  • @angelloverforever no every woman on the face of the earth thinks the same thing.

  • @angelloverforever not only the voice!!

  • I am so sad its over! It is such a lovely adaptation of the book. Thank you for posting it!

  • Thank you so much! its sooo beautiful xx

  • He is amazing..no words..what a stare..

  • I love the ending it's just perfect. I'm all smiley hehe :)

  • @paola609 everything about him was perfect!! I wish he was MY true love!!

  • I love Mr. Thornton! Did anyone notice how he doesn't take his eyes off of her at all??

I liked the ending, bur for me just the holding hands would have been perfect! ....

  • OMG, I just died at the ending...I'm a sucker for happy endings... :3

  • @123abc13579op I want to find someone like Richard Armitage, so he can be my true love and soul mate until the day I leave this world.

  • I think that the fact that they didn't kiss until the final part of the pinal episode, made it that more special. :) plus I'm smiling from ear to ear lol. That was so romantic. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS UP!! I was gunna watch on Netflix, but I like it on my phone lol.

  • RA needs to do more of this type of acting though I'd watch him in anything he does!

  • You can't get any more romantic then this ending. RA is FANTASTIC. I wish they hadn't cut to Henry when they were kissing though.

  • simply wonderful...

  • Wow didn't think anything could top pride and prejudice, this is right up there such a good movie.

  • One of the most beautiful and romantic scenes EVER. My heart skipped a beat when he smiled.

  • I love how despite his confidence in everything he is so insecure about wanting her and losing her...from the beginning he doubted his chance with her and time and time again even when he thought she was involved with someone else he couldn't stop loving her but act as if he was indifferent....at the end when he said "Your coming home with me?!" you could almost here the utter happiness and surprise of her choosing him ... I want one!!

  • How could she resist the open shirt, and a conveniently empty train compartment after he's kissed her like that!

  • I've never felt so deeply moved by male beauty... Richard Armitage is beyond words.

  • this was such a good movie!!!! Man they need to make more movies like these.

  • I could watch this last part over and over again. :)

  • Thornton: "I take it that 'gentleman' is a term that only describes a person in his relation to others; but when we speak of him as 'a man' we consider him not merely with regard to his fellow men, but in relation to himself - to life - to time - to eternity."

    North & South, Elizabeth Gaskell

PS I'm a bloke and yeah - real men do still exist

  • @maham21jan

I don't literally mean a prince, I just mean our solemates. Our solemates today are our "prince charmings."

  • I literally cried as I watched the kissing scene... after all that pain, finally the love :)

  • Can we all just take a moment and sympathize with poor Henry Lennox, who is watching the girl he wanted for himself kissing another guy.

  • 2:03 oh god, how he looks at her sent hot shivers down my body

  • @123abc13579op r they really?? Just lye Richard armitage aka mr thorton???

  • oh, the way he is looking at her is awesome, full of love, you know. so beautiful... <3

  • I just stumbled upon this miniseries and stayed up til 3am watching it!! Amazing!! Thank you so much for posting it! I really wish we'd gotten to see some of their conversation after they left together in the train - I'd love to hear them discuss the development of their feelings for each other! I just ordered the book and can't wait to indulge more in these great characters:)

  • The book has a different ending, equally romantic, which also could have been done well by these actors.

I do LOVE watching Richard Armitage! He's not just gifted with good looks. He's also an excellent actor. I can hardly wait to see him in The Hobbitt.

  • @MamaEuny What's the ending in the book? What's the ending in the book? This movie is so delicious --- I can't imagine ending any better. Please share!

  • @HappyBelly10 There is a lot to explain because the setting is all different. Perhaps you should check it out from your local library, or you can read it online.

  • @HappyBelly10 "Take care. If you do not speak, I shall claim you as my own in some strange presumptuous way..send me away at once, if I must go--Margaret!" At that third call she turned her face, still covered with her hands, towards him, and laid it on his shoulder, hiding it even there, and it was too deliciouos to feel her soft cheek against his, for him to wish to see either deep blushes or loving eyes He clasped her close..She murmured in a broken voice, "Mr, T., I am not good enough!"

  • @bestowbeauty7 Wow, thanks for writing this all out. It sound really romantic. I have to go pick up the book. I've watched the North and South Ending about 10 times now. :)

  • @HappyBelly10 I've watched it more than that! It's the most romantic ending and kiss I have ever seen. I have to watch it at least once a day.

  • @HappyBelly10 Again, stepping nearer, he besought her with another tremulous call upon her name. "Margaret!" Still lower went the head, more closely hidden was the face, almost resting on the table before her. He came close to her. He knelt by her side, to bring his face to a level with her ear, and whispered, panted out the words...

  • @HappyBelly10 While she sought for this paper, her very heart pulse was arrested by the tone in which Mr. Thornton spoke. His voice was hoarse, and trembling with tender passion, as he said, "Margaret!" For an instant she looked up, and then sought to veil her lunimous eyes by dropping her forehead on her hands.

  • @HappyBelly10 (The end)..."Not good enough! Don't mock my own feelings of unworthiness." He gently disentangled her hands from her face, and laid her arms as they had once before been placed to protect him from the rioters. "Do you remember, love?" he murmured. "And how I requited you with my insolence the next day?" "I remember how wrongly I spoke to you, that is all." "I have something to show you!" She slowly faced him, glowing with beautiful shame. "Do you know these roses?" Now to the book!

  • The way he looks at her drives me crazy. Then the way he kisses her with just the right amount of assertiveness and gentleness. I WANT THAT MAN!!! Richard Armitage is AMAZING!!

  • I love this ending!! I've got to stop watching these types of movies!!! I really want a Mr. Thornton or any of these "prince charmings"!!! Hopefully we will all find ours one day because they are all out there!

  • @123abc13579op

Sorry to burst your bubble but men like that only exist in books and films 8-[

  • No it IS the best ending ever!!!!

  • I got all warm when I saw this!!! I have watched Jane Eyre 2006 and Pride and Prejudice for a 100000 times but this ending (for now because I just watched it ;P ) strikes all other endings I've ever watched! the best couple ever!! did anyone notice how beautifully he picks up the flower??! X)

  • They so did NOT need to flash over to Henry mid-kiss. What, are they trying to turn people off? I'm not about to feel sorry for him.

  • Man.... I can't believe how many times over the last year that I have watched this movie since I found it existed! I haven't become tired of it yet. I just wish this actor was the hero in more movies like this. He is really very good at the solemn, heart felt, eyes intense acting. I always hate when the final scene is finished. But then I start it all over again a month or so later. They did very well in making this movie and in the casting. Although I feel sorry for Henry. He's nice.

  • how brightly she looks in this scene, so beautiful :X

  • Men of the 21st Century in every part of the universe....TAKE NOTES!!!!!!

  • John Thornton = my new hero

  • beautiful! tender!

  • every lady in here thanks you with all her heart that u have the all the vids. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

  • Oh I love that!!! “You’re coming home with me” **melt** <3

@bellarose521 Hahahaha I am completely with you on that one. Watching and reading all these romance novels have set the bar very high for every man out in the real world!

  • can i come home with you? lol im the most happiest person ever right now I just love happy endings:D <3

  • 0:47 his smile<3 he is so in love with her awwwwwweeeeeeee:)

  • I just cried my eyes out...

  • Talk about suffering before your ending, bloody hell!

  • okay, so I'm watching this in my dorm trying to keep quite so I won't wake up my roommate and the rest of the girls on my floor (it's currently 4:39am)......yeah, that was a major fail if anything :)

  • though i must admit, i don't think she is a very good actor. in the last frame, when she's looking out the window, she looks like "oh ho hum. just another day on a train." she should have looked like "OH MY GOSH I JUST KISSED HIS HOT, SEXY FACE...not only that, but he loves me and i love him and i'm on the train going to milton so i can live with him forever and i can kiss his HOT, SEXY FACE EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE!" that's sure as heck how i would be.

  • @wastingmytimeonline Actually the expression on her face is of happiness and contentment. She's taking a breath (between kisses) to reflect on what just happened and how it all happened so fast. It's like she can't believe her good fortune , and the fact that it's a reality and not a dream is slowly sinking in.

  • i'm dying inside. this is the most beautiful thing ever.

  • There are some rare forms of male beauty that far surpasses female beauty, no matter how much people say that the fairer sex is...fairer. Thornton is one of those. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @marybarton2011 Many times while watching the series I would just pause the screen to stare at him! He is gorgeous.

  • @natcat17 Ditto!

  • @natcat17 I just love it when his mouth twitches and then he smiles....so effing gorgeous!

  • @marybarton2011 Thornton: "I take it that 'gentleman' is a term that only describes a person in his relation to others; but when we speak of him as 'a man' we consider him not merely with regard to his fellow men, but in relation to himself - to life - to time - to eternity."

    North & South, Elizabeth Gaskell

  • I love how he's staring at her while she's talking and talking about money and business. He's not even listening. I'm so enjoying this.

  • "i dont need henry to explain" hhhhh ...... LOVE IT

  • with AMAZING looks like YOURS MR.THORNTON , i indeed cant help falling IN LOVE with U..

  • I'd like to be kissed with such reverence.... sigh....

  • By chance I got this movie in 2005 and since then that's my favorite. Amazing actors-both of them sooo good. Last year I saw "Jane Eyre" with Ruth Willson and Toby Stephens which blew me away. But still North&South keep it's special place in my heart and Richard too ;))))

  • O.k. I tried to keep it in, but I just can't anymore. So, these last couple scenes are just like Pride and Prejudice. You know how Darcy comes looking for Elizabeth early in the foggy morning to ask for her hand in marriage. Well, in doing so, as accepting the proposal, she kisses his hand. Minusing the field, foggy morning, and epic love ending, this was still as good an ending as any. Plus, Thornton finally smiled, genuinely smiled in the movie. I'm so happy. I'm glad I watched this.

  • @princesslovelc True, but this series were made first, so technically P&P is like North and South, not the other way around....

  • @Eleonoor P & P was published in 1813, and N&S was finished in 1855. Though many adaptations of P&P have appeared on the screen, this is the only one of N&S of which I'm aware, made after most of the the P&P adaptations, except the '07 one.

  • This is, without doubt, THE best ending there could possibly be to a movie.

  • This scene is so AMAZING that I couldn't stop watching it over and over. I finally had to make myself stop watching it after seeing it for the 16th time in a row.....lol

  • The music couldn't be any more perfect!!!

  • WELL, WE KNEW THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN ALL ALONG....AMEN!!

  • Armitage isn't the only one who's tingling. Forget tingling; I'm TREMBLING!!! Everything about this ending scene was magical. His glances (My GOD!), her glances, the music, the cinematography. Beautiful all around.

Watch, rewind, repeat...over and over and over and over and.....

  • love it!!!

  • I'm soooo looking forward to the Hobbit!!!!

  • I'll go home with you

  • most beautiful thing i have ever watched.

  • THE perfect indication of "he really likes you" and/or "wants to have sex":

He (seems to) listen to you very carefully and has this special "moony" glance in his eyes!!!

    Hmmmh?

I am asking myself, what is John Thornton thinking in this case?!?

  • Read the book! Richard Armitage did.

  • swooooooooooooooooon!!! I'm in love....again!!!!

  • The Best Romantic Drama Ever. I wish there was a sequel :(. Love Mr. Thornton. Richard Armitage did an amazing job. I like Richard Armitage but I love love love love Mr. Thornton.

  • This is the most beautiful music I have heard

  • The look in his eyes at the very end is like "Now you're all mine". Sooo sweet.

  • I feel sorry for the people who disliked this clip.. indeed !!!

  • christ if i keep watching these i will never find a man... thornton, darcy, rochester, mr knightly, etc etc KILL ME

  • Comment removed

  • @bellarose521 I'm so glad you said this because well I fear I may never find a man because of the fictional characters like mr. thornton, darcy, and mr knightley. They might be more when I keep reading of great men in works of fiction.

  • @bellarose521 I hear ya sister, every time I watch these movies my standards go up a little more.

Guys- take notes, these are real men (Mr. Thornton, Darcy, Rochester, and Mr. Knightly)!

    ;)

  • @bellarose521 I know right? Cuz then we'll start expecting to find gentlemen...

  • @bellarose521 same here. I've watched all of them over and over. I've been single for always. I only like imaginary men like them, ha-no wonder I'll never have a boyfriend.

  • Oh gosh, this last scene just makes me sooo happy for Margaret- finally, she gets some happiness, after all this tragedy. And finally, Mr. Thornton gets the woman of his dreams :)

  • This scene is worth the whole four painstaking hours! (It's not like I didn't enjoy every minute of it!) :) Amazing ending!

  • wow...they finally get to talk, just the two of them(: throughout the movie, there was always something or someone to interrupt them

  • I am in love with this movie. Richard Armitage is sooo hot! When he was looking at her like that... i felt like i was going to melt! So much for my love for Mr. Darcy... Why hello there, Mr. Thornton :D

  • Soooo many good things about this scene! The way his voice cracks when he says "you have to look hard." The way she gazes at him before she starts telling him about 'business. The tenderness of his looks when they're sitting on the bench.

And that kiss! Oh! So smooth and tender! What great actors to bring it off!

  • OF COURSE she´s going home with you, you oh so sexy charming and seductive fool!!

omg I´ve heard people talking about this Richard Armitage from Robin Hood, but I´ve never understood what the big deal was until I saw this!!! Crap...seems like I´ve gotten meself yet another obsession

  • I love how she can barely look him in the eye because of the way he us looking at her and then kisses his hand. Swoon!

  • Her eyes are so beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • Mr Thornton marries me :)

  • Simply love it! I can see it over and over and never get tired of watching. A wonderful, moving story with an ever present backgroung. Wonderful actors, the whole crew of them. Congratulations and thank you for posting it!

  • OK, seriously. I blame one thing and one thing only for my procrastination tonight, and that's the replay button on this video.

  • The sweetest ending to a movie.

  • henry sucks

  • Henry looks like a lost puppy dog.

  • I love his smile...it's as invaluable as Colin Firth's.

and when he says:You don't need Henry to explain.-you know what's next:).

and as he looks at her while she's explaining this "business matter"...all of this make me dance and sing:)

  • "Coming home with me?" Take me, John Thornton... I'm all yours!

  • @2:11 Margaret can't stand to look at Mr. Thornton's sexy eyes then she looks at her hands instead. I will be like her too.

  • So beautiful ... the tenderness in his eyes when he looks at her makes me melt.

  • *______________________*

  • I coud almoust swear, that his breath catches, when she kisses his hand.

That kiss is waaaayy sexier than any other kiss I have ever seen!

  • "You don't need Henry to explain." Dang right you don't.

  • I just cried like a baby.. Love you John Thornton (-:<3

  • I bet Henry is cursing that 10 minute stop.

  • Love this scene.. so touching! :')

  • "you're coming home with me?" :) soooo sweeeeeet!

    xx

  • Omg.. his smile makes me tingle.. His hand..

  • Henry: BURN! bahaha

John Thornton, OMG YOU ARE TOO HOT xD

  • This is my faviorit movie ending:)

    I just love periode movies:)

  • there is always that one guy who never gets the girl

  • Is it just me or does Mr. Thorton remind anyone of Mr. Darcy. Arrogant, rich, and madly in love with the woman that didn't want them, but eventually fell in love too.

  • It's more like "baby, you don't need henry..."

  • I think I've watched this at least a million times. At first I couldn't see what the fuss was about Richard Armitage. Now...that look, that voice!

  • soooooooooooo cute!!!

  • Every time I watch this movie I love it more...love the ending fave line "you coming home with me" YES!!! :)

  • love it, love it, love it. But I still don't totally understand why it's okay to kiss him in the train station, but not ok for her to be seen with another man in a train station earlier in the film...

  • @lights1885 Maybe because they didn't really kiss on a train station... :) The last scene in the book takes place at Edith's house (you can find it on the 'online-literature' website if you like :) ).

However, they made this scene so declicious with the best kiss ever, one really cannot begrudge the change. :D

  • @sushimamba Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that was in the book. And I certainly won't deny that the scene is incredible. Just a little inconsistent :)

  • @lights1885 that was because there was no chaperone plus it was late at night and you got to admitt that they were acting suspicious
