...since the eagles are acting as a pair- they must have a juvenile eaglet near-by... juveniles just learning to fly sometimes quit too soon- they leave the nest... and unceremoniously crash-land...and stay on the ground...for a time- 'till their wings get strong enough to get 'em airborne. The parents will protect and feed 'em until the young eagles get up on their own...

Eagles were probably fending off the bear because it was getting to close to their nest. Close to where i work, we have a couple of herring gulls who make the exact maneuvers when we get too close. Uses close dives and loud noises to scare us off, like the eagles in the video.

Speed is a requirement when it comes to fights. In this case, a bear's reaction time is not fast enough to react a bald eagle's mach 10 speed. Learn something about a GOLDEN Eagle's talon. You'll be surprised by how scary it is. Don't assume shit just because an animal is bigger.

If golden eagles often die when they attack full size wolves (instead some people make them attack small wolves), what do you think is going to happen if it attacks a nearly full grown grizzly bear?? @reatonate1989 A mountain goat is roughly 300 pounds. If a golden eagle is strong enough to push one off a cliff, I have no doubt that the eagles would be strong enough to kill the bear in this video. Especially a puny bear like this one.
The key to the bird's success is the fact that it hits its query, then flies out of reach again, so the prey has little chance of hitting it. An impact from one of those birds flying at you hurts.

No, no they couldn't. That is ridiculous. Eagles kill things by using their talons so that the prey can't move. Even when eagles attack wolves as shown in some videos, they attack small wolves because big ones are too strong and dangerous. Big wolves weigh about 40kg, this bear looks about 200kg. It is near impossible for the eagle to kill it.

...since the eagles are acting as a pair- they must have a juvenile eaglet near-by... juveniles just learning to fly sometimes quit too soon- they leave the nest... and unceremoniously crash-land...and stay on the ground...for a time- 'till their wings get strong enough to get 'em airborne. The parents will protect and feed 'em until the young eagles get up on their own...

@Imbalina hmmm I disagree...eagles and hawks have excellent vision thus giving them an advantage over a bear or wolf regardless of size...hawks take out rattlesnakes and are able to get them in a small spot on top of the snakes head...however the bear will not take a risk unnecessarily... the eagles have a nest and are protecting the eyasses (young) and will stoop like that which is very menacing....bald eagles were doing the same to people at a post office in Alaska recently

Eagles were probably fending off the bear because it was getting to close to their nest. Close to where i work, we have a couple of herring gulls who make the exact maneuvers when we get too close. Uses close dives and loud noises to scare us off, like the eagles in the video.
