I'm good at purging unnecessary items but finding a certain place for items is the hardest part for me as well. You hit it on the head. What about miscellaneous items that wouldn't fill a box alone? That's a big issue. Leftovers. Like suede shoe kit, and spare shower curtain rings, etc. I suppose thats what the basement is for. :)
