The very thing that made Locke beleive on the island was not shared with Jack and that made a difference. I understand that the writers wanted them to represent some opposition. the man of science, man of faith dynamic. however, it is hard to some of us, viewers, to accept that Locke wouldn't talk about 'the miracle'. Well, Lost was not perfect. But it was good enough to grab my attention. The rights are much bigger than the wrongs.

I'll hope for the true john lock too! There could be 2 other reasons for it: the new promo picture shows him as the messiah (in the last supper). The other theory: for about 2000jears the Israelis thought, john was Elias, and the most Jewish are still waiting for Elias as messiah.

I loved John Locke so much... Him and Benjamin Linus are the greatest tv characters EVER! You just knew from day one that he was going to be right. The writers were always going to let faith and magic prevail over science. I still have hope that he will somehow return. (I know it's unlikely) It's awesome to see Terry O'Quinn play Demon Locke now but it's not the same. I mean, wasn't it John Locke's body lying in the shadow of the statue? I still hope he'll save us all :)
