I suggest you "Black Republicans" research Nathan Bedford Forrest and all the other racist shit that has been said and done by Republicans over the last 10 years. Or you can keep drinking the kool-aid and believing that they wouldn't bring slavery back in a heartbeat if they could. LOL
You can do better than that, Pooter. Lincoln may have signed the EP, but today's Republican Party is 100 times removed from the Lincoln days. Try addressing the fact that racism is prevalent in today's Republican party instead of spouting off a predictable talking point.
But you're still not addressing the issue at hand. The "Obama The Magic Negro" CD being circulated by the southern bigot who wants to lead the RNC drives my point home. That's the mindset of the Republican party today, and if they're not careful, they're going to wind up being a permanent minority party in this country. America will be even more racially diverse four years from now, and the Republicans are NOT likely to change anytime soon. They're speeding head first into irrelevance.
The Democratic party/its predecessors have been around since the birth of our nation. It was nearly destroyed during the earlier years of reconstruction, but it never was. There is no doubt in my mind that the Republican party will disappear eventually. To take their place a more liberal party than the democrats will take office and the democrats will be labeled as the conservatives. Both parties will end up trying to "buy" african american votes, something the republicans (my party) have not.
However the 60s changed things, and all of the pro segregation people switched from Democrats to Republican. Between Nixon and Reagan Black people were totally alienated from the GOP.
The current GOP makes weak efforts to bring in Black people. Unless you count Michael Steele's "I got the fried chicken and potato salad" comment, which was embarrassing.
Until Black Republicans aren't seen as impotent by Black people, Black people won't vote Republican.

I'm a black conservative in Clearwater, FL. I realize that the Left is not my friend. They throw minorities(namely blacks) bones, to ensure votes, that's about it. These are the same blacks who piss away opportunities and then want to claim that they were ****ed over because of their skin color; I have zero respect for fellow blacks that do this.
Andrew Young was forthcoming about this oversight in his book An Easy Burden. Young wrote, "The southern segregationists were all Democrats, and it was black Republicans... who could effectively influence the appointment of federal judges in the South." Young noted that the best civil rights judges were Republicans appointed by President Dwight Eisenhower. Young admitted, "These judges are among the many unsung heroes of the civil rights movement."

dude, that was sarcasm. you'd know that if you understood the mcgovern comment. I think you are trying to shoot fire up someone ass who you agree with, only you don't get sarcasm, so you flame away.
No, I just don't think it's particularly funny that the Democratic leadership thinks they have the right, let alone the responsibility to save us from ourselves. It's this kind of snide bullshit that makes people think that it's somehow uncool to support a long shot who happens to actually align with their views. I'm sick of assholes trying to look cool at the expense of our democracy. It's NOT funny. Just like sarcasm about the Holocaust isn't fucking funny. Go eat a bag of dicks.
Both Giuliani and McCain are outstanding men who hold nearly identical positions on Bush's successful war in Iraq, however, perhaps voters judged that McCain has more "fire in the belly," more passion, when he speaks about future engagements with the enemy which our nation might have to undertake if we are ever to be liberated from the Muslim threat.
30 years in the army. with more postings than i wish to recount. i'll tell you a few highlights, and as i don't feel required to present a resume' i'll be concise and will provide no details. during my career i've served in vietnam. also i served with nato, at the pentagon and my last posting before retirement was with southern command. now you tell me your credentials.
Began Gulf war, then 6 and a half years at CENTCOM, served in Germany, Balkans and five Middle Eastern counties (Iraq, Afghanistan of course), have seen combat and still enjoy part of a round in my shoulder. As well as 2 years at the Pentagon. I'm still an analyst. And now a civilian job, no secret spy stuff but still I won't say what. You'll certainly understand. So yeah I know "the enemy"
Not exactly an opinion from code pink. Wasn't talking to you anyway.
you weren't talking to me? my mistake. sorry. it showed up on my email. and naturally sense it was under my last posting i thought i would respond. and i agree no opinion from code pink in those credentials. my question then is, do you perceive a threat from the radical Islams? your response to luannpovvie would suggest otherwise.
Radical Islam a threat? Have you ever read about the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. We need a non-intervention based foreign policy. We need to stop policing the world and expect positive outcomes and credibility. You served with NATO? NATO is a relic of the Cold War, a hold-over from another time, an anachronism. It should be disbanded, the sooner the better.
codepink001: your opinion is noted, considered, and rejected. you should learn the history of islamic jihadism. this movement didn't just spring up overnight. it festered and grew over a period of 60 years. to be concise and at the risk of over simplification, its primary goal is to create a worldwide caliphate. as to nato being a relic.. that just shows your ignorance.
There's always a radical element in almost all religions. They have to have an incentive. We give them that incentive. The Iraq war has become a successful recruitment incentive for Jihadists worldwide. Now were funding the war through China and NATO has been turned into an aggressive unconstitutional interventionist military force. When the Soviet Union ceased to exist NATO should have followed.
if radical islamic jihadist can't find an incentive they'll make one up. they would attack the west regardless of rhyme or reason. and if you think NATO is moot i suggest you speak to the baltic states and poland about growing interferences from a resurgent russia. ask those balkan states if nato was unnecessary to bring stability to the region. nato is far more relevant than you think.
I would point out NATO's disaster in the Balkans. No peace had been attained, merely the cessation of hostilities and a permanent dependency on US foreign aid. The world's better without such a thing. I suppose we're going to have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.
geargemartin said, "...its primary goal is to create a worldwide caliphate." Can you cite a reference to this goal? I have read Bin Laden's Fatwa statement of 1996, and the letter from al-Zawahiri to al-Zarqawi dated October 11, 2005. Both address expelling the crusaders from Islamic land, or the Land of the Two Holy Places...not the world. There is no mention of creating a world Caliphate. I agree they are a threat to Muslim countries, but not specifically to western held land. Please elaborate
bothal qaeda and hiz butt tahrir have both stated that their goal is to unite all 1.1 billion muslims into a single world wide caliphate. this area would encompass an area from sub-sahara africa to the balkins across the middle east, central Asia, the indian sub-continent, indonesia, malaysia, and the philippines. google jihad watch.
How can you honestly believe that anyone can be a threat to this country, where we spend $2 billion dollars daily on the greatest military in the world?
Well, if you are worried about american casualties in the "war on muslims", then you should ask whether the US is safer today than in the year 2001. Whether your borders are secure and the kind of attack 9/11 was could not happen today.
And people who want a statesman instead of a dictator voted for [ ]. Hey, wait a minute. I was sure I typed [ ]'s name in there.Stop the media blackout on Ron_Paul. There, it finally worked.
Why does Florida have the right to determine if it's a two, three, or four man race? Aren't we the United States? Have we looked at all the other states who have voted to see what their first and second choices were? Can we wait till more states decide before jumping off the cliff?
Ron Paul has an ass-load of cash, tons of grassroots supporters yet Edwards is still considered a candidate and Paul is not...why do i even watch you guys? I might as well watch Fox or CNN.
Clearly, zbrunch, this video was shot before Edwards dropped out. (After all, the "road trip" started today.)
Your use of the epithet "retard" is inappropriate & immature, though, which I guess makes you just plain stupid (or, worse than that, invincibly ignorant).
you're right, it was inappropriate and immature.i just get fed up with the same old crap from the media. i don't know why i have come to expect more from "independent" sources like Veracifier here. I just hoped that since Paul(and Huckabee)have not quit the race and have a visible base of support that at least they would get equal time in the debates and a mention when listing the remaining candidates.
Go ahead and say top-tier or whatever, just don't lie and say there are only 2 GOP guys left.
Ron Paul hasn't got a monkey's chance on Mars of winning the election. I, too, would like to hear about the candidates with real convictions and a real message, but Paul's not a serious contender since he's barely getting double digits in the primaries at his highest level of support. Edwards gets screentime because he was a candidate for vice last time (and, probably, this time as well). At least they still let Paul in the debates; Gravel has been kept out since October, and gets 0 news time.
That reading is not an interpretation of my comment, it's pure spin. This particular report isn't about the validity of candidates' opinions, it's about the mathematics of their chances for victory, and Ron Paul's mathematical chances are negligible. I like listening to him speak, especially at the debates, and i think he and Gravel are the only genuine candidates left. That said, the math's not in their favour, and it's not entirely the MSM's fault people don't vote for genuine candidates.
Both Gravel and Paul have extremist viewpoints, and, for better or worse (though, i'm leaning toward 'worse'), the average american voter wants someone who's slightly left of center on spending issues, and slightly right of center on social issues; Paul is far right on both and Gravel is far left. Even though anyone who's well-informed with half a brain is for one of them, that doesn't describe the greater public. The MSM gives people what they want, and what they want is the illusion of change.
Well, I don't agree with the term "extremist", as you can't possibly put a constitutionalist to the political right. Today's American politics stray far from the right/left distinction. It's more of a global/domestic politics.
Regarding Mr. Paul, independent media should focus on all the candidates able to take a few percent of the frontrunner's count. If Romney lives through Tuesday, Paul and Huckabee could decide the race in the end.
With this type of approach you have placed Ronald Reagan in the far-left extremist position. His views on personal liberty, foreign policy, and economics favor Ron Paul's views. I have been a staunch viewer of the MSM for several years, before I knew of Ron Paul, and the treatment they have given him is typical manipulation of the masses to their agenda. The only reason Paul has been marginalized is because of his anti-war stance. Nothing more, nothing less.

we're still not safe. but we're safer. we do lack proper border security and that does bother me.

geargemartin...You say we're safer. Please go explore ronpaul2008(dot)com. That is SAFEST!

Black Republican in NY. Is that good enough?
Interminablespirt 4 years ago
I'm afraid you'll have to ask other Republicans if that makes you good enough.

Really witty. I was speaking about proximity, not worth. Don't be a jackass.

And people who want a statesman instead of a dictator voted for [ ]. Hey, wait a minute. I was sure I typed [ ]'s name in there.Stop the media blackout on Ron_Paul. There, it finally worked.
alnewberry 4 years ago
Ron Paul. Everything is fine. Are we trying to use the "dictator" scare tactic line?
chris7777777777777 4 years ago
I was kidding with the brackets, by the way. The fact that I actually typed his name whould have given that away. Get a sense of humor.
alnewberry 4 years ago
well, they did mention that McCain and Romney won both first and second choices, which kinda makes it a two man race...
CallMeNiel 4 years ago
Why does Florida have the right to determine if it's a two, three, or four man race? Aren't we the United States? Have we looked at all the other states who have voted to see what their first and second choices were? Can we wait till more states decide before jumping off the cliff?

Earth to retard--Edwards dropped out.
Ron Paul has an ass-load of cash, tons of grassroots supporters yet Edwards is still considered a candidate and Paul is not...why do i even watch you guys? I might as well watch Fox or CNN.
Unsubscribing now.
zbrunch 4 years ago
Clearly, zbrunch, this video was shot before Edwards dropped out. (After all, the "road trip" started today.)
Your use of the epithet "retard" is inappropriate & immature, though, which I guess makes you just plain stupid (or, worse than that, invincibly ignorant).
brawnymike 4 years ago
you're right, it was inappropriate and immature.i just get fed up with the same old crap from the media. i don't know why i have come to expect more from "independent" sources like Veracifier here. I just hoped that since Paul(and Huckabee)have not quit the race and have a visible base of support that at least they would get equal time in the debates and a mention when listing the remaining candidates.
Go ahead and say top-tier or whatever, just don't lie and say there are only 2 GOP guys left.
zbrunch 4 years ago
Ron Paul hasn't got a monkey's chance on Mars of winning the election. I, too, would like to hear about the candidates with real convictions and a real message, but Paul's not a serious contender since he's barely getting double digits in the primaries at his highest level of support. Edwards gets screentime because he was a candidate for vice last time (and, probably, this time as well). At least they still let Paul in the debates; Gravel has been kept out since October, and gets 0 news time.
DamNationDiplomat 4 years ago
But ron paul is the only candidate who votes in favor of the constitution.
jased30 4 years ago
If I read your comment correctly... all you've manage to say is this:
"Only those who receive main stream media airtime have valid opinions?"
mfyyre 4 years ago
That reading is not an interpretation of my comment, it's pure spin. This particular report isn't about the validity of candidates' opinions, it's about the mathematics of their chances for victory, and Ron Paul's mathematical chances are negligible. I like listening to him speak, especially at the debates, and i think he and Gravel are the only genuine candidates left. That said, the math's not in their favour, and it's not entirely the MSM's fault people don't vote for genuine candidates.
DamNationDiplomat 4 years ago
wtf are you talking about, a huge majority of it is the MSM's fault.
Ithaxa 4 years ago
Both Gravel and Paul have extremist viewpoints, and, for better or worse (though, i'm leaning toward 'worse'), the average american voter wants someone who's slightly left of center on spending issues, and slightly right of center on social issues; Paul is far right on both and Gravel is far left. Even though anyone who's well-informed with half a brain is for one of them, that doesn't describe the greater public. The MSM gives people what they want, and what they want is the illusion of change.
DamNationDiplomat 4 years ago
Well, I don't agree with the term "extremist", as you can't possibly put a constitutionalist to the political right. Today's American politics stray far from the right/left distinction. It's more of a global/domestic politics.
Regarding Mr. Paul, independent media should focus on all the candidates able to take a few percent of the frontrunner's count. If Romney lives through Tuesday, Paul and Huckabee could decide the race in the end.
In my opinion, let us hope so.
Polytical 4 years ago
With this type of approach you have placed Ronald Reagan in the far-left extremist position. His views on personal liberty, foreign policy, and economics favor Ron Paul's views. I have been a staunch viewer of the MSM for several years, before I knew of Ron Paul, and the treatment they have given him is typical manipulation of the masses to their agenda. The only reason Paul has been marginalized is because of his anti-war stance. Nothing more, nothing less.
