This version lush with the textures of infamous Georgio Moroder is far better than his Lets Dance album version despite the addition of Stevie Ray Vaughn's firey guitar in the latter. IMHO

@spoildn8410 Mainly, this film version composed by Giorgo Moroder and a re-recording with Stevie Ray Vaughn that appeared on the Let's Dance album. Some other edits and remixes exist, too, of course. The lyrics are by Bowie.
I liked Bowie before but didn't really pay that much attention. This song grabbed me by the balls and threw me against the wall. Thank you inglorious basterds musical director!

Bowie is great, such a prolific artist. This track's use in Inglorious Basterds is what sealed the deal for me on that film. Tarantino knows how to pick the most perfect musical accompaniment.
@TheDensley7 the hatred between jews and nazi could be described as a fire, and remember the french girl extinguished that "fire" in her own world by burning them alive. so "Puttin out fire with gasoline" is quite relevant my dear friend as a metaphor. cheers
