Caught George a coupla times in Seattle at Jazz Alley. Awesome & energy filled shows. A real performer, and as as stated earlier, mingled with us after the show. Another cat that really did things his own way and with his own unique voice. I remember watching a random movie with Jane Fonda in it (early 90s) and could tell it was George laying down the soundtrack just from his tones alone before credits. The movie just got better. A true inspiration the past 25 years for me. Miss this guy!
He was one of my favorite jazz artist above even Najee. I saw him in St. Paul, MN at the Sax series with Everett Harp, Gerald Albright and Walter Beasley. What a great show they put on and they took time to meet us after the show. Great guys... No Doubt is groove and clasic sound will be missed.
This band has sick chops, and an awesome groove!!!
