the guy who owns the property the one who has the gate right next to the ranch was using a chain saw today above the ranch and it added an eerie scary feeling to the vibe
I was there today and was scared of walking the ranch, first of all it was so overgrown it was hard to walk trrough, and it just had a paranoid vibe. I need to go with someone else
I am going back tommorow~! going to check out the creek and shorty's death site. Box canyon scares me! how long up before you get to fountain of the world site?
We, who cannot be there, live in your Santa Susana shadow...snicker...what property lines are next, rb, oh, okay, only on a need-to-know basis we are, huh? ;)
everything is brown now, cause it's hot there ! I fucking found a piece of the stables from spahn ranch Little burnt from the fires! either the fire that burnt spahn down in the 70s or the 2005 !
wheres youre dog? anyone goin up there would be wise to have dogs around. for safety, and for possible discovery of human remains. anyone they killed up in that cursed ground needs a decent burial. try to find them.
Uhh...it's probably pretty safe these days. Most of it is state park property, and in plain view of a well-traveled road. If anyone else besides Shorty Shea was killed and buried at Spahn Ranch, no one has ever verified it or copped to it.
Nice! I'm a bit intrigued by that blackened burned-out looking pole, whatever it is, at 1:20 . I've seen it in some other videos. I'm presuming it was a casualty of the fire they had there in 2005. Can you still see much evidence of that fire?
In the park map/document you turned us onto, there's some interesting information about fires in the area, including a table that lists the numerous fires that have affected Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. Apparently, the one that leveled Spahn Ranch (and much of Iverson Ranch as well) on September 26, 1970, was known as the Clampitt Fire. The vegetation said to be "very dense in some areas" of the park is hearty stuff that typically replaces native grasses and scrub after repeated fires.
there's more of barker left than i'd expected. luckily so much of it was made of stone. still...what a mess, and what a shame! i haven't checked on the internet manson sites lately, but last i saw it hadn't been determined whether it was a case of arson, or simply carelessness.
@Lonelygerbil15@Lonelygerbil15 It's interesting that the pole was featured prominently in iamaphoney's "Paul is Dead" alternate reality game, when he left the suitcase drop in some bushes at Spahn Ranch. Michael/BackporchTapes shoulda been the guy to snag the drop! Haha!
yeah a lot of the property is private around there. but the main piece of land where the buildings used to be are state property so if anybody tries to kick you off there tell them to fuck off!!
im just playin though. i have ran into people from there and they were cool. they asked me a few times what i was doing but i was on the area thats a state park and not their property.
It's strange that they would ask you what you were doing there since you were legally on state park property. Were they associated with the Church at Rocky Peak?
i think i would have smiled & said 'well i'm interested in the HISTORY of the area, which is why i'm enjoying my visit here at santa susana pass STATE HISTORIC PARK,' and pointed at the sign identifying it as state historic park property! lol
I think I would have smiled and said, "I'm scouting the area for a suitable location to perform a human sacrifice to my father Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness. This sacrifice will usher in the End Times, as was foretold in the ancient scrolls of Abraxas, at whose end Lucifer will resume his rightful position as ruler of the universe. This looks about as good a spot as any." I wonder if that would have raised any eyebrows? LOL!
they just drove through the gate at the bridge and stopped to ask me. when i told them i was just hiking around they didnt say anything and just drove off.
the piece of land that i am walking around here is acually a state park now. it is open to the public from sunrise to sunset. now most of the land surrounding this is private property.
Ive always wanted to make it there thanks for uploading this!

Speaking of fires, I keep forgetting to mention...
Barker Ranch was gutted by a fire about 3 weeks ago.
