  • @TaintedDrifter there are some extraterrstial cat like races in our galaxy...but no need to be disguised..they re 5th dimensional beings...our low vibrations keep us from being able to see beings like that...and they have no business with us earthlings... if thats what you mean..i dont know.. :P

  • It's so sad how we forget quickly, at hasn't been so long that this song was fresh as a flower in the charts and hearts. Search people, don't eat up just whatever is presented.

    unchartedrevelations.blogspot.com/2012/01/cat-people-captured.html

    Unbelievable?!

  • What version is this? sounds like studio, but the Let's Dance album version is...different.

  • Never really been into David Bowie but after the Inglourious scene where they play this music...uhhh goosebumps!

  • @darkmanddk Scary man, isn't he, LMAO

  • I remember as a kid, listening to the soundtrack to Cat People on an LP that my father owned, great stuff, freaked me out big time haha

  • @MajickMike It should freak you out, your Dad listened. Modern day vampires "Twilight" "Trueblood" "Queen of the damned" is based on this. Gave modern writers the idea?

  • one of his best tracks...

  • I'm just here because I wanted to hear the song. What other reason is there really?

  • ...I could listen for a thousand years...

  • @LieberSimon good wun.

  • I'm here for Moroder. Bowie aint half bad :)

  • I'm here because i love david bowie, I haven't seen any of these movies you people speak of. not a single one. although i do WANT to see inglorious basterds. I haven't yet, though.

  • @MrBackdoorman88 Good movie, actually. I was a bit surprised? Inglorious Basterds I mean? Fictional, yet , well given those who made the movie? Good stuff it is.

  • Inglorious Bastards? I'm here because of "The Girl Who Played with Fire".

  • @Cogs I'm here because of both, and because it's an awesome song! Heard it in Inglourious, then recently read TGWPWF.. I flipped when I read that part!! Hope they use it in the movie.

  • i'm here because of the cat people

  • Basterds brings me here!

  • Great fucking song. Inglorious Bastards, fantastic movie.

  • perfect blend of voice and musical score...

  • @beanfromex11

    hell yea

  • Giorgio Moroder wrote the music.

  • Thankyou Bowie for teaching us the wonderful effect of cat people, God bless the Sirians.

  • It´s very great song!

  • This version lush with the textures of infamous Georgio Moroder is far better than his Lets Dance album version despite the addition of Stevie Ray Vaughn's firey guitar in the latter. IMHO

  • I heard this in the movie "cat people" first... And I prefer it in that film. I like Inglorious bastard but in my opinion this song is used in a better way in movie of the 1982.

  • his eyes are actually both the same color, just one is always slightly dilated due to an injury( he got punched in the face =/ )

  • @TheWitchofCoos

Over a girl.......they didn't publicise that bit too much in the 70s

  • See those eye's of blue & green, he can stare for a thousand years.

  • I'm gonna be a hipster tool now, but I really liked this song BEFORE watching inglorious basterds. That movie really did not do it justice. O.o

  • @LadyFrail Yes it did.

  • @LadyFrail

I liked this song when it came out, but not because I'm a hipster tool. I'm just old......and once was a hipster tool. LOL

  • Love the video... great pics of him! So Sexy.

  • *Growls* I LOVE THIS SONG!! Bowie will always rock!!

  • I wanted to fuck that girl from Cat People so bad!

  • @valorra65 YES! 1945

  • @anotherholeiny..blabla - CAT PEOPLE

  • @ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD Let's Dance.

  • @ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD

It was the title song of the 1982 film Cat people. In 1983, Bowie re-recorded the song for his album Let's Dance.

  • @MrLouie333 Although I am David Bowie fan, I dont really like this song much. I think Danzigs version is 10 times better.

  • post this comment up if you aren´t here because brad pitt and tarantino´s inglorious basterds!

  • @kjsh987 I wish all the thumbs up whores on youtube would die.

  • Comment removed

  • @MsStwiggie Yes, and?

  • @superunt43 and nothing, except I'm glad I saw and removed the comment,it was irrelevant so thanks for replying. The song is extremely potent and as powerful today as it was when it was released, timeless

  • @kjsh987 Arn't you special, "I'm better than these people who heard it in Inglorious Bastards because I heard it on the radio." Who really cares where they heard it first? Is that supposed to mean something? I'm pretty sure only losers with no accomplishments in real life would be proud of hearing a song first from a specific source.... it may just be my opinion

  • Comment removed

  • @kjsh987 I'm here because of Cat People. I Didn't know it was in there.

  • @kjsh987 What's wrong in being here after the movie? I found it there and now I like this awesome song.

  • Sexy beast of a man

  • I like this song a lot :) I'm still learning what the lyrics mean though x(

  • ...."Gasoline"....masterpiece....!!!!

  • Yet another reason to hate Inglorious Bastards I guess ... that movie didn't deserve this song.

  • @Graviton1066 how is that?

  • @Graviton1066 It's a matter of opinion, but you're wrong. Inglorious Basterds was amazing.

  • Khajits are cat people

  • Bowie + Moroder = european coktail !!

  • I love that part, when fuckin'-badass Shosanna puts on her make-up and get ready to the premire. She's so awesome!

  • with gaaaaaaaaaaaaasooooooooline

  • Bowie is king! 5:22-5:54 is absolutely magnificent !!!

  • Iglorious bastards!!

  • love the song, love the pics that go with it,, thanks! made this bowie fanatic very happy!

  • How many renditions of this song are there, anyway?

  • @spoildn8410 Mainly, this film version composed by Giorgo Moroder and a re-recording with Stevie Ray Vaughn that appeared on the Let's Dance album. Some other edits and remixes exist, too, of course. The lyrics are by Bowie.

  • David Bowie is the asterisk beside every statement of my heterosexuality.

  • A True masterpiece.

  • The Office episode "Cafe Disco" sent me here.

  • i like this song since 1982 ,i m 42 old now :)))

  • Putting out fires with Vasoline?

  • @Rollie1961 Vasoline keeps Bowie looking young.

  • @Rollie1961 Gasoline. xD Gasoline.

  • putting out fire with penis

  • @bllaake haha what?

  • I liked Bowie before but didn't really pay that much attention. This song grabbed me by the balls and threw me against the wall. Thank you inglorious basterds musical director!

  • After many years,I've come to the conclusion that David Bowie is the coolest man on the planet.

  • I love it love it love it! Thank you Quentin!

  • Cat People the movie is kind of so so especially when compared to the original 1942 version, but you can't go wrong with David Bowie or this song. It's also fitting for Tarantino's film. Granted it fits better in Cat People (when it's written specifically for that film it has to be) but he made it work. It is a bit odd that some people only seem to draw reference to that though as opposed to the original source these days. I guess it's because it's modern, but still.

  • Lisbeth Salander sent me here x)

  • AWESOME

  • Cat people run, run like the wind. Cat people screw, screw like the wind

  • Au revoir, Shoshana!

  • Bowie is great, such a prolific artist. This track's use in Inglorious Basterds is what sealed the deal for me on that film. Tarantino knows how to pick the most perfect musical accompaniment.

  • putting out a fire with VASOLINE

    Wait. What?

  • @DoktorAlanGrant gasoline

  • Tarantino is a prick for putting this in Basterds, it has no relevance whatsoever.

  • @TheDensley7 the hatred between jews and nazi could be described as a fire, and remember the french girl extinguished that "fire" in her own world by burning them alive. so "Puttin out fire with gasoline" is quite relevant my dear friend as a metaphor. cheers

  • @MakisDprenCio Fuck me, you have a lot of spare time. Good points, but it's still anachronistic.

  • @MakisDprenCio Also, I doubt Tarantino thinks that deeply.

  • @TheDensley7 Bad point.

  • @BendikBS Not really - he's a fanboy idiot now. I can imagine him going: " yeah Cat People, um um, Paul Schrader, um um let's stick it in the movie". He's been off his game for about 12 years now.

  • @TheDensley7 "Putting out a fire with gasoline" Sure it is.

    Besides,

    1. A soundtracks are chosen for the tone and mood they create, the lyrics are secondary

    and

    2. Tarantino isn't the one who makes the fucking soundtrack. Neither did he make the costumes, special effects, camera angles, and.... Get ready, this may shock you....

The characters in the movie were played by a number of different actors, and were not just Tarantino in various disguises.

  • @tehUBERn00blet You do realise this song is from Cat People don't you? Another example of Tarantino using things from other people in a kind of referential wank-fest. You are one sarcastic cunt. Fuck off.

  • @TheDensley7 Yes, and I do not see how that in any way refutes my point.

Tarantino using things from other people.... Using songs by other people for the soundtrack....

What the fuck? I've NEVER EVER heard of a director that personally composed all the songs for their movie's soundtrack. ALL SOUNDTRACKS USE THINGS FROM OTHER PEOPLE.

  • @tehUBERn00blet I can't talk to you, you're obviously a moron.

  • @tehUBERn00blet Clearly you've never heard of John Carpenter.
