I was personally disappointed they got rid of Lupus-born Garou and Metis. And I kind of miss the old rich cultural roots of the original which played with different spiritualities.
but to run something like Dark Ages then you know what your getting and going to be running, which means a game without Wendigo or Uktena. So therefore the point is moot (excuse the pun)
As far as the new rules like forsaken or the vampire equivelant i will not get them.
To me it seems that White Wolf sold they where going to of the old rules and decided that instead of making new stuff they would just churn out a new version to milk money out of the hard of thinking!
for someone who loved the old rules you seem a little narrowminded in the idea of the tribes beings in various places. Get of Fenris or Black Furies.. or anything else being in New York is hardly a problem since America prides itself in its intake of every culture.
Silent Striders are Egyptian, so what are they doing outside Eygpt?..Easy...they're messengers!
The only difficult ones might be Uktena & Wendigo in Britain and that can be worked round by sending pups for Rite of Passage.
@malarky321 it isnt me being narrowminded but the strangeness of the games background in assigning Tribes to locations. Were told all the tribes were all around in ancient times but they appear to have all wandered off to seperate parts of the world around the time of the start of history. Its fine for a modern game but anything before that can cause issues or outright ban certain tribes as playable.
Men! I remember those times as my best. Playing role playing games around a circle table with candles and eating pizza. Banality coming all over christ sake...Take care o yerself bud.
@johnrayordas This book is an "extension" of the old world of darkness game Werewolf the Apocalypse. I don't own this new one, but I can certainly tell you that Werewolf the Apocalypse is one of the top three most bloody brilliant roleplaying games I have ever played. The other 2 being Mage the Ascension and Vampire the Masquerade. (In no particular order) Please enjoy your intellectually engaging PCs games, and leave us role-players to our ol' dumb books. Trust me, we love them.<3
Hu, I really liked the way the ethnic basis of the tribes. There are people of all sorts of ethnicities in the US, so putting tribes here isn't a problem. That was great. Silent Striders were kicked out of Egypt, so they aren't there anymore.
I started with OWOD over 16 years ago. I love the game system. Werewolf wasn't my favorite of the games, it is too close to D&D with crinos. Of the main WOD games, I like Mage, Wraith, Vampire, Werewolf in that order (changeling, demon, mummy & hunter-orange book really don't appeal to me, although mortal games are great). I've played a lot of NWOD & do not like it nearly as much, think it is an okay game but that the older versions of the games were better.
yes get rocks. I like to see a Review of Apocalypse to =0) i like the new book not as epic as Apocalypse. But one thing i don´t like is the pure vs forsaken
The Get will perish dude. Too often the Get run suicide missions. Their numbers fall faster than they rise. Any Get member who lives to a goodly age is worth twice a Fianna I'll admit. Too bad there's less than a quarter the number that Fianna can offer.
As a group of roleplayers, we have made a pack of 11, with our story teller not included in the pack. We mashed up werewolf apocalypse, and werewolf and forsaken together. It went ok for some time until you go indepth into stories and gifts etc
3:55 You know? I never understood that complaint you mention. Personally, I like games that only require you to have the corebook in order to play. That's one of the reasons I liked the old WOD games. I had the main three games, plus Wraith and Demon, and I never felt the rules chapter to be dead weight.

@YaoiHuntressEarth WTA is much better executed, and all around makes more sense to me in terms of setting and lore.

the new forsaken is most realistic and the system is better...

I prefer old world of darkness over the new one.

Preach it brother, preach it. No one in those books are half as bad ass as the Get of Fenris.
WolBarret 2 years ago
@WolBarret Fianna rocked harder!!! Boozing and brawling. Get of Fenris were good, but they lacked the humour.
psychedashell 2 years ago
I respect the Fianna, but the Get will lead the Garou through the Apocalypse and defeat the Wyrm in its home.

@psychedashell
Better to fall in battle against the Wyrm then cuddled in a bed waiting for the Wyrm to strike.
We spend too much time playing WtA.
WolBarret 2 years ago
Bed? I donnae go tae bed laddie, ye find me passed out on the street or sleeping where the battle ended!
You're totally right. We do spend way too much time playing WtA.
Ragabash?
psychedashell 2 years ago
If I described myself, I'd be a Ragabash Silent Strider with a Shadow Lord mentality.
WolBarret 2 years ago
Fianna Ragabash. Fighter, drinker and would be womanizer...if females didn't intimidate me so bad. I'm a hopeless case.
