  • Linux (no matter which distribution) kicks ass....music track rules! Thanks a mill man

  • GREAT VID!

  • Linux Stickers Here

google -> redbubble rob brown stickers

  • Now dat looks................. Wat system configuration do v need to run des efx. B'coz i hv used basic wibble efct using Liv Ubuntu CD with only 512 mb of RAM.

  • AWESOME !!

  • AWESOME !!

  • hey mpoltav2 that's not music. I really was interested in the instruction but had to turn it off the sound track is so distracting, at least if you have an artistic ear ~

  • Super music theme, the best

  • @LiEnucksFAlLS What a coincidence! Obviously your channel fails too. Now let's be best friends for life and ride our rainbow coloured unicorns into lollipop land. :D

  • @EdgyRootStudios My channel no fail. You fail. LiEnucks fail :D

  • @EdgyRootStudios This guy is all over the place, I keep seeing his name.

  • @LiEnucksFAlLS NO! it DOESN'T its teh same thing as windows and mac combined

  • lienucks fails!

  • @xyz98741 "xyz98741 has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of our community guidellines" - omgz it's an e-gangster! Freeze, nobody gets hurt! haha

  • @xyz98741 such a failure that ever website runs on linux... haha spaz

  • @Ez0rus learn to spell :D

  • @LiEnucksFAlLS learn to troll :P

  • @xyz98741 Actually, WiFi cards do work out of the box now better than ever.

  • @xyz98741 You're pathetic dude. Learn how to spell "Linux" before you start mouthing off for no reason you prick

  • @xyz98741 lol? your funny dude. I have never had linux crash on me, while windows has crashed many many times. Just thinking of the BSOD scares me. 1% market share? lets say that is true for a moment. Who cares?N o software? Maybe not in the default repositories but look around. If you need a windows program, start up Wine, many things work perfectly. WiFi and pretty much any other hardware I've tried works fine out of the box. Maybe you just aren't smart enough for linux.

  • lo unico q yo pido para mi maquina es q siempre ande a full rendimiento ok

  • how do you make the fire go away

  • OpeSource Power!!

  • Isnt This a Bit Laggy? :)

did u made it on a Small laptop or whut? :D

Linux is way too powerful anyway :D

  • I love the penguin.

  • love it one of the best.

  • now i want ubuntu :(

i probably wont be able to use it

  • @UnwashedGoblin you dont use it. you play with it

  • Nice slide show.

  • hey im new to linux and i just want to know how to install things

  • Love the song.

  • Terrible bad song of your video.

  • dude you forgot to read at the end of the video lol

    music: 360Joynt - status quo

  • can beryl be used with linux mint? beryl is just a fusion for the desktop, right?

i am very new to linux and i am sorry if i asked a stupid question. thanks

  • No questions are stupid, if you ask me. ;-) Try using compiz-fusion with Mint. It is probably pre-installed and you only have to install the compiz-settings-manager.

  • @suza89zuza you must use compiz fusion. And yes Linux mint can use it =]

  • dude nice song and Ubuntu for life

  • the song sucks

  • how do u get beryl or them effects? i have desktop effects on full and using ubuntu karmic (9.10)

  • @KHMadMan

beryl doesn't exist anymore, it's known as compiz.

go to terminal and write ccsm and then copy the line in the middle of the code you was recieved :)

  • what do u mean with terminal? i dont have linux but im thinking about to download it

  • @sarimavired

its like command but 100 times better xP

  • @KHMadMan Use Compiz Fusion. It's a lot better

  • who is this artist? is it nujabes?

  • what is the name of the song?? i llke it

  • does ubuntu update its version when the new one comes out

ex. if i download version 9.04 now will it update to 9.10 when it comes out later

  • of course not!

  • What's with the jungle bunny shit music?

  • What's with the failing to be funny comment?

  • Nothing funny; or failure to be. -- Some of you guys absolutely insist on boring people shitless with crap music instead of, say, quality narration. --- That's o.k. --People like me who find some of this music offensive simply turn off and watch something else.

  • Yet you feel the need to go to these videos and comment? Interesting..

  • Na, I found it, heard 2 bars & pissed it off fast. --- All it deserves! --- Learn not to be so offensive.

  • You got the nerve to come on here and spout your bullshit and then tell me to not be offensive? Fuck off, kid!

  • wtf i love the music

  • Agreed....Same here.

  • @EdgyRootStudios hahaha u know today they say that you got freedom of speech but you get killed anyway, like the danish cartoonist. Sad, now you cant even have you own music in your own video...

  • @beastdrome Not quite sure what you mean by that.

  • @EdgyRootStudios sorry i cant speak english well, all i mean is that you cannot even put your own music into your own video without getting mocked.

  • it just sucks ....that's what he meant.

  • Wow, looks like MS just took many of these neat effects and included them in Windows 7!

The cube feature is very similar to what I imagined MS was going to do with the promised "3D" effects that were supposed to be in Vista/7. Instead, all we got was the lame "flip 3D", which I have NEVER used in practice to this day. Alt+Tab still does the job well! :P

My balls tell me to switch to Ubuntu, but alas, I am a gamer, and thus the shackles of Windows will remain on me for years to come. :(

  • That's why I'm using a dual-boot system: Linux for working and Windows for gaming. ;-)

  • WINE. Look it up! Not suggesting you get drunk, though that is always fun...

  • what is the name of the song?

  • looks nice and all but i stay with windows xp / windows 7 stuff putted on xp :P

i mean vista sucks to me...

i had such many problems with games on vista that i came back on windows xp...

vista sucks but thats my op[inion ^^

  • well .. if u have already understood that vista and w7 sucks, than u will have to switch to ubuntu. it will take u a bit time to get into it, but after a couple of weeks and a bit of brainwok, u will apprechiate the new OS and be able to even run ur favourite games on it.

  • @samus989:

Ubuntu 32-bit can handle somewhere from 3-4 gbs of ram

With ubuntu 64-bit there's no REAL limit the limit is just defined by your motherboard's capabilities.

  • With a PAE enabled kernel and processor, you can access up to 64 gigabytes of physical memory.

This is with a 32 bit kernel and userspace programs.

  • I was reading and watched a video somewhere that you can unlock up to 64 gigs of RAM on some 32 bit distros. I'm sure I read this on one of the sites, I think it may have been Mint 7 Gloria edition or the forum... somewhere. It just takes some tweaking

  • 128GB is the limit for 64-bit afaik

  • Nope. It is 2^64 bits, which is 7.2 billion gigabytes or 16.8 million terabytes or 16 exabytes.

But current desktop motherboards support 4 slots of RAM, where you can put 8 Gb modules, but BIOS won't yet support that amount (only in servers)

  • How much RAM can Ubuntu identify? Can I run games like Crysis and WoW? If so, does it run them better than Windows?

  • nope. you need to emulate windows with WINE

and i tried cs 1.6, and it was "unplayable crap" lol

  • I'm Running GW on ubuntu right now still got some graphic problem but it run better then in windows for the same machine, but require little more processor. Still better then running windows >.>. Cumputer: Dell GX280 1Gb Ram P4 3.2Ghz Ati Radeo HD 3450

  • these games might not even be compatible with linux!

  • not well, it is hard to run any game on it, you would be better off just waiting for windows 7 or if you have xp, just stay with it. Vista is the only OS that is going to noticeably worse

  • I can play every game with wine, the only one that i cant is Gothic3.. maybe you people do somthing wrong :-)

  • every game that runs on windows, does also run on ubuntu. U name the game, i proof it if wanted.

  • Actually, i think crysis drops 1/2 fps on ubuntu, but then, if u don't play that kind of games ubuntu is a very good SO, It has no sense to compare it with windows, windows is a commercial SO, to people who are not interested in how micro$oft works. Ubuntu is free, windows not, all programs in ubuntu with one line u can install it, in windows u have to pay. in windows, if u don't have antivirus, in 20 days maybe ur PC is completely virused, in ubuntu not.

    SO stop comparing each other

  • With ubuntu u will 2x your fps but maybe u cant get it to work. U need use Wine and mutch more plaa plaa.. Linux is not for playing :<

  • were you using xvidcap? I can't get it to work at all. Runs at 100% cpu with little to no frames recorded. what the deal?

  • Terrible bad choice on video's music.

  • I should have chosen Poison, because they are a really good band. ;-) lol

  • Them and this both suck.

  • Yeah, nothing beats the Scatman...

  • you shut your fucking mouth.wigger

  • How cute - a little e-gangster! What are you going to to? Get your e-thugs ready for an e-driveby shooting? hahahaha

You do realize that there are cartoons about people like you, right?

  • LoL, great answer.^_^

But just ignore him, such people should be below notice...

    @mogul1265

There are better ways of expressing one's opinion.

I mean I don't like the background music, but I just turn of the sound. (no offense meant EdgyRootStudios)

There are people who like such music and you should respect their opinion and not just say: "That sucks" and other stuff like that.

  • @Zerkezhi: Just having a little fun here, hehe. The best about this "music debate" is that I don't even listen to rap music that much. I'm more into metal/punkrock. "Wigger"...lol xD

  • mmm e-thug thats you with this fucking cheesy ass music. Shut your fucking mouth.

  • Aww, that's all you can come up with? No spark of creativity? I am disappointed in you. Fail troll fails.

  • E-thug, fail troll fails....wow your a regular fucking internet insult treasure trove, whats your next trick? a trip back to 2004 where you tell me to die in a fire? Is this the creativity you speak of? :P just razzing you. I use youtube comments to vent when i have a bad day, you understand. xD cool vid

  • Now that was the fire I was asking for! :-) Nah, it's all good, man! we both got our fair share, take care!

  • the songs ownz

  • Excellent!!!!

  • Music is awful, absolutely awful. Complainy bitchy I'm-miserable-and-it's-the-world's-fault. Pathetic.

  • is it compatable with nvidia 9800gtx+?

  • Is what? If you mean linux then yes of course it is.. and if you mean beryl ( now its Compiz ) then the answers yes aswell. Just check out how to install drivers first. ( its easy )

  • the song sucks soory

  • That switching between workspaces looks cool but would it use alot of ram? kinda the same as alt+tab on windows...

  • Let's put it this way: I can't notice any performance problems when working with multiple workspaces and my comp is quite slow compared to current standards: P IV, 3 Ghz, 2 Gig RAM, 256 MB vidcard. Contrary to what this video may imply, the effects run all very smoothly on my machine.

  • I love this open source initiative and I would definitely install Linux without a whim. However, I love gaming on computers and that is the problem I have with abandoning Linux as it doesn't have much support with the devs. If only they make a competitor to DirextX....for now MS can bleed my pockets to death while I wait for Open source to truly take off.

  • Wine and Cedega work somewhat well when it comes to emulating Windows programs, however they are still very experimental. I hear TF2 works great in wine.

What you could do is just partition Linux on your HDD, that way you have the best of both worlds.

  • why not check out the incredible games ubuntu offers? it may be true that some games in microsoft can't be run in linux, but linux has its own games, and talking from experience, they're awesome

  • i agree with vitormangraviti, the only compiz effects i ever use are wobbly window, and the vacuum minimize effect

  • Why not get rid of Compiz completely and go for speed? And looks in fact. I used to look for all of these effects, but then I got rid of them all and used Arch. Now it is faster, and still looks really good.

  • Do you know what? I get really annoyed with Linux users who care only about its gadgets. Linux has existed without compiz, emerald, compiz-fusion or however you name it.

And it always worked pretty well. The only thing these gadgets are for is slowing your system down. Nothing else. Looks good, sounds good but it's useless. Linux is much more than this.

  • No its not

  • Im so jeaLOUS of your System........Every time i try an OS like Gnome or Fedora11 or Mint7 or The New Solaris it never works for me...Theres always something like a bug or it Crashes or its non responsive or it freezes or it refuses to install any programs......Windows may be lame but 4 me its always gonna be more stable at the end of the day<<<<

  • windows vista

  • Compiz.

  • oooooooooooooold version

  • cant wait :D

  • ill third that wallpaper request

  • amazing video!

    awesome music!

btw edgyrootstudios, whats the name of your desktop wallpaper? It looks really good!

  • Yeah I been looking for that damn wallpaper at 5:17 for age anybody know where to find it?

  • i dont care what anyone says, windows is......... well im not even gonna start about that, anyone who uses linux is in the know about computers and how they work and they know that linux was built to be multi tasking before windows even had a proper password system, and OSs like ubuntu are gonna show billy boy that you do need to upgrade the features and funtions of your kernel, you cant just use the same one for 20 years and call it a new os. MICROSOFT SUCK AND EVEN BILL KNOWS IT. LINUX FOREVER

  • I use a mac, but i have to admit one thing. If linux had the same apps as mac os x, it would kick ass, i would even pay for it!!

  • It has open source replacements for pretty much anything :D. And since they're open source they could potentially feel, work and look better.

I used to like Windows way more than mac, and hadn't even heard of Linux, now Linux is my main OS and I know a lot about Unix and am a lot better at programming. I love Linux.

  • the comment below goes to BatDude27

  • I've just started with linux. I love it!!

Even though I still don't know how to run it.

    But I"m learning.

It's clear what a great OS Linux is and will be in the future.

And the more I learn, the further I get from the monopoly of MS

    Thank God for open source!

How can you pass up such a great opportunity?

  • song?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The track is status quo by 360Joynt. Sometimes it helps to watch the full video or to read the comments on the page. xD

  • song?

  • song?

  • LUNIXS SUCKS!

  • Two questions:

    1. Why are you looking up linux related vids if you think it sucks?

    2. You do realize that one of the reasons why people buy the PS3 is its ability to run Linux, right?

  • you can play games on a linux its called wine...wine runs windows programs if configured correctly..mac OSX can't play many games that windows can...and linux Ubuntu OS is not pre-installed in laptops or desktops unless it comes from there company...learn you facts before you disrespect linux users

  • BS, Mac OS X can play just about any game by using either an emulator like Crossover or something like Parallels, in coherence Mode. The second method allows to play just about ANY Windows program, plus the latest Macs have powerful GPUs which can play any games.

Wine doesn't work with all the Games.

  • you are right but when you buy a mac you dont have the gaming ability like you would with windows. that's why there are emulators..not all games are made for mac i would know i just bought a mac...most gamed made are only for windows but theres a few that can be played on mac. i have morrowind for pc but i play it on my mac thanks to crossover...so your right in a way wrong....

  • Dude...

I can run crysis on a macbook pro... LAPTOP. I get 25 fps.

I got a PC with 2.8 GHz and a more powerful GPU (8800 GTS) and it runs slower than the mac. The mac has a 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo. the 2.8 ghz in the PC is a quad and the GPU in the mac is on-board.

  • ram needs to be taken into account, hard drive read speed, and you only take full advantage of a quad core with 2 gpus

a dual core is actually better than a quad, unless you have 2 gpus

  • so what if u can play crysis on a mac.

    we gamers prefer windows.

we gamers know differences on all platforms but we still choose windows for simple reasons.

  • there are three ways you can get viruses;

    1. porn

    2. porn

    3. porn

you're blaming windows and ur computer for what's ur fault. its because you don't know how to use a computer. grow up. i've used windows, linux, and mac. i haven't gotten viruses on any of them. linux was god, windows was good, and mac was cool but kept crashing every now and then. Every operating is fine as long as you know how to use it and take care of it.

  • I know how to use a pc, you morron. And I didn't tryied any of those 3 ways. And I won't

  • porn for the win

  • Well, as a hardcore gamer, i definitely prefer Ubuntu. It's unfortunate that you can't really play games on it, but it's just so fun to mess around in. Ubuntu + Compiz turn your banal workflow environment into something fluid and dynamic--something that most game GUIs can't match, even though their scope is so much smaller.

Anyway, as soon as games start endorsing linux and provide some capability, i'm definitely taking windows off my rig. It isn't linux that's the problem; it's the games...

  • Hopefully Valve ports Steam and the source engine to Linux XD.

  • What is "Lunixs"?

  • "Their"......

By the way, your observations concerning different OS aren't very accurate. Do some research on the subject, you might learn a thing or two.

  • silly me onother spelling error i meant to wright "there"!;)

ohh and i dont need to reasearch i can already see that the os looks like win 98.

besides my vista has never failed me so ime not looking for an downgrade.

  • Decoding your comments can be quite a challenge, mate. xD Anyway, let's leave it there. You made up your mind and I don't really need to convince you of Linux. The OS and its community can live without you, i.e. it's a loss for you, not for anyone else.

  • dude you need to work on your spellings!

  • noob! :D

  • It's Linux dumbass

  • No kidding.

  • SONG PLZ............THNX

  • 360joynt - status quo

  • boring....

  • which programm did you use for the video (like windows Movie Maker) ??

  • Do you know the name of the wallpaper in 5:31

  • The song is great.

  • why a slide show?

  • sorry but, the song playing sucks. cool video.

  • Assuming you meant floating windows, I didn't see the 3D effects of the cube. Default key combos in the title screens would help, too.

  • best way to get the song is to download the video and convert it into mp3 or wma. it sounds better with 192kbps and and don't forget to clean the soundfile to listen the song like its a orginal soundtrack.

  • And how exactly do you download the video from youtube?

  • First, write voobys in the part where it says "youtube", then download the coverter and the video!

  • or easier, DO A FUCKING GOOGLE SEARCH.

    BASIC THINKING PEOPLE.

  • Hes recording with low fps thats why it looks lag. Works flawless on my old backup pc with shitty specs... Not to mention how it does on my current pc. Dont feel any difference in games when all new effects are on ( ubuntu hardy )

  • nice vid

    whats song name?

  • says in the end...

  • yea good song..

  • looks laaag

  • Tune.
