  • OOHHhhh! Ultimate LOVE TRIANGLE!!!!

  • LOL @ "Slash subtext". I bet you write fan fiction too.

  • Benny looks like an 30 year old teen

  • Great job. Love the song.

    Kenny Nash

    youtube Kenny Nash "DESIRE"

  • Wow...I just got chills watching this video. I was almost in tears! (in a nestalgic way)

Nice editing. It would have been to risque in the 80s to elude to any sort of gay undertones but in todays day and age it really works!

  • I like that movie and the song is fuckin great!!! good video =)

  • James Spader stole my haircut!

  • Love this song. Of all the versions, I love the one by Tommy Page more coz it suits my taste as a 90s kid. Love the movie too.

  • I loved this song and video so much I got my account just so I could like it <3 Great job!!!

  • This song is just too good!

  • Mr. Wizard, take me back to the 80's!

  • i love the this movie. and sixteen candles.

  • Memories!

  • This is amazing: what a wonderful - and fitting! - interpretation of Blane's and Steff's relationship. Spot-on!

  • i wish some one was able to find the actual video to this song !!!! i remember seeing it in the 80's !!! it was pretty amazing then !!! and yes im not afraid to say my age cuz of it !!! im 43 !!! lol !!! but yea, there is an actuall video to this song...

  • James Spader is a great actor, but his finest role was as Alan Shore going up against the US Supreme court and the Texas Supreme court on Boston Legal. For all the comedy and goofiness of that show, those two scenes send chills down my back everytime I watch them.

This is a very kool video you've put together; thanks for putting in the time. Wish I was back in the '80s.

  • @ksh480 Love this song and video!

  • i love it :)

  • I love it :)

  • @emiliajane71 They do sound similar and i actually heard Nik's first but because i use to listen to that soundtrack, over & over did i even know that. Danny Hutton Hitters version is speed up just a tiny bit. His voice is a little liter than Nik's. Either way it is a great song.;)

  • @emiliajane71 I KNOW THAT!!! That was NOT what was asked below,he is the original artist but not the artist that sings it on the Pretty in Pink Soundtrack.

  • This is NOT the person that sings this on the original soundtrack.......but this one is ok.

  • No, I think the conflict is one of class, not sexuality. Blaine likes Andy, despite his peer groups rejection of her. This was a big deal in the '80's, and is difficult to explain now--back then, Andy would have been a pariah so Blaine's interest was really radical.

  • Dr. Daniel Jackson would be appalled...

  • Stretch or not, this is excellent, thank you!

  • Do u know where i can find the version of this song from the movie?

  • @luviindream it is by Danny Hutton Hitters and you can find it on the soundtrack to Pretty in Pink..;)

  • @KARBELAEZ ok thankyou! :D

  • Wouldn't it be good to be on your side

The grass is always greener over there

Wouldn't it be good if we could leave with out a care?

  • Really good. I love it.

  • silk robe and boxer shorts, The signature look for drug dealers swimming in it. James Spader should have Worn that more in "Less than Zero".

  • Pretty white rich people have it SO HARD!

  • Excellent video, paired with just the right film. (One of my 80's favorites.......Oh yeah....and so was James Spader. :))

  • Really nice vid

    R.I.P. John Hughes

  • Awesome job..one of my favorite videos on youtube :)

  • It was never as good as 'The Breakfast Club'

  • best bit is from 02.25 onwards

  • I wish I could find the Danny Hutton Hitters version of this song.

  • Bravo: Takes me back to a more innocent time, great job on the video!

  • :O wth happened to the solo! oh damn you people xD

  • Very Good Job, it, so 80,s brings back some great memories!

  • U did a really good job on this :)

  • Terrific!!!!!Thank you!!!

  • I love this mix. Great soundtrack! James Spader (Blaine) and Andrew McCarthy rock! Not too mention Molly Ringwald. We just don't have actors with their qualities/style anymore. Bring back the '80s!

  • Life and love is what you make it. You haven't lived your life if never fell in love, and life needs passion,to drive it. I've always love this song. Good song, great video! :)

  • Nik Kershaw - Legend! :D

  • This is a great song!

  • I wish someone would post the Danny Hutton Hitters version. Anyone have it?

  • Yes, it's on You Tube.

  • duckie always seemed more hotter to me the blane.

    blane is lame

    lmfao.

  • This was my favorite song from the soundtrack. I just love the lyrics to it!

  • James was soooo sexy! Like I loveee him!

  • Yeah...So, so, so, hott! I love him in the "Secretary"! Effin seXXXy!!

  • NO, Andrew McCarthy is smokin' hotter! I love him soooo much 20 years ago.

  • James Spader was so HOT!!! I mean I love Andrew McCartney too. But man... I can't get over James.

  • lovely song and lovely james spader

  • The version in the movie is by Danny Hutton Hitters. I think it is the best version....

  • why wasn't nik on soundtrack - it was some unknown cover band.

  • This version is not on the soundtrack, and it sucks

  • SEXY!!! Spader and McCarthy were such hot 80's yuppies...This song is wonderful too!! Great job man.

  • I actually think this has more to do with the love triangle between West Virginia Football fan - Rich Rodriguez and the University of Michigan.

  • Stupidest comment ever.

  • THIS WAS AWESOME

  • yeah, i quite agree with u Fayzabeam!! but in real life, havent you noticed that these two cuties were always together in their respective movies - well, most of them...hmmm..oh! please dont get me wrong - i both love them to bits!!!

  • omgg this is awesomeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh hoo, I like the way you think, fellow slasher! Steff has no right to be so hot.

  • What a great song, I get butterflies in my stomack!! And I like both guys - they are different, but still quite alike!! Are they real life friends?

  • One of the first videos I watched on YouTube and I still keep coming back to it. Definitely in my top 5. The song, Andrew, James - love it!

  • Interesting idea! They do make a nice looking couple. I like the song.

  • I like the version in the movie better (the song I mean) - its one of my favorite songs of the 80s. When I was a little girl I used to watch this movie almost everyday.

  • Pure genius. I have never laughed so much in my life, the bit during the sax solo is just inspired.. Kudos to those responsible.

  • Andrew McCarthy?? Hottest guy of the 80s!

  • james spader baby

  • It was a great movie! If you like this check Less than zero...

  • i absolutely love this, its fabulous.

    Andrew McCartney is soo cute.

    And well....James Spader , fit as <3

  • Really well done and very creative!!!

  • Blaine and Steff?! . . . Hmmm. How about Blaine and Ducky, instead? Interesting how you use the original Nick Kershaw version of "Wouldn't it be Good?" instead of the Houton Hitters version off the soundtrack. Both have their merits. Thanks!

  • Just think... James Spader was really 26 at the time of this movie! How could he look so young (and hot)?!

  • I've started slashing everything lately, its like an addiction or something, so i'm loving that someone else saw the *oh so obvious* chemistry =o)

  • Did Nik Kershaw song got played on the film?

  • yes!

  • Thanks

  • you're welcome

  • No, it did not, and its not on the soundtrack either. I love both versions of this song to bits. The lyrics are sad (wouldn't it be good if we could wish ourselves away).

  • Hey, thanks!!! Man am I that old??? It was nice thinking back when I was 16.

  • oh, this was clever. You really should edit the slash for all mainstream film, ha.

That scene, such a KISS HIM! moment.

  • Thanks very much - I'm really glad you're enjoying my videos :) Couldn't agree more about THAT scene ;)

  • I love slash and James Spader, so this is GREAT! :)

  • Thanks so much - I'm really glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Thank you! I'm automatically against Blane because of the Duckie thing. An okay character, but Duckie is like 10 times greater. The Steff and Blane thing was even in a fanfic (totally lame, but whatever) I wrote after seeing Pretty in Pink for the first time.

It really is a great idea, I'd say. Steff and Blane, Andie and Duckie. All are happy.

  • I completely agree - Steff and Blane are definitely meant to be :) I'd love to read your fanfic, if you'd let me - I'm contemplating writing one myself.

  • Of course, more readers is always nice. The ending on here sucks, because I put in the one that wouldn't step on as many toes. I'll message you the Steff and Blane ending, and the link to the fanfic since it won't let me post it here.

  • I totally agree with you, Andie should always have gone with Duckie - he was by far the best thing in PIP. Going to search for Duckie clips now :P

  • does ne1 ave danny hutton hitters version of this song dat was in pretty in pink?

  • That was really good! Hahaha I enjoy this. Thanks for the hard work of putting it together.

  • Thanks so much - I'm glad you enjoyed the video - I had a lot of fun putting it together :)

  • Lol If only this would of happened, and Duckie and Andie would be together.

  • Definitely ;) I always feel sorry for Duckie when I watch the film, and Blaine and Steff are meant to be ;)
