  • @blackbloccninja right?! you're not the only one. ex-con and now a single dad...weird how it flipped around...

  • god i love mike ness :)

  • you know i may never learn

  • this will forever remind me of my once long time boyfriend of 5 1/2 years, hes now in prison due to his drug addiction, he wasnt a bad person as much as he made some bad chooses. now hes up state serving 5 yrs.. I hope for his sake HE WILL LEARN ANY OTHER WAY

  • @TheVictorianorton Well, Ness figured it out, and it's not prison that can fix you. He's been clean and sober since 1985. I think part of the answer is in 'Ball & Chain'. That's a prayer to God if I've ever heard one...

  • @TheVictorianorton Most junkies are not bad people. Most just made bad choices along the way, and those choices caused them to lose a part of their soul. One of my cousins was a bright kid, funny, nice kid. He was a jock type, and yet he went down the wrong path, making bad decisions. Unfortunately, because of those bad decisions, he will never get older than 25, his mother will never feel her baby in her arms. Because of those bad choices he was beaten to death in a dispute.

  • @TheGuerrillaPoet Cool story bro.

  • @Halfabucketofpsycho Why the fuck do you gotta troll on him? Come the fuck on man...

  • "Johnny says Ill walk the Line" the line that got me into Johnny Cash a few years ago.

  • Im a dirtbag, never been in prison though

  • Only a 'dirtbag' would hit the Dislike button.

  • Ha! I couldn't help but sing this song on my chain ride to Chowchilla!

  • two people are probably going straight to heaven.............

  • lol i was singing this song on my way to jail

  • @kakarot138 me to bro me two but i was really on my way to the pen

  • @dustynutz82 wow on your way to the pen, I like this song cause it,s about doing time. when you have, you,ll understand!

  • @kakarot138 what got you in there man.?

  • Yeah...except that riff was also part of a Dylan tune. And it's one of the most standard folk/country riffs there is. I-V-vi-IV is common for any pop song. This and Wagon Wheel use I-V-vi-IV followed by I-V-IV.

  • One of my fav Social D songs, been there done that time rolls on, badass song

  • only song that makes me wanna go to prison!!!

    Social Distortion fucken rules!!

  • Comment removed

  • One of my all time favorite songs!!! Say something bad about social D, and then go fuck yourself!!!!

  • Anybody else find an odd similarity to this song and a song called Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show? look it up

  • @sarevus Ya...OCMS totally lift the riff. Kind of shamlessly too.

  • 702... speedee mart 2 for $1 hotdogs..

  • I hope if I write something fawning and sycophantic I get many thumbs-up.

  • @dionath That was hilarious, I fuckin' love you.

  • Epic win about a lose-lose situation

  • is this aldo nova? all night long?

funny how some songs can remind one of others

    love both, songs

  • Im pissed cause bout a month ago my ipod broke, and since my laptop broke just before the summer i dont have any of my social d songs, which makes stressful days and driving suck

  • FFFFaaaaaarrrrrrkkkkk yyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • god damnn this song is incredible, god damn

  • There are plenty of 'dirtbags' in prision..just as there are plenty of "dirtbags" on the streets. Prisons are also filled with people who have made mistakes, gotten caught up in a bad scene, and/or are slaves to addiction. To make blanket statements about inmates makes YOU the "dirtbag." Now every STFU and listen to the song.

  • @workingclass75 What? In the world we live in its badass to have been to prison, that doesn't mean u have to be the badest of the asses.. lol.. just get with it.. thats what i say.

  • @workingclass75 As hitler once said kill 'em' all and ride the lightning"

  • @workingclass75

well i would put all the smack heads on a remote island and let them get on with it they are a drain to society or better still a bullet in the back of the head

  • @dandynik1 Well I would take all the assholes who lack compassion and empathy for other people out to field a chop off their heads. So I guess were even.

  • @workingclass75 bullshit arguement. Just like back when this album came out (and I was there for that), you can't NOT know what getting hooked on smack means. Getting cross ways with the law for other reasons, that's a different story, but not with junk, there is no excuse. And before you get all pissy, I've had plenty of people in the punk scene where I grew up die because of heroin. I got pissed at them, not the drug.

  • @biscuitonia Ya..I was there for it too. You also get mad at other people with mental illnesses. You are acting like addiction is a choice. People who can use responsibly do use responsibly. Untreated addicts yes will act like untreated addicts.Sorry they didn't live up to your expectations.

  • @biscuitonia fuck you bitch, people make mistakes all the time, who are you to say that one is worse than another, especially one so harmful to the mistake maker and so harmless to the rest of society? think about it numbnuts...addicts wouldn't be a problem for society if drugs were legal....why? because illegality forces prices higher and quality down...how fucking dare you judge others for their mistakes, especially given that there a lot of people trying to make amends...eat shit and die SLOW

  • @workingclass75 Damn straight man! They lock up petty criminals for nothing. The system is flawed.

  • epic song

  • i like to lift weights to this song for some reason.

  • @batjames20 cuz it motivates you to get stronger so youll never be raped

  • 4 MY PRIMO ALBERT GLAD UR STILL HOME CORONA POR VIDA PRIMO

  • I did time, and I am great guy:) Peace assholes!

  • Love this song, reminds me of someone really special :D

  • He is right not everyone is a bunch of dirtbags... LOts of people have badluck

    nuf ced

  • im 41 got first sd record when i was 12 momys little monster first 7inch adam bomb tnt 1945 ,any way this record was great to coastamesa def dave

  • this is a great song... bunch of dirtbags identifying themselves with it cause they have done time though lol

  • @spunchicken you don't necessarily have to be a 'dirtbag' to do time.

  • @YanksDontKnowFooty Amen brother.

  • @YanksDontKnowFooty Sure, there are some people that are in prison for killing someone who hurt their loved ones.

  • Comment removed

  • @YanksDontKnowFooty yea you due in eyes of society. You dont fit you dont belong you dont look right you vibe off energy your a scum bag unless you fit into the eyes of the right side of tracks bro. but you only feel good when your being you. Its the whole song and the meaning of the separation of classes only the punk rock/blues version I so love this song

  • @spunchicken Yeah, what kind of asshole relates to the lyrics of a song they like? Bunch of fuckin' pricks!

  • @spunchicken Fuck you (sarcastic lol )

  • when you're facing a year in jail, its songs like this that keep you going

  • colder than a pimps heart....gotta love that!!!

  • the first verse reminds me of this guy who said that while he was in prison (not a pussy one neither) that all the toughest guys were cryin durin 'Marly and Me'.

  • @FFarmerCharlie Where was he in prison Utah?

  • @BlackTarAllStar i think florida, not sure.

  • tell my girl ill be back some day.....

  • Mike Ness is the God of punk!

  • I don't even think Mike Ness has ever been to prison.

  • @cza5543

    How would you know?

  • @supermjjfan1 Because I read his Bio.

  • @cza5543

Ok,LOL. I guess I didn`t . Have been a fan for several years now and seen him live about 5 or 6. He is truly one of the most talented guitar guys around.Peace.

  • @supermjjfan1 Yeah, I think he went to jail for heroin possession. This guy is truly the Johnny Cash of our generation. I've been to some of his shows and never seen an artist bring so many different people together.

  • @cza5543

There is another prson on here who says different, but really swo what?! Mikey is great... As you can see I love MJackson but punk is always my hearts destiny,LOL. Hey 55 and been there since early 1980`s..when it wasnt too cool. Yep,Johnny definetely Mike`s biggest influence,I think.Mike is a god of guitar. Amazing talent. Cool too;talked to him at a couple of gigs and he right down to earth and funny as shit.

  • been in prison twice as an adult

  • @MachuMacKerrson Here's hoping you have the wisdom to never go back. Best wishes to you...

  • @MachuMacKerrson Was it fun?

  • @deathtonathan you realize how dumb that question is right?

  • @MachuMacKerrson Well was it?

  • @deathtonathan oh yeah definitely guy

  • @MachuMacKerrson sorrry mate

  • This song isn't about being in prison. It's about continuing to do the the things that should get you locked up instaed of just spending a day or two in county.

  • @wpgray3 Um....how does that square with verse 2?

  • @wpgray3

    LOL,great .

  • thank you!!

  • im sure half of you who say you have been to prison are lying.

    social distortion rocks!

  • I dodged it...But i got a brother in Bent County, Colorado who can relate to this.

  • there are many people who are prison bound who dont belong there, for the others: fuck you! I hope i never go back to prison.
