I studied Lau Gar for ages and we learned that the whole point of learning kicks similar to this, and learning them high, was to produce power and technique for delivering them low. The kick is designed to attack the knees and the turn becomes redundant and turns into a hip movement. Different strokes for different folks

This is actually a good kick. It's your basic Tornado Cresent Kick. Now if you wanted a 540, you would jump, kick, and land with the same leg. Difficult at best.

Hmm this technically isnt actually a tornado kick. Traditionally a tornado kick is a jumping spinning roundhosue whereas, this is a jumping spinning inner cresent kick.

you jump too high and you do it slow. its not about how high you can jump anyways its how quick and powerfull so its less expected and hits harder. It can be used on the jaw temple or ribs. If you see professionals use it in sparring they hardley lift off the ground.
