Dear Matt, this is the first time I hear you and I appreciate your technique and the feeling made by your interpretation and the particular way you choose to play it. I also made an interpretation in a Parisian Jazz way. Again thank you for sharing your songs.
i stumbled on this guy a year or so ago, and he really knocks me out. check out his medley of days of wine and roses/laura. great articulation. those elferink guitars kick ass, too, perfect jazz tone.
Sounds great I am a Trombone player learning guitar, after I heard this I put donw the guitar and picked up the horn. Hey what key was this in and can put up the chord changes you used, its right in the "slot" for the horn.
i love toot thielsman .he played the sesame street theme he did the harmonica......i know him as a harmonica player more so....but i do know hes highly reguarded as a guitar player too
Matt, that is one of the finest solos that I've ever seen! Great arrangement! Your phrasing is really great! I love it! Do you have any recordings (for sale?) Thanks for the posting!
Dear Matt, Beautiful job, effortless. Your technique is a pleasure. I see from the comments you got that everybody agrees with me. So --well done. However --I wonder what you would make of my question: Is it possible to be "too effortless"? Too facile? "Facile" means "done w. little effort or difficulty. Yes, you make Bluesette sound easy; but "facile" also means "arrived at w/o due care, effort..." Forgive my seeming "hypercriticality". Again, beautiful, fabulous.
hi, thanks, I understand your point, but believe me, it takes plenty of effort, even if it doesn't show! On the other hand, I've found that to play with good feel and especially good timing, one should play at a level that is still comfortable enough to achieve that. Of course it's also a matter of preference and style, this is just mine.
Matt I am considering buying the epi joe pass do you recommend it? and can you tell me what gauge strings are on there please and are they round or flat.Cheers Paul.
That´s some nice jazzn´, thank you very much for this excellent version of one of my favorite songs, Blusette from Toots. Congratulations.

Nice solo lines. Nice meter change back and forth. I am sure that is what the composer intended.

hey this is great stuff, but why not play with a real group? at times the comping doesn't go with the lead. with a live band, it just sounds better
