I have come to NOT like Bill Mahr. He says that Christians are mentally ill. There are a whole lot of or us mentally ill people walking this earth. I certainly hope Mr. Mahr finds Christ. I will pray for him.
He did not go to the pro's because he wanted to point out that the Christianity of the professional theologians has no resemblance to the Christianity of the person on the street. You are correct in saying that this comedy was mean spirited but his point was valid. He should have at least pointed out that these poor deluded souls are at peace with their maker.
I agree with infinityseeker1993. People should be able to defend their own beliefs, not rely on a professional religious debater to do so on their behalf. But that's the problem the faith heads they rely on other people to do their thinking for them.
Yet another great video. Keep up the good work. At the end of Religulous, Bill Maher said "Religion must die in order for mankind to live." This may be an extreme example but Maher sounded like Hitler there. I'm not sure if he is quite as bad but it does make me wonder what he would do if he had dictatorial powers. The same with Dawkins.
0:30 I've got a sense of humour. Later on makes an eleven minute video treating zombie Jesus remarks as serious critiques of Christianity and any person who uses them as mindless, despicable idiots who only want attention just for repeating a joke.
Plus Borat was an intelligently funny movie and creationists only deserve ridicule especially those who poison the minds of the young with unscientific nonsense.
Yeah I agree the right wing christians are nuts, the creationists war on science also pisses me of and turning me away from christianity, there willfull ignorence to science!
there is only 1 GOD the Creator and Christ was his son sent so we may know the Creator and he may know his creation. don't spend your time worrying about that spend your time being a light so that other may see in their darkness.
@jehovahistheonlytrue -- If we were to go by the WT teachings we would also believe that the 2nd coming of Christ was 1877, 1879,1888,1914,1915,1925,1975,1980, on and on...Seek Christ and be saved!
I know many people who serve the community. Just as many Christians as Pagans and Occultists. You seem to conviently leave that out or just not recognise that fact. Video response comeing probably this weekend depending on what I need to do for school.
@Mysticblue1212 He didnt avoid that topic at all. He's simply providing the alternate point of view from the one's provided by people in your mind set, that christians do nothing for society. That is what he was addressing. Quit being so bitter about it.
@Mysticblue1212 There's actually nothing in Religulous about the pagan and occult communities anyway (at least as far as I can recall). Doesn't come up on the radar. The primary focus of mockery, by far, is the Christian faith. I'm actually adding more thoughts on Religulous in a new video I'm working on as well.
@Shazoolo You are right he didn't mention them in Religulous itself but Bill is well known for making fun of people for having any sort of belief. He has ALWAYS stated that. He only target the Judio Christian faiths in the movies because they are the majority. Although Bill feels that way about ALL beliefs including mine, I still believe he has got some good points that people should at least think about before following something or someone so blindly.
@Mysticblue1212 Oh right, I could well imagine it. Being in the UK though I'm not overly familiar with him. Much of what I know of him is based on what I have seen on the actual film Religulous. I could imagine he does mock other spiritualities though, and I most certainly would disagree with that as well. Although people disagree I don't think mockery of faiths is good at all, in fact I think it's heading somewhere sinister (see my next video to be uploaded where Maher gets further mention).
@jehovahistheonlytrue Because I'm not asking Shazoolo. I'm asking you, a professed JW, why you're here watching apostate content when I've provided evidence of the Governing Body telling you not to in their own words. I've provided my proof, now you provide yours that says you can watch apostate content with the WT's approval. I'm waiting.
Again, you're attempting to obfuscate. It doesn't work on me. Provide your evidence.
Bill Maher has carved out a comfortable little money making nitche for himself. He has a following and so he makes money. Its always about the money. The love of money is the root of all evil. Of course, when making a film like this he will make sure it makes him look good...and so he picks on the common folks and avoids the Christian scholers like the plague.
@jehovahistheonlytrue You've never answered why you're here watching apostate content when I've provided evidence of the Governing Body telling you not to in their own words. Touched a "verve?" Learn to spell. You're obfuscating and it isn't going to work with me. I've provided my proof, now you provide yours that says you can watch apostate content with the WT's approval. I'm waiting.
05.30 or so - Wow: you believe the vast majority of Xtians cannot distinguish between *real* Xtianity and charlatanism? That cuts the total of *true believers* down to a very small number then, doesn't it? Especially when taken on a historical scale, vast swaths of humanity are by necessity sliced away to burn in *false* belief, eh? 06.00 - Back to *fruit*, eh? 08.36 - Abolition as a 'good from Xtianity'?!? Not. Plenty of endorsement of slavery in the Bible, as you well know.
@jehovahistheonlytrue Hmm, don't really see you making any videos at least attempting to deal with Religulous. Have you even watched this Bill Maher film throughout? By the way, you sound like a troll with the sarcastic snide and bitter way you deliver your comments. I see you are a JW as well. Figures. You people are amongst some of the most bitter individuals about. Must be all the false prophecies making the organization an absolute laughing stock to all.
@shazoolo You think they're being "set up" to persecute religious ppl. I think you're right. They're being taught to hate God in college as well as other grade schools at that. The end of this system of things has to get here sooner or later. It definitely seems like it is now. By "now" I mean about 50 yrs. Intellectual foolishness will keep most from turning back to God and seeking him. As it is, truth be spoken and Jehovah's Will be done.
Religulous was only so so, more of a mock. I found it interesting, but in no way profound. And, yes, agreed, there was a decided thread of propaganda.
He's asking silly questions that don't really have answers in the film, so i understand where you're coming from. But it seems too plastic in it, i mean I know its a mockumentary but it didn't seem real, so I wouldn't assume realism from it at all.
if you have no answers, and cant even explain your own "supposed" beliefs. then why do you even believe this crap in the first place?
all apologists and theology is the same, complete BS.
you can find 20 different apologists giving hundreds of different answers contradicting each other, yet they all have their own groups of followers.
each christian knows that he is right and there all the rest arent true christians.
you guys need to grow up, join reality. fairy tales are for kids
