  • love love love this video if only i saw this video before i spend hours looking at individual ones lol. I think this is by far the best video i have ever seen on the different accessories out there! I cant wait to start my journey with my soon to be newborn in cloth diapers! You made the job super easier to understand ! Thank you once again for taking the time to do this for us newbies!

  • thank you for all the info! :) You are the reason i have decided to cloth diaper, i have always been interested but you made things sound so easy and normal i decided just to do it!

  • I have just decided to start cloth diapering with my 6 month old. when you use a pillow case in your diaper pail doesnt it leak? because the diapers are wet when you put them in there...?

  • @MommyLexi727 Since there is no waterproof layer, yes; a pillowcase will definitely be wet on the outside. If you have your pillowcase in a pail liner (or trash can) then you don't have to worry about it leaking onto anything in your baby's nursery or anything like that. And it goes right from the pail to the laundry room and back. It's just a more inexpensive option if you don't have the funds for a liner.

  • PERGOLAS?!! Prefolds! Ugh...auto correct strikes again :)

  • Thank you for taking the time to make such a great video! I am going to be a first time mom in a few months and plan on cloth diapering with pergolas and covers. I was also planning on using the flush able liners. Now, I have never changed a diaper in my life and have no idea what newborn vs solid food eater poop looks like and what kind of mess each will make. Since I am going to be using the flushable liners, would you recommend investing in a sprayer? Will I have much to clean off the diaper

  • @cassieremington Before 6 months when you start solids, the poop can go straight in the washing machine and is completely water soluble, so if you're going to use liners and a sprayer, you won't need it until 6 months.

Some people just use liners, some just use a sprayer, and some use both. I think a sprayer is always good to have as back up incase the liners don't catch everything.

  • LOL! I love the way you explain things! You guys me of my husband an I.

  • Great video :) just curious - when you buy used diapers or inserts or anything - do you remove any staining? If so, how?

I just got some inserts that were SO stained(wasnt expecting that!) and I've never had staining on any of my diapers or accessories so its kind of upsetting lol...

  • @Jessisaurusss If it's just the inserts, go ahead an bleach them. Do a couple rinses afterwards to make sure all the bleach is out. Bleach is fine on inserts.

If it's the covers/shells too, SUN. Even if it's cold out, if the sun is still shining it is a GREAT natural bleacher for shells AND inserts.

  • I would love, love, LOVE, to see a cloth diaper detergent how to. I make my own laundry detergent, and I would love to know cloth diaper version. Also, could you use a home made fabric softner on the cloth diapers??

  • Thank you so much for all the information. I've been CDing my 6 month old for about a month now. I have become a little obsessed :P There are just so many things that you can get, and so many cute things that you want. Who would have thought diapering could be so consuming!?!

  • Thank you so much for this video! Great to know all of the ins and outs of CD-ing before baby arrives :) This definitely helps me plan out my changing station as well - thank you!

  • Can you use Burts bee's diaper rash cream with cloth diapers

  • @Sexygeiler Some people find that it leaves a bit of residue behind, but for the most part it seems to be okay. When contacting customer service they said they had never tested their product on cloth diapers, but some employees who use cloth have experienced no issues. You can always use a liner with the diaper cream just to be safe =)

  • I just wanted to let you know that your awesome.Your ideas are going to save me alot of money :) thank you

  • You are amazing! Thank you so much for this, it was so helpful for a first time mum/cloth nappy newbie like me :)

  • You are a fountain of knowledge!!!!!!! haha You've inspired me to start using cloth wipes... may as well!! : )

  • I know in your video you said that you recommend a pail and that you think a pail looks better than a hanging wet bag, but I have to show you my wet bag because it's to.die.for.cute. (IMO, obviously, and I love it), and I know you like owls, h**ttp://tinypic.**com/r/2pt3**ypj/5 (take out asterics, stupid youtube)

  • @holleew haha that IS totally cute; I have so many baby items with that print; I love it!!

  • @ObbsAndLala i knew you'd like it :) it is expensive, though, I try to tell myself that I will be sure to still use them for beach trips and what not after my son (and other non-made-children) is out of diapers, or for unpaper towels and things like that, so *HOPEFULLY* i follow through with that, I'm really frugal and question every dollar I spend so I'm still shocked that I paid so much for our wet bags, lol

  • i had no idea about the baby powder. ive never used it on my baby because i found it useless but im so glad i know so i can spread the word!!

  • Wow. You did a great job with this video! I can only imagine how long it took to edit all the times and everything.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely be sharing this with friends! ;)

  • OMG what an amazing video! i LOVED it! you look so stinkin cute in all the footage! No fair! lol really this helped so much. thank you for doing this! YOU ROCK:-)

  • you know the little pad that comes with the wipe warmer do you need that?

  • @nellyville6502 For using disposable wipes, definitely. I've never used it for premoistened cloth wipes, or the water/solution on it's own =)

  • i would recommend Scentsy scent packs, travel tins, and scent circles to get rid of diaper odor in the diaper pail. They work great for that funk, and come in so many different scents.

  • Nice video. I was surprised to learn that I already knew most of this information :) haha I love that you changed your look after every take.

  • @StarlaMom haha I only have a limited time during Liam's nap to do videos! This took me over two weeks to film! haha

  • @StarlaMom Ah that makes sense. I thought maybe that was why. You always look cute :)

  • There's one thing you didn't mention that I'm curious about, I tried quickly perusing the comments so I'm sorry if it's there and I missed it! How is Vaseline as a barrier with cloth diapers? I know many people swear by it as a preventative, but don't know anyone who has used it with cloth, is it safe or needs a liner?

  • you are amazing <3

  • You are AWESOME!!! I know this took forever, we all appreciate it :) Great job girl

  • This is the BEST vidoe EVER!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

  • I store my wipes dry and dip them too, lol! Okay, I'm off now - just really enjoyed and appreciated :))

  • You could so set up your own CD company! You'd be fab!! I love that you are so candid, yet respectful of people finding different things that work for them and their baby. Thank you so much for sharing so much of your time and energy with us :))

  • This video is amazing!!!! HUGE THUMBS UP! I watched the entire video although I'm no longer an newbie. I was hooked! I found myself nodding and saying yep A LOT! I agree iwth you on basically everything. I had to smile about the and sanitiser and cream - mum/dad is part of the system too. And the main thing is working out what works for you, then keeping it simple and cross bridges as you come to them. You are a beacon for the CD community!

  • @xoxazurixox I was doing the same thing- nodding and saying yep a lot lol

  • We use Green Works for ours. I use it at about half strength. Works great so far. We have a very small stash so they go through a ton of washes and still look new.

  • Desitin was the worst on the cloth diapers. I haven't tried our others yet which are burtsbees and baby-ganics. The only time we've had rash issues since switching is when we put him back in paper when at my parents house, because my mom doesn't want to handle the cloth ones. Every time he's been in a paper diaper for a day or longer since changing, we've had a rash. Very strange.

  • Wow. lol. Can't believe I watched the whole hour! I thought i was just going to do a few tabs but then I was hooked. lol. Great job on it.

  • Never wash bumkins liners!! We learned that. They start to dissolve right away. So, in the washer, they shred into peaces and stick to everything, especially velcro.

  • I love this and totally appreciate it so much! I havent finished watching but I faved it and I deff plan on watching a little bit everyday-you single hand sold me on cloth diapering...now I just need the baby! haha Thank you SO much for making this video! =)

  • your so smart! i learned alot! i didnt even think of using a wet bag outside of the diaper bag..... duh (i have one attached to my changing table now ;P) p.s. i use egg yolk for diaper rash! (but i also didnt know about lanalin, will be trying it :)

  • This was amazing! Loved it :)

  • I loved this! I just got my first 10 cloth diapers and I'm still a bit lost! This really helped!

  • This is super super super helpful since this is my first time using cloth. So thank you!

  • This is great. Such a great idea and soo helpful! You rock!!

  • You're amazing.

Do you like the Grovia Magic stick? Is it worth ordering? I need something for little man.

  • @fleafleafleaable Compared to every other diaper cream I have used; the magic stick is honestly at the top of my list! We love it.

  • @ObbsAndLala

Great - another reason to spend money.

I am sick of getting my hands covered in the baby bottom better every diaper change.

  • Wow, great resource for cloth diaperers!!!!! thanks, Kayla!

  • This was great!! Does anyone know of a cloth diaper safe diaper rash treatment that does NOT contain animal ingredients like beeswax or lanolin? Thanks!!

  • @zkt8ef Nature's Paradise Diaper Cream and Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm are vegan formulas.

CJs BUTTer also has come out with their own vegan line.

And of course, you can always use coconut oil =)

  • @ObbsAndLala Ahh thank you, you're the best!!

  • Fantastic Job kayla!

  • Awesome Video :) I found that my Peri Bottle (the squeeze bottle you get for your lady bits from the hospital ;P) Work REALLY well for a diaper sprayer :)

  • Great overview :-)

  • You did a great job with this. Very informative!

  • i'm about 3 months into cloth diapering and this is so helpful!! thanks for taking all the time to make it.

  • hey i have California baby rash cream and the grandma ells one i love the California baby one is that considered cloth diaper friendly???

  • @Ayanajb I actually discuss California Baby at around 40 minutes in. Some people consider it 'cloth diaper safe' but it DOES contain zinc oxide so I would use a liner with it in your diapers.

  • It was a very nice video, thanks for uploading!

  • i like all your different looks haha
