    GRRR!

  • WoW.

  • oh my god, PINO PALADINO IS FREAKING AWESOME!

  • Have anyone the newest Dominic's CD "november"? I can't get it in my country jet...

  • Dominic Miller...lo másssss!!!

  • LOVE TO PINO PALIDINO?!?!?!

  • Dominic sos un maestro!!!! Maria de Buenos Aires.

  • This is very very cool. Would have been interesting to se what way Level 42 had developed with Dominic Miller as permanent guitarist!!

  • As soon as I started watching this video I knew I had already listened to this song...I think it's on Dominic Miller's first album (first touch) or second one (second nature)...nice song.

  • magnifique

  • GROOOOOOOOOOOVE

  • yea I first discovered Miller and Katche when they played with Sting some years ago and obviously Pino from the 80's but these guys together that is some super band all top class virtuoso's let's hear some more please!!

  • somptueux!! juste somptueux!!

  • Now this is something sooo different....!!!

    Very amazing...!!

  • Hmm I Think we all know Dominic....

    And Kathce...

  • If you like acoustic guitar, then check out this uber cool acoustic cover of Faithless - Insomnia! It strips the original right down to it's roots and builds it up into something pretty different but equally passionate. Just search:

    Byron Johnston Faithless Insomnia

And it should be the first thing that pops up! Hope you like it!

  • Pino! WOW! Tasty licks!!

  • Tasty indeed. What a great master..!

  • 140 and on reminds me on know your enemy

  • COOL!!!

  • Great Post.Never heard of D.Miller but totally dug it.I linked up here thru being a Manu fan.

  • I'm a huge fun of this song.

I think this live version is far better than original(?) version in Miller's CD "Second Nature."

  • Holy moly ... three genius musicians at work! What a groove! 5 stars for this video.

  • Isn't Pino John Mayers bass player?

  • Exactly,yes!!!

  • @doctone Well you know, he REALLY did a lot of other GREAT stuff way before John Mayer... ;-)

  • He's also played with: Jools Holland, Gary Numan, Paul Young, Richard Ashcroft, David Gilmour, Tears for Fears, Don Henley, Melissa Etheridge, Richard Wright, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Paul Rodgers (ex Bad Company), Phil Collins, Jeff Beck, The Who, Simon and Garfunkel, Paul Simon (on the album Surprise). He's going to tour with Eric Clapton during the 2008 summer tour.

  • Not to mention D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Common, De La Soul, Talib Kweli and others. Pino is an amazing player and incredibly versatile.

  • lol I saw him solo on Victor Wooten bassday '98 (i think) and i was like "meh...". then i saw him with the John Mayer Trio and i was like "Cool, this guy can groove". Now i see this and i feel bad for thinking any less than "This guy flippin' owns the bass" ;p

  • @bstupidass

Pino isn't exclusively John Mayer's bassist, he's been at it since the late 70s/early 80s. He's been on a mind boggling amount of recordings, which isn't surprising since he's an amazing bassist. One of my favorites.

  • @bstupidass he is!

  • @bstupidass, Pino isnt anyones Bitch :-D hes the bass players player and seems to do what he feels like (good on him for that)

  • @bstupidass No! John Mayers is Pino's guitar player

  • Dynamite!

  • I'm just gonna say it again, not one note to few or to many. it's just perfect. Unbeaten groove.

  • Pino es mi heroe

  • PINO FTW!!!

  • tap your feet, bang your head and say yes !

  • I was just doing that and then I read your comment! LOL

  • Pino ftw!!! :)

  • Wow I thought it was Vinnie dude it's more like

    Vinnie

    Omar

    Dennis

    Chester

    Chad

    Stewart

    Manu

  • that groove at 1:40 is badass!!!

  • I've never heard Pino play this busy. I'm clearly not with the programme. Mr Palladino is truly a god.

  • Me either, I knew he was good, but I did't know he was this good until I watched this video.

  • hot shit, hot.

  • pino is without a doubt the greatest and the most versatile of all great bassplayers.

  • Pino Palladino is the man!!

  • this is awesome.

  • "It sounds like a jam or something"

    It's called jazz.

    Improvisation?

  • Hi.

    It's Dominic's orginal tune!

Have you never listened to his albums?

    Those album are pretty nice.:>

  • That Pino palladino, man he can play but I dont think much of this tune,it sounds like a jam or something.

  • Is there a studio recording of this? I wanna buy it now! Manu Katche is probably the best drummer on planet earth...

  • oh my god, this vid rules! and that Lakland sounds great!

    Dave

  • Thanks for the video. Does anyone know which bass Pino is playing? It sort of looks like a Lakland.

  • Yes,its Pino Paladino playing in it.

  • @doctone

Pino is playing with many musicians...this is great

  • @dantro78 it looks and sounds like a fretless musicman i think.

  • wow, Dom is great!

    grtz, Jaya

  • This is a fantastic video! Thanks for it!!!

  • I was lucky enough to attend this gig - Montreux Jazz Festival 1999 - footage appeared on the Festival website for a short while after that years Festival but I have been unable to find anything since.

Doctone, many thanks for posting the clip - if you know of any more footage of The Tweeters (as they call themselves from time to time) I would be very grateful if you could let us all know ;)

    Many thanks, cheers

  • Doeasn't get much better than this if you are a Pino fan or a Manu Katche fan...they make it sound so easy. Great clip! Can't find much on this band, so anything is appreciated

  • thanks for the clip. Pino Palladino's playing is awesome and its amazing how many styles he can emulate.
