I don't know where you got that definition, but it's bullshit. Sociopathy is just an american, less medically correct term to describe psychopathy. You cannot be diagnosed as a sociopath; only a psychopath. Superficial charm is not actually essential for a diagnosis of psychopathy, it is just a common trait among them.
