As soon as I started watching this video I knew I had already listened to this song...I think it's on Dominic Miller's first album (first touch) or second one (second nature)...nice song.
yea I first discovered Miller and Katche when they played with Sting some years ago and obviously Pino from the 80's but these guys together that is some super band all top class virtuoso's let's hear some more please!!
If you like acoustic guitar, then check out this uber cool acoustic cover of Faithless - Insomnia! It strips the original right down to it's roots and builds it up into something pretty different but equally passionate. Just search:
Byron Johnston Faithless Insomnia
And it should be the first thing that pops up! Hope you like it!
He's also played with: Jools Holland, Gary Numan, Paul Young, Richard Ashcroft, David Gilmour, Tears for Fears, Don Henley, Melissa Etheridge, Richard Wright, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Paul Rodgers (ex Bad Company), Phil Collins, Jeff Beck, The Who, Simon and Garfunkel, Paul Simon (on the album Surprise). He's going to tour with Eric Clapton during the 2008 summer tour.
lol I saw him solo on Victor Wooten bassday '98 (i think) and i was like "meh...". then i saw him with the John Mayer Trio and i was like "Cool, this guy can groove". Now i see this and i feel bad for thinking any less than "This guy flippin' owns the bass" ;p
Pino isn't exclusively John Mayer's bassist, he's been at it since the late 70s/early 80s. He's been on a mind boggling amount of recordings, which isn't surprising since he's an amazing bassist. One of my favorites.
I was lucky enough to attend this gig - Montreux Jazz Festival 1999 - footage appeared on the Festival website for a short while after that years Festival but I have been unable to find anything since.
Doctone, many thanks for posting the clip - if you know of any more footage of The Tweeters (as they call themselves from time to time) I would be very grateful if you could let us all know ;)
Doeasn't get much better than this if you are a Pino fan or a Manu Katche fan...they make it sound so easy. Great clip! Can't find much on this band, so anything is appreciated
Pino :)

I'm a huge fun of this song.
I think this live version is far better than original(?) version in Miller's CD "Second Nature."
