  • Another fine job! I love it! I mix 80/20 beef, breakfast sausage, red onions, red and yellow peppers, mild banana rings, crushed garlic, crushed red pepper flakes and brown sugar in my patties. I serve them on kaiser rolls with lettuce, tomato, horseradish and mayo. Sometimes with just plain old ketchup and mustard. It's got a little bite and a little sweet. Thanks for another great video!

  • This video inspired me to BBQ...And this was the first thing i ever BBQ'd!

    It was good ass hell!!!! then i made the beer broats this guy made in another video....alls i want to do is BBQ now!!!

    Last week i did the same italian burger...but i melted mazzerella cheese on the paty..theni used basil leaves like you would use lettus....then i added a think ass cold slice of tomato...and my buddie just cooked up some bacon and slaped it on....AMAZING.... i love the pit boys

  • Actually the grocery store by my house sells flattened sasuage, very similar to how you would buy ground beef. Man what a great idea, imagine combining this recipe with the cheese stuffed burgers. Cheese stuffed sasuages, I see I am going to have to get a smaller grate for my grill because the grates would have the pepers to fall through.

  • could you use the italian sausage without the casing? it can be bought just ground like beef, would it be the same thing?

  • I'm from Italy and I usually make "sausage burgers" by simply splitting a big sausage in half and grilling it that way, then putting it in an long roll (hot dog style). But this other way surely is worth a shot...

    Another good use for the "tasty ground pork" from inside Italian sausages is to "boost" the taste of a larger amount of ground beef, I use to do this when I make the ragù to fill my Lasagne. Even with 90% beef and 10% sausage you can feel it...it should also apply to hamburgers....

  • As reference to people who actually go out and BUY the food they cook, as opposed to someone who is affiliated with a Restaurant who uses what the restaurant purchased and never actually put forth any effort / money themself to optain the product - no concept of actual cost.

  • Actually no, you couldn't just buy hamburger and add spices because italian sausage is made out of PORK and not BEEF.

  • Actually, I said " Burger" and never said " Hamburger" that very well could be Pork-burger or whatever other meat one chooses. Furthermore, that meat needs to be mixed with spices prior to being stuffed into sausages so why buy the sausage if you can just get the meat and spice it up... it makes " No" sense to buy sausage only to rip them down.

  • You still wouldn't get the flavor of italian sausage because you don't just add spices to the meat and it's done. It all depends on the sausage. Some sausages need to be cured.

  • this Italian sausage is from a local butcher and is near perfection for taste and quality. Because of the quantities they make, it is cheaper to buy their Italian sausage links then buying their ground sausage and adding your own spices.
