Yep - only two TV channels to watch, having to look for a phone box whenever you needed to call someone, having to queue inside the bank whenever you wanted to draw out cash (if it was open), absolutely no nightlife after 10 p.m., having to do your shopping in half a dozen different shops - you would have loved it.
