Dude, as the proud owner of a carefully maintained beard, i strongly suggest that (painful though it will be to do it) you trin the really long bits down so you just have the 'bushy part' as you call it. You'll get a lot more props for your beard if it looks presentable. Even the bushy part is a good, respectable length and a hearty beard on its own... Trim its toenails man...
