about the pickups, if your using a strat you can use the second to last setting going towards the back without any distortion and it doesnt sound all that bad

Great stuff. I had learned the intro somewhat before, but was too lazy to learn the actual Jimi-licks from tabs. This one helped a lot. BTW, I think Jimi was using the "in-between" setting" with his pick-ups (mid pu+neck-pu). Actually I'm quite shure of this one :) Thanks alot!

you're making the hendrix lick walk down way to hard on yourself..........you don't have to play it with open E string.... you can play it starting on the first finger on the B string on 3rd fret, then 5th fret on the high e fir your basic shape.......otherwise great video.......
