"The Central Bank of Iraq has announced their plans to redenominate the Iraqi Dinar to ease cash transactions. By the end of 2010, they intend to drop three zeros from the nominal value of bank notes. It should be noted that the actual value of the dinar will remain unchanged. That means that 1,000 IQD (pre-redenomination) and 1 dinar (post-redenomination) will both be worth the same amount in US Dollars." XE.com

What will you do if they change their currency like they have done before with old sadam notes? Is there a way to exchange the "new" dinars if this happens and how?
@pep1player You'll likely have to go back through one of us dinar dealers unless you find a bank that'll do it. Otherwise it's best to invest in a fund rather than cash so you don't have to worry about it.
So how much did you invest? I could see all the people investing alot trying to discourage other from buying it? Did you ever buy any,if so were you actually ripped off?
I dont see why someone wouldnt be able to exchange them..before the invasion saddam wanted to switch to the euro and the US was oppose to it.I think with this US "influence" the Iraqis will stick with this currency or if they do switch it will be a long time from now.
If the dinar simply becomes worth one cent I will make a killing so to me if you waste $10 dollars to make $117 dollars it is a know brainer at the end of the day purchasing power is key
@peanutscoins A psychic told me she gets lots of people asking about the dinar. Its a long ways off and its only going to be a bit over 1 like 2.2 with taxes less than 1.
sounds good marshall, had no idea the iraqi stock mkt is doing so well. i purchased my dinars (over 2million worth) back in 2004 just after it came online as the new currency. i was a govt contractor at the time in kuwait and on pay days i would make special trips downtown to the exchanges and make my purchases....keep the updates comin. joe in col springs sends his best!
